I remember back in 1998-2000 I was Civil Engineering rep on Water Main & Valve replacement all over Bay Ridge Brooklyn...Everything from 20" Feeds/Valves to 8" Street piping...Vid took me back a few years!

  • @kens.3729

Great Job Updating the Piping around the Shutoff.👍🙏

  • @stefboulas

    Great job Mikey!

  • @scottapt5291

You can use jumper cables to maintain your ground until you complete the repair and reconnect the ground conductor.

  • @BartlettTFD

I think Mikey needs to ask Santa for a wearable LED head LIGHT❗️😂

  • @davidlampe4153

Nice job on the fence post for turning the water off on the street.

Thx. That galvanized appears to have made a nice heat sink. You are patient.

  • @Chris_In_Texas

Mike, be careful of removing grounds, they actually can carry current, as there is a lot of leakage in modern electronics. It can easily be enough to kill you. Also if there is any sort of neutral wire issues, all the house current could be using that ground lead. Its possible to have 120VAC on that line and create an arc. A good way to verify is to use a clamp on meter to just see if there is any current running though the pipe / wire. The safest way is of course to turn off the power to the house with the main breaker, which I know won't happen, but its the best way.

  • @scottmaz4063

Map gas and turbo torch done!

  • @johnniwa308

I just paid for the repairs of the city sidewalk.. it's not cheap in Albuquerque NM.

  • @scottmaz4063

Mine at curb blew out few years ago. New 1 front left side in middle of lawn.

  • @peter-pg5yc

In san jose ca they change curb stop on the fly and really fast. blink you missed it

  • @shahsmerdis

We did the same thing with a piece of old black pipe. 😂. I'll post in the group chat lol

  • @eddiew.6485

  • @MokenaBob

In the Midwest, they are called buffalo boxes. The city put that shut-off valve right where the public sidewalk is located. Needless to say, there is a problem

  • @pengwang4059

    very beautiful plumbing done

  • @Riker-eq2yv

I left New York State in 2005 for sunny Florida and lower taxes. Also my city just replaced a few of my sidewalk slabs not for cracking but because of discoloration. Plus no charge

  • @bobt4949

Sooooo, which neighbor is missing a fence post? Lol!!!

  • @scottvolage1752

Keeping the old ways alive because they still work when needed.

  • @buildingoperator3132

shit! that"s a good one. in boston cant even attempt it. water division has to do it. froze many lines cause they take for ever to show up.
