I can only imagine knowing I fucked up rushing home to meet the plumber. Then see him dancing on the sidewalk to jeopardy.
lol
Mikey Pipes spreading the wealth where ever he go ... That chicken place will pick up business from these vids ... Way to go Mikey !!!
I see a Mikey upload I watch it keep up the good work love the respect for your time watching from England
You have to Love how Mike tells it like it is, You have to be on time, it is ignorant and does show disrespect, if you are not there. That first job is insane, I don't blame you for passing on that one. On that second job, A half hour wait is ridiculous.
This is a case of a good plumber is expensive. Just wait till you get a bad one. Run like hell but I'm sure you agree.
Love how direct you are with people. 'if you don't respect my time I won't respect your' damn right
Mikey was very rude today
@@JoePublic717 YUP! A little too direct. Five minutes isn't long enough for that attitude in my opinion. That's also why I left New England cause of too much attitude.

@@JoePublic717 No he was correct. This isn't a situation. And he helped a guy out. We deserve respect.
@@PipeDoctor time is $$, if you are waiting around you arent making $$ esp on an estimate.. if its a by-the-hour call then they can take their time getting there.. its on their dime
Really cool to see on the channel a series of you reruffing that house in with plumbing
I would love for the 1st guy to say yes, that would make for some pretty amazing content! And Mike your Towelie impression was great!
Can't wait for the unsigned cease and desist letter from South Park......
Nice videos brother i learn alot
I really enjoy and learn a lot from your videos 💪💪I’m a maintenance supervisor for 200 units; 60 buildings here in Rhode Island too bad you don’t do business here,You’ll be our guy.god bless you. My neighbors garage caught on fire and burned half of my garage also, I used a public adjuster and that was a great choice I made.
Thank god we don't need permission to repair or even build new. Just buy the stuff and install it.
Then pocket all the labor costs.
wow in my hood of elmont. really thought you would hit K.U pizza again. lol love your channel. i watch everyday
hey I'm number one and I survived a water heater Thursday lol hope you all are keeping your boots dry :-) :-)
It’s incredible how people don’t keep appointments! If I miss or cancel, I alway make some type of payment.
Keeping it real.
Great customer skills.

Totally entertaining 👍
This would be a great learning job for an apprentice to learn on. A little too big for a service shop.
You know that guy was probably watching you the whole time on all those cameras in there saying you had to go you had to go but you still hung out there for a while lol
Imagine working with this guy all day everyday. No way. They other guys sitting there like wtf.
What an amazing boss😂 I'd work with this guy any day.
yeah it is kind of funny when people get in situations like that and think you could do whatever what they never realized is once you pull up hermit it has to be brought up to as modern of standard that they will allow yeah he got himself a mess and unfortunately I do not have one of those fancy pro presses I wish I did so a lot of times I do end up using a torch but unlike a lot of other people who use it towards I have one experience that they don't I was also a firefighter when I was younger and my father was a firefighter when he was younger so I have a lot of respect for flame
The first guy has no idea about being a general contractor and for that I say CHA CHING 💰💰$$$$
Hey Mikey - enjoyed this video - you ever work in NJ ?
Unless there was a pipe there before the previous plumber installed the Pex, I suspect some kind of drilling was going on. What are the odds he hit something electrical in the basement drilling?
Good mr Hankie voice.
I hope this guy is sitting down when you give him the estimate.Wow thats a lot of work and manpower
Lol,,, that's a shockingly good Towelie there....
Yea I can do everything cheaper than the experts. LOL
I’ve learned to just call ahead of time. Expecting people to see a text ain’t reliable. But you know what is reliable….. FRIED CHICKEN!!!!!!!!!
I would run away from that first one. Complete waste of time. No insurance adjuster, the whole place needs to be gutted and re-roughed. Someone already burned the house down because they were being cheap. The homeowner has no clue how much it's gonna cost to do the job right and probably doesn't want to pay for it to be done right anyway after seeing the quality of work that was done previously.
Sounds like this guy got the insurance claim and is trying to find the (cheapest) guy to do the job
Probably. Never heard back.
Couldn't we have just played it faster through You Tube..Lol ?
Looks like the boiler was the start of the fire and it spread out
I work for a company so I can't just tell them to fuck off if they ain't home when I get there lol.
Maybe the plumber set something smoldering with his torch when he was soldering, and it burst into flames a little while later. That is a nightmare.
@@PipeDoctor I guess you could say that is part of the reason why Propress and pex are becoming more popular.
Don't forget your towel!
wanna get high? lol
With such a big job, putting back a new hot water heating system really the best option??
Wouldn't too forced air furnaces, potentially be more cost effective, then he can add AC.
Wow Messed up situation ... Yikes Lol ... Could the plumber poss soldered a fitting in a wall and it was smoldering ... who knows ,, I love watching your Videos
Mikey, watching that fire ridden home what do you think could have been done by former plumber that caused fire? It's summer time so boilers not being run. I Am just curious as to what negligence may have caused a fire like this? Crazy, the whole chimney was removed, can you imagine if that asbestos was burning and breathing that in?? OMG!!!! I never saw an asbestos lined chimney! Definitely interesting to walk through that house. You should ask him approx. payout he will be getting to see if he is even in your ballpark.... Good stuff!
he was brazing in the basement with a torch and caught the house on fire that is my guess/assumption
@@Lewdacris916 got something hot like an insulated wall and it smoldered lightly and then lit off when he left.. ive seen it before where a plumber got a piece of ROMEX too hot and after it cooled, the insulation breachjed and caused an arc which lit off a fire.. (at least thats how the fire investigator explained it was the insulation shrinks when it is heated then cools and can cause internal shorts... so it doesnt show up as a fire till some time later)
@@eldoradoboy okay but the root cause was probably brazing...
@@Lewdacris916 for sure.. and tis the plumber's responsibility to heat shield anything combustible when putting a torch on a pipe... I think propress fittings are rated to 250 so in tight areas near comnbustibles it might be a better option..
@chris C asbestos is actually a fire retardant to a high degree. That’s probably why it was in the chimney. Asbestos is also nonflammable and noncombustable
I would not take on that job headaches for months, she’s a crispy one mama! Total chuch guy 😂-Steve lav Towlie says “Don’t forget to bring a towel!” I hate when customers make me wait too time is $$$ bro! You’re a maniac Mikey god I love it!! Hope this gets pinned!!! God bless, stay safe and be well!
yah that job is a fucking mess and the slumlord is an idiot
The first one would be interesting to see you do...............
@@PipeDoctor to much involved is that the reason..... crew etc
Not worrys mike i can handle that entire small home rough-in plumbing else I can run copper pipe for water line I don't like used of plastic pex or cpvc for water line
Thumbs up
Mikey Pipes, what would you do if you have the I don’t wanna do it price and he agreed? Ed
Ok that’s scary u called that he wasn’t home 😮😅
Doing it right is cheaper than doing it again. Someone thought cheap was okay
I hate when people think there time is more important than yours
I had a fire on one of my buildings on an apartment the tenant had connected so many extensions on two searches protected 6 outlet strips and shorted one of the wires running his office chair over and over it just the heated air inside was 550 Fahrenheit the fire chief told because things on the shelves all the way on front of the building melted from the intense heat
46 k . Almont there . Almost 50 !
Gee, if he used Pro-Press, the house wouldn’t have burned 🤷♂️
Gotta agree, nice, clean business. I think you just might get the job anyway
There’s not many major jobs, especially where transitioning from or to copper is involved, that you can get it done without using a torch somewhere. ProPress is great, and it will reduce the risk of fire on most jobs, but sometimes you just have to use a torch on an “all-ProPress” job. During the rebuilding of the Pentagon after the 9-11 attacks, the use of torches was strictly limited and supervised, and all of the copper work had to be done using ProPress. If a torch was required, its proposed use had to go through a chain of command for approval and scheduling - even if the work was to be prefabricated in the massive parking lot. I didn’t work that job - I found this out while chatting with a couple of the guys doing the work as I was waiting in line (“on line” in Mike’s world) at the counter of the supply house, just a few minutes from the Pentagon. They were there picking up ProPress fittings they had ordered. This was so early in the life of ProPress in the USA that the largest supply houses around didn’t even stock the fittings above 3/4” at their branches.
This poor guy has a nightmare on his hands.
Dude hired a plumber then as soon as the guy left Mr.Schindler ran down stairs with his torch and lit his dry joists on fire next to where the guy was soldering and called the FDNY. Plumbers don't burn down houses themselves. Roofers burn down houses all the time and "plumbers" cut corners usually at the landlords request and fires happen later but I find it very hard to believe a guy was running some pex and mounting circs to unistrut on a concrete wall and caused a fire. I have lit joists on fire being dumb doing repair work but they go right out and I always have a spray bottle on hand. I don't believe this guy and the fact that he is handling his claim himself and wants to repipe the entire house is a huge red flag. It takes 2 years of school to get into the elevator trade and I bet this guy figured he was smart enough to scam his insurance and get himself a very desirable 2 family house that he can sell for a cool million.
@@PipeDoctor Metalbestos chimney liner sounds like asbestos but doesn't contain any asbestos if it was installed in 1960. I bet that plumber wished he recorded all his work like you do.
This smells BAD.
1. He's handling the insurance
2. Running pex doesn't have brazing or soldering.
3. I don't see anything started with the old boiler. Just the circulators mounted and pex run.
4. Just enough damage to renovate the place and blame someone else.
Who's to say he wouldn't give you the same treatment.
The best jobs are the ones you don't do...
Notice he laughs while saying “they’re blaming the plumber ! Hahaha 😅😅”
It's not hard to see why your hourly rate is what it is, free estimates? There is an electrician in ihe mid west that charges a nominal ($50?) fee, you might consider that.
time = money in business
Very common to see transite chimneys!
@@PipeDoctor Almost any house up here built before 1960 has it!Alot of guys dont know what it looks like, they assume its concrete!
calm down de'niro...! :P lol
@@PipeDoctor lmao had to look up who that was''
Oh my god. That plumber needs jail time. I can't believe it wasn't worse. That guys house needs more than just a heating system installed. And he'll never be able to get that smell out of his house. I'd start completely over.
@@PipeDoctor do you know what the hell happened exactly? Did he fuck up the burners and it was a gas explosion that started that shit on fire? It was it simply the over temp of the pex line?
Lmao getting high and getting work done 😂😂😂
US heating is bizarre, why have a separate gas burner for the water heater?
Did he say 2 blocks or 2 minutes?
the first guy, 180K for the job, plus materials 🤣
Don't be late for your walk through with Mikey Pipes!
He is gonna get a bunch of guys that don't speak any english to do his entire house and then he is gonna be shocked when he has to pay someone else to fix it all before he can sell. Why does he not want baseboard?
@@PipeDoctor yes if you want to replace everything, most people would want to go all forced air in North America.
he actually said two blocks not two minutes
No
Dam that guy is over his head . He need GC
Take the job Mikey… just plan it out … I have seen you and your crew work. What a great experience for you all..sounds like the customer wants to do things right… and called you cause he thought you could handle it… ecobee stat with the baby bee sensor for the win… you could mount the thermostat to the machine so only a tech had access
@@PipeDoctor yes only the already rich could afford all that work in one go, especially if you want name brand everything.
if you give me a 2 hour window and complain that I’m not there at the start of your 2 hour window….. that’s your fault. Narrow your window.
I think I'd agree with ole' Peter Pan on the grounds that the poor guy got hella traumatized that a **hack plumber** almost burned his house down, and that he has good history and rapport with Mikey Pipes the Pipe God that he's willing to play the big job like the movie "blank check".
I'd be readying my wallet, bending over and getting myself ready the the pipe doctor to do his work 😅. At least he uses lube and the work done is practically guarenteed to be of good quality and won't burn my house down.
you sound like the bird from cheech and chong
Two blocks away is code for I just left my girlfriend’s house and you’re early
So what happened to you and Kay in SC? You two have a lovers spat!
house fires are no joke.. the heat builds VERY quickly.. if you thimk about how big the flames are in a 100,000 BTU gas furnace. .and then judging from the pictures of that fire.. it was probably 6 or 7 times the size already of a gas furnace burner.. thats gonna heat a space up quickly.. the RADIANT heat is what causes ignition of other items even though the air tempo isnt that hot yet.. 5 more minutes and that fire wouldve been up that chaseway for the flue and FDNY wouldve had a 2 alarm on their hands.. whats interesting to me is this guy wants to swap everythinbg, remodel everything.. yet no talk of A/C? im assuming hes gonna rent the place and after the rmeodel not cheaply yet no A/C??
Cold chicken. 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
So the previous plumber is getting sued by the insurance company for burning down the house? yeah walk away from that shit lol. Also the slumlord is way out of his element, and probably a cheapskate. Didnt want to hire professionals
One you don't want to see , A FIRE FROM PLUMBER , poo happens , but work is work and it happens , as to who and why , its a job at this point . You may have saved yourself some greif.

1st that plumber is !@#$%^&. That is a huge job to replace everything in that house. CHA CHING

Idk hate shit like that would rather rip everything out and start fresh
23:50 Lets be a lil bit real here, technically your dispatcher don't respect the people paying you guy's time. Since they told someone between 9-11 which literally means anytime after 9 but before 11. & actually that just happened to me recently they kept showing up early which is cool as long as they call the number they were told (the guys i dealt with from the company i dealt with didn't.) But would it not be easier just to say if your going show up at say 9 that I'll be there at 9 but if i get busy than there's a good chance i won't be there till around 10 or vice versa? Its seems like alot of these are non emergency's so its not like they are gunna stop their business when they were told after 9 but before 11. Not a rant or anything wrong with it, just something to think about telling the people that give out the times for ya.
