If he told her, she might have figured it out and put at least some of the things together. In the end, 3 things caused the order to fall:
      1. Their Hubris
      2. The way they've become worse than politicians in a way

Even Yoda called her a Padawan, cause she technically still was when she left: she got her rank back and everything. To deny Anakin the rank of a Master was pretty much the same: they mistrusted the chancellor and how he took over the command over the clone army, so they punished the one they could and denied Anakin this rank (nice little side note: Anakin would have been they youngest Master, ever joining the council, before him, Windu was).

      @shoeman6966 Před 3 lety +141

      Kung Olaf yes but there were many greedy politicians, and the Jedi didn’t sense the dark side around them as they did with palpatine in ROTS. Besides, the Jedi likely knew from the report on krell that krell believed the republic would collapse from the inside. Given the knowledge that the Jedi had that darth sidious has control of hundreds of senators, and that the republic will collapse from the inside, and that the dark side of the force surrounds the chancellor, and that sidious has controlled both sides of the war from the beginning, and that dooku likely has a dark side master, wouldn’t a reasonable person say that it’s a good guess to say the Sith Lord is palpatine. I understand the Jedi would be in deep shit if they were wrong about palpatine, but maybe was it worth the risk? That’s not for me to decide. You could also argue that the Jedi were blinded by the dark side veil, making their ability to see the future blurred, and that the Sith shrine under the Jedi temple helped blind them as wells. I mean, that’s fine, and it probably played a role, but....c’mon. Yoda, windu, obi wan, plo koon; they weren’t dumb. They had way too much information to not realize palpatine was the Sith Lord until it was too late. I’m sort of arguing both sides now, but the Jedi also grew arrogant and assumed the Sith were extinguished. Yoda, windu, and Obi-Wan were probably the most arrogant of all of them. The Jedi’s arrogance also led to their downfall.

    Some argue that Ahsoka is partially to blame for Anakin's fall, since she didn't try to convey the message, but at the same time, had Mace told her about their suspicions regarding Palpatine, she might have decided to trust the Council after all and tell them what Maul had said, leading them to reach the necessary conclusion. It's not even literal blame as it is (that honour goes to Palpatine himself), it just boils down to the lack of trust and everyone being suspicious of one another that led to the downfall of the Jedi and the Republic. Windu didn't trust Anakin nor Ahsoka, Ahsoka had her misgivings about the Order and she wanted to believe in Anakin just like he believed in her back in Season 5, so she couldn't trust Maul as far as she could throw him. Anakin felt abandoned by everyone he loved, and by the Order he served, and with the risk of losing Padme (who worked behind his back on the Delegation 2000) and Palpatine's schemes... it's a recipe for a perfect disaster.

    Ahsoka: "It's not like he didn't already want that. It's just how I've known him."
    Yoda: "Careful we are of this, padawan. Selfishness can be a path to the dark side."

    This series always did a better job of bringing out the tragedy of Revenge of the Sith than that movie ever did on its own. First just by finally giving Anakin and Obi-Wan, and their friendship the screentime and humanity they all needed to work, then by showing just how many people *would have been there* for Anakin. How many people really did have his back and would have helped him if he had been able to open up to them about him and Padme. Jesus, even having Rex around in Episode 3 wouldn't have been nothing.
    But The Clone Wars then went the extra step to really bring together the sorry state that the Hubris of the Jedi Order left them in- that they couldn't help people, couldn't understand real humanity and normal lives, that they were *lost* in all of this. And that was their downfall.

    Mace Windu in particular embodies this better than any other. When Boba comes after him, he doesn't make any attempt to apologize or make peace he just says what amounts to "Oh well. Ahsoka only sees Yoda as a true Jedi. Yoda sees Ahsoka as Padawan regardless of titles, as well as tried to establish two way trust even while bound by the Council's decision. Yoda is the only Master who learned the lesson of the incident: Ahsoka is a good person and they should trust her.
    He is the only one who realizes she doesn't return because she is disappointed in the Jedi and is the only one to overcome the Council's hubris of "others have to change to fit our wise outlook". He is really trying, but Ahsoka knows its still not enough to truly make the changes the Order needs. So much nuance built into this scene, its so cool.

    I really think that Yoda's arc in season 6 really was to show his growth and how he became who he was in the original trilogy. Prequel Yoda (pre Revenge of the Sith) shows him to be just as blind if not more so than any other Jedi, seeking to preserve the dogmatic, legalistic order above all else, even if it meant sacrificing basic natural qualities like empathy and attachment. But in the season 6 arc, one of the last things he says or alludes to is that things in the immediate future didn't look so hot for the Jedi. He accepts the flaws of the order and the reality that they might be doomed to destruction. This explains why he might seem not as adamant and concerned as the rest of the council in the movie to save the Jedi order and why he was relatively calm during the purge and when he and Obi-Wan went back to the temple to investigate. The arc also showed him the failures of not just the Jedi Council/order, but his own failures as well. He was able to see that in the Jedi's attempts at becoming "true Jedi" by detaching themselves from emotion, they were becoming more like the Sith in just wanting power and more prideful, as evidenced by his original treatment of Ahsoka. Now in season 7 and ROTS, Yoda obviously wants to stop the Sith and preserve his friends from death and destruction, but he also is understanding of the fact that maybe the old order should be destroyed and they should start again, even if it means darkness takes over for a while. It even adds to the beauty of his speech to Luke in TLJ (which is a good movie with a few flaws but still good and Luke's arc makes perfect sense to me). Yoda finally understands what it means to be a Jedi at this point even after centuries of being widely known as the best Jedi and he wants to make amends with Ahsoka as a start. 😊

    I think it's kind of sweet how ahsoka seems slightly concerned about obi-wan fighting grievous but at the same time obviously thinks he is capable of defeating him when she says "the war could be over soon". Shows that although they disagreed on some things she still believes in his abilities and cares about him.
    Shame that they likely didn't see each other again...

    that look yoda gives after he called ahsoka a 'citizen', "yodu: being a prick, you are".
    also what citizen, who didn't get the rank of jedi knight, can;
    1. fight, defeat and catch a former sith lord.
    2. restore peace to a the planet under said sith's control
    3. make peace with said planets culture who have bad blood between themselves and jedi.
    and this same 'citizen' is the one the jedi council (not counting the ones who objected) chose to abandon to preserve their ties to the government instead of trying to help clear their name. THEN when she was proven innocent they tried to play it off as 'the will of the force' and promote her for it.
    seriously mace, you may be awesome but this is not one of you finest moments.

      To be fair all Mace was saying is that they aren’t going to share highly sensitive information to someone who just reiterated that they weren’t a Jedi and identified themselves as a “citizen”. It’s just the way he says it is just his personality. Very condescending and kinda hilarious imo
