- Samsung Galaxy S23, being the only non-Apple device I am currently using. Why don’t I just get an iPhone and be fully invested in the Apple ecosystem? Here are the reasons I use a Samsung phone.

It’s surprising your using a base Samsung S23 model because most tech reviewers uses + or ultra model
I love the base model because of the size and usability. With a giant screen, I can barely reach certain parts and feel like I'm going to drop the phone all the time. As long as they still keep the flagship cameras, I'm golden.
@@jeffreytu then you're probably happy the S24 is finally on even ground with the rest of the series this year.
@jeffreyio need to use one hand both in options and in Goodlock...cause the S Pen has Bluetooth to take remote pictures
@@jebaker2 not really. Samsung is still gimping the specs by not offering 45W charging and 12Gb RAM
@@Beylliontbh most casual users of the standard s24 won't even be able to maximize the use of 12gb ram, it makes sense to offer it for the more premium models which more power users or content creators will make best use of it. As for the charging that I agree with at least make it on par with the premium ones faster charging is always a big plus.
It's always refreshing to come across another S23 owner especially when comparing the S23 with an Iphone. The base S23 is so under appreciated by the phone community. Thanks for your in-depth review!
Because when you got Ultra ya got everything
@@DENVEROUTDOORMAN you got brick in hand
not everyone wants a huge slab of phone on their hands, its sad the mini iphones died but nevertheless at least samsung still offers the vanilla S non ultra version
The ultra is a beast for sure but they both have the same chip. Only difference is bigger screen battery and an extra camera. That's it. Everything else is the same.
@@jonfreeman9682no it isn't
Been using samsung phones since elementary school, I was considering trying out iphone for the first time this year for a change, but I chnanged my mind when I watched this video.
Android keyboard is game changing for me, especially the clipboard and number row at the top. Multitasking is so great.
Yes Apple keyboard sucks. First thing I downloaded when I moved, was Swiftkey 😂
look through the settings for the keyboard, (at least on samsung) you can enable the kind of second page of the keyboard to be available from the first one, for example if you want to type @, you don't have to go to the second page instead you can just hold S and it pops up.
100% agree with you on all your comments regarding Samsung and Android features. I have been a Samsung user since I switched to a smartphone. Another feature I love about them are the battery life, they are very solid. I had my Galaxy A20 for 4 years and it was still going strong until I decided to upgrade.
Modern iPhones battery life is the same if not better than samsung due to their redesign since the 13.
@@portman8909 NOT true. Actually, iPhones are moving backward with both battery life & heatlh. 😩
There are numerous complaints on Reddit & other social-media platforms about the iP 14 Pro/Max battery health (and in fact, a good friend of mine is experiencing that with his 14 PM). And too many iP 15 Pro/Max users are still experiencing overheating on their devices, which shortens battery life (due to 🔋 drain).
From everything I'm hearing, the iPhone "battery champs" seem to be the 13 Pro Max, and the 15 Plus.

I did this too. I use mac for work and samsung phone for daily driver, because I want each device perform well for my needs. And I don't bother with ecosystem. Productivity and satisfaction is what I looking for.
I have a MacBook, iMac, iPad but I use a Sammy =) but wasn't always like that. I made the switch 2 months ago. I don't think I will go back to iPhones ever again. With a Sammy I feel more free and in control. Great video!

Thank you. I am deciding on a new phone. I have a Galaxy S9+ so i am really due an update! however i have a macbook pro, a ipad pro and airpods. I really like customizing my samsung as well as the back button and have been trying to decide which phone to upgrade to. You are the first you tuber ive seen present this view point which supports exactly how i feel. I do not need an ecosystem for work but would like to send and recieve photos and videos in high quality as well. Thank you again- this helps!
Great video! I love apple devices (I have none right now) but I ended up choosing a S23+ as my personal device and I am beyond happy, what Android still offers is awesome, and I'm glad it is still an option with that many features. Please continue doing great videos like this one! 🎉
You know, I have never heard of someone having such a setup. Without a doubt, intriguing ans eye opening at the same time. Base S23 is such an amazing phone. Thank you for this really interesting perspective
Thanks for the insights / content. Some of them might consider it for the upcoming s24
Dude, bravo 👏🏼 excellent video. No bashing of what you don’t use, just straight facts on why you use the devices you use. You earned a sub!
New subscriber here. I really love this content because it's about Samsung Flagship. The way you conveyed the detail is also precise. Keep it up!
Thank you for an insightful review regarding a mixed ecosystem of products. I really became a Samsung fan with my Galaxy Note Ultra and I have not looked back. However, I was interested in the ecosystem that Apple products offered. So, I began my review of the Apple MacBook Air and iPad. For me, I became even more impressed with Samsung Galaxy offerings in laptop, tablet, watch and earbuds. In my use case of business, productivity, student, light creation and gaming. I found that Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360, TabS tablet, earbuds and watch offered the best features and integrated performance of the Windows/Android operating systems I have seen to date. With Samsung Galaxy, all the products work extremely well together and offer exclusive features and apps like Samsung Notes and the S Pen. I use these features everyday across my smartphone, tablet and PC. It is unreal how this can enhance your productivity from note taking to solving problems long hand.
Good video. Keep them coming.
Good video. I have gone back and forth for years but now I use an iPad, iMac and a Galaxy S23. Rcs coming in September really solidifies it for me. Also, Galaxy watches are great. Watches are meant to be round and the notification options are much better.
I want to get the s24 ultra! so many amazing features. Thank you for sharing your experience! I have been an iPhone user since the iPhone 5 days will be excited to try it out
How do you setup a work profile on your s23? I just use the secure folder and people from internet says its the "new" work profile.
Thank you for sharing this experience
What password manager do you use? Samsung passwod, or Google? And how do you synchronize your password with your mac?
First time seeing your vids, I liked them, thumbs up for you!
Interesting how my Samsung phone pulsated when you said "Hey Google". Bro is always ready
Or Samsung s Bixby...but you don't need to use hey...just Google or Bixby

Great video. I am in the same boat with you I have Macs at home and I've always had Samsung phones. The file sharing is my biggest aggravation . I'd like to know how you get smart switch to work on a Mac. My understanding was it does not work. With new Max Sonoma, I cannot even get DEX to work
Great video! I was especially impressed with the separation between the work and personal life in the operating system.
Very informative 👏
when people at my job tell me that their Apple EcoSystem is so great, I reply saying the Samsung EcoSystem is great too and wider. I have a S24 Ultra, Galaxy Watch 5 and Tab S9 and they are great together. plus you can also have your Samsung TV and prepare your coffee on your Samsung Coffeee Machine while checking the time on your samsung refrigerator
there is also Galaxy Book
Samsung has 2 features called quick share and nearby share that you can use when transferring large video files and photo files. I've used them before and work very well fast.
Exactly ....one of them gives you a link to share photos etc for perfect quality
Been on both iOS and Android, but mostly on iOS now. But I really miss the back button. On iOS, going back to previous page vary between apps and is really makes navigation inconsistent
In screen fingerprint, internet speed indicator, dual screen, long screenshoot, more organized gallery, etc 😅.
I only miss the Android keyboard.
The swiping to go back is so much more convenient.
And in-screen fingerprint. Face scan stuff is lame.
secure folder hands down the best integrated software feature so as the maintenance mode which is a big relief to the Samsung users as everyone has concerns while repairing their phones that the repair shop might sneak out into your data in the name of checking your phone but that concerns remains no more with this maintenance mode feature
I didn't know about maintenance mode! That is a great feature.
I switched to an iPhone for the first time last year and I'm just counting days until the release of S24 Ultra so I can go back to Android!
Same!!!!!

Shame on you going to Crapple
@@DENVEROUTDOORMANi know i know, won’t happen again. In my defense i preordered the s22U with exynos chip and the better life was just abysmal. With nothing else on the horizon and seeing the iphone camera improvements with the 14 pro i jumped on it. I thought i would get used to it. Nope. Hate that phone.

For the air drop alternative, youtuber tausif hussein has used one with his s23 ultra and liked it very much
Me too. I use Samsung Note 20 Ultra and have an ipad 8. I bought an ipad just because my previous workplace use a specific OS in Apple. But, I love both.
I have a windows laptop, an S21 Ultra and Airpods Pro.
I like the flexibility of android, the airpods are just very comfortable and small.
REALLY good & useful video, Jeffrey !! 👍🏻 You've earned a new Sub 🙌🏻
Perhaps the only things you left out are Samsung's DeX mode, RAM Plus, Developer Options, and the general customization options of Samsung/Android (which could even include unlocking bootloaders, rooting options, etc -- for the uber-nerds 😅).
Ram Plus Is garbage unless you got cheap A series
And no need for bootloader or rooting
@@DENVEROUTDOORMAN It's most def NOT "garbage" 😆 That said, I lowered RAM Plus on my Galaxy S22 Ultra from 8 GB to 4 GB, and haven't seen a major difference (I'm still able to keep ~200 tabs open in my mobile Chrome browser with seemingly zero overall performance "hiccups" 😁).
I've heard many arguments against RAM Plus, some less credible (it degrades flash-drive longevity & performance), some a bit more credible (it can lower battery life & slow the phone's performance). One thing I continue to ❤️ about Samsung is that they give us so many OPTIONS to customize our devices as WE wish.
@sharkfintech5893 nope still garbage 200 tabs???? I got 12 gb Ram don't need to lose storage for more
@@DENVEROUTDOORMAN Hey "genius" -- I have the 512 GB /12 GB RAM model...of which I'm only using 71 GB of ROM. So I'm happy to allocate 8 GB of that ROM to virtual RAM for increased multi-tasking. I don't believe that I'll ever get _close_ to using the remaining 433 GB of storage (out of an effective 504 GB) !
I have always been a Samsung phone user (since my first smartphone, the original galaxy S, after moving on from Nokia) and and iPad user since 2014...My main computer has always been Windows however. Currently I have a Samsung S23, airpods 3 for my phone, both iPad pro and Samung Tab S9 and a thinkpad with airpods pro 2. I will never be an iPhone user and your video made me realize how many advantages I have over iPhone. Here in Europe nobody cares about iMessage. Airdrop is not a big deal since I sync everything with Dropbox and if necessary I use sendanywhere. I miss multicontrol though... I might move to a Macbook only if they made one as light as my thinkpad nano and with cellular (not happening) or a desktop where you could upgrade RAM and storage (even less likely). I won't give up the iPad pro, but I use my Samsung S9 and and S8 ultra more and more... I love my airpods
Well presented!
I legit have whole eco system like you
Mac Book Air
Ipad Air
and Tada Samsung s20 and I can't agree with you more, samsung does give so much value and especially the back button makes it so much easier at the end of the day.
Hi. I am using a similar setup. But for me the back buttons are a thing of the past as I find the gesture based swipes more convenient & getting more screen estate. Why dont you like gestures? Regards
If the gestures are doing right then it maybe not a problem.. iOS gestures is good for left handed people.. for right handed one..meh.. Android gestures are more user friendly than iOS..and being able to revert to old classic button navigation is a plus for some old people who prefered classics over modernization..not everything about tech can be forced..
Hello Jeffery. Why do my iCloud emails return after deleting them on my Android phone? It just started happening. Any idea?
Thanks for sharing. I live the “mixed” life as well. I’ve learned workarounds for iMessage, AirMessage, etc.
Great video, I agree with you love mac laptops and ipads but much prefer Samsung phones. With that bieng said do you happen to know a good way to tether Samsung s23 to macbook pro for internet service when traveling? Thank you so much in advance.

iPhone is good but overated. People and tech reviewers has talked so much about using an iPhone but after almost 20 months with one, i'm not impressed by nothing. Each single feature i have on Android, i lose it on iOS.
I guess, i will keep my iPhone to the end but i won't buy another one. Android brings a lot more to the table.
Just like secure folder, don't forget about multiple user accounts on Android. You can pass the phone to a progeny, parent, or spouse and avoid tainting your main profile.
They took that out
@@DENVEROUTDOORMAN Wrong. I have it and use it on my latest Android.
Great video. It's nice to be able to use whatever technology you like. Regardless of being Apple or Samsung or any other company.
Great video. I’m in the same boat but can’t make the jump because the Apple calendar won’t sync with the Samsung or Google calendar and I can’t get my apple email on the Samsung phone
It's an interesting video from a practical perspective. I've been a Windows and Android guy since the beginning. I'm more open to switch to a MacBook than switching to iPhone right now. Actually only the battery annoys me on my Windows laptop, apart from that I am fine.
Currently I also see more benefits in Android which stop me from switching, the keyboard is an important one, for example. (I use special characters like Á É Ö Ü which are best on special layout only Gboard on Android has)
The Airpods are almost perfect but I'd probably use earbuds with multipoint support (like my current Huawei Freebuds Pro 3 right now).
I have an iMac and I find even the user interface is so confusing and requires so many extra steps to do some stuff like sharing files etc. I hate that if you want to copy/paste and you don't remember their weird keyboard icons that you still end up pulling up the menu to see them. Why can't they they just put CTRL or ALT on their keyboard like everyone else.
That’s almost like my setup. On top of what was listed, I also prefer Samsung for multitasking, fast charging, and ability to pause while recording video. When it comes to earbuds however, I go with generic brands… some have great battery life and I have a tendency to lose them so it hurts less when I only spend $30 on a pair.
The worst part about BT earbuds -- ESP expensive ones -- is that users can't replace the battery.
The battery life on my Samsung Galaxy Live buds (purchased Black Friday of 2021) is getting progressively worse. I've for the most part "babied" them, but since I used them nearly every day for over 2 years now, their battery life & health isn't nearly what it once was.
Thankfully, I won a pair of Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro buds in a giveaway this past summer, so I've relegated the Samsungs to outdoor use and as backup buds.
@sharkfintech5893 same... I didn't baby them, but the ones I got free with my S20 Ultra also died after two years of nesr daily use.
Thank u so much. I am thinking that I want Ipad to edit my clips from Samsung phone.
This is the kind of set up I have. 3 apples and one samsung. Thanks!
Nice video!
Great video. Like you, I too use both eco systems: Apple for computing and Samsung for mobile.
Great video. I published an article in my student newspaper on the same topic last year of how Android is far superior to iphone.
Good job 👍
Many people say they don't do android because it lags without knowing the principles behind lagging and choosing to stick to some brainwashed worldly mentality. Great Video and Great Beginning though 💯👏
Make a video on honest review of s23 over mid rangers mobiles and ya compare its performance too with an expected iPhone 🎉
You should try the ultra version it is the best phone until now even thou against iphone 15 and z fold 5 .... Even i dump my laptop and working only use my s23 ultra with the samsung dex features
Thank you for this! I was wondering if it was pointless to get a Macbook as someone with Samsung phone and tablet. But, this is good to know it doesn't make that much of a difference if I never switch my phone.
I too have Mac Mini, ipad and Macbook Pro for years, but struggled with the idea going iPhone because it has some limits and can be very boring as they are not really customizable compare to my pixel. I was open and considering going with an iPhone but think I will be upgrading to a Pixel 8.

Could someone guide me on accessing the director's view on a Samsung phone? Is this feature pre-installed, and is it exclusive to the S23? I remember the old Samsung Galaxy S7 having a similar feature. I own a Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus and A34, but I can't find the director's view in the camera app. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
It looks like it might only be a feature in the S-line (starting for S21). If you go to the camera app, tap "more", it should be there. If not, then it's not available on the phone I guess.
goood video, and explanation
What do you use to manage android on your Mac? This has always been an issue.
I use Windows and don't need to manage Android, why would you?
How transfer photos from Samsung phone to the apple iCloud ?
I know people rave about the Apple eco-system but the idea of it actually puts me off getting an Iphone. I'm scared that one purchase would inevitably lead to another whereas i am more than happy using just my Samsung phone and a windows laptop
Lol, yeah I feel ya. I recently changed from a S23 to Iphone 15 pro (first iPhone ever). I really wanted Lidar for work applications, and face unlock as I often wear gloves, so when they finally implemented USB-C I changed.
..It was not long before I swapped out my Buds 2 pro for Air pods pro 2. Then my Galaxy Watch 4 for Apple Watch Ultra 2. In those cases I was thrilled with the upgrades they are over their Samsung counterparts- but now I'm starting to eye up MacBook's which would functionally be a downgrade over a windows laptop for me, and also swapping my Galaxy tab 7 for an ipad even though I seldom use it... all for that lure of the ecosystem.
I use a Mac and a S23. It's just hard to exchange archives between the computer and the cell.
The things the post important for me is not having a clipboard on iPhones. Btw amazing videos keep it up man
I agree... All that you msntioned plus... Customization which includes the home screen and lock screen. Add good lock to the mix and its even more unique. I cant do iPhone. To each their own but im just like you. I own a Macbook Pro and iPad.
That Director's View is dope. Does that appear in your camera role as it does in this video? Meaning, does it export a single video of the Picture-in-Picture?
The pip only works with the front camera if you want to do vlog style and it records which ever rear camera you have selected.
@@jeffreytu that seems like it would be great for lots of applications. It’s essentially two cameras in one; if you want a POV AND for the viewer to see whatever you’re looking at. I had no clue Samsung could do this.
I just returned my 3rd Pixel 8 after a great run with a Pixel 7. Currently on an iPhone 15 Pro and it’s just meh.
From the UK. Here iphone users tend to use WhatsApp over imessage. Lol when you said "hey google" my nest home activated. Very encouraging video, I used to have samsungs from 2011 to 2017 and kind of wish I'd never switched. I got fully enmeshed in the apple ecosystem a few years ago with an iphone, 2 macs, ipad, airpods, and apple watch(back when I had money lol). I do love the cohesiveness of the ecosystem, I love starting a task on my mac and being able to pick it up on my phone but I'm getting kind of annoyed with apple's crap lately though. They had to be legally forced into enabling sideloading and even now they're only grudgingly complying in the EU. I still need a computer or a hacky workaround just to get a custom ringtone on my phone. No consistent back button after 17 years is just ridiculous. Even the base models are too big and chunky now, and the iphone 16s are only going to get bigger. I use an SE 3 now and love it, but it's not going to last forever and rumors say the SE 4 is going to be 6.1" with face ID. Ugh. I absolutely _despise_ face ID and I know I'll be forced into it once my SE3 finally dies, so samsung phones and their fingerprint scanners are looking mighty nice. I can live with a 6.1" phone if it means I get to keep my fingerprint scanner.

So this is good if you need to transfer files wirelessly. hope this help!!!
Might want to change that secure folder code after this video 🙂
Being able to swiftly share any files to ALL KINDS OF DEVICE must be like a basic thing between the technology world and not like an ecosystem exclusive-only feature just saying. Other things can go and still be ecosystem exclusive maybe idk
Can you share how to separate in Android the personal and workplace?
You need Google Workspace, which will give you device management control. Unfortunately, it's not free.
I am doing the same thing. Samsung S24 phone and all others are Apple devices. I think the apple watch is not working so well. I lost airdrop, iMessage (sending messages on my MacBook), and I miss Face ID - Samsung has some face biometric but it's not working so well.
i have all Samsung eco system
but my main phone is Huawei Nexus 6P 🗿
on android there is nearby share and quick share with are both very similar to airdrop altough im not sure if it works on apple devices
How do you share high quality pictures between the two?

We're on the same boat. Got my Galaxy phone, watch and buds. Also, got my MacBook, iPad and airpods. 😂

Im still an Android loyalist, even though I might be getting the iPhone 15. As soon as Apple announced RCS support, my interest in the iPhone dropped like a rock. (I was mostly interested in the iMessage feature.) Though, I would keep the 15 to try, but I probably still prefer my midrange Samsung Galaxy A53 5G even if it's half the price of the iPhone 15.
What is so special or tempting about iMessage? Especially being an Android user? I have installed Beeper and Beeper mini but I did not message anyone on iMessage :D
