The S24 Ultra is Snapdragon everywhere, only the S24 and S24+ have Exynos in certain regions
Yes but the processoris the same in the three versions so….. they can make it match with there exynos for the other two. Even thought europeans will never get the snapdragon in the s24…. So there was never a comparison they can make.

6:57 Samsung's own site & specs sheet says S24 Ultra charges at 45W max (9V5A), so did the Labs Team mess up saying you charged it from 0~100% charging at 65W?
Yes, sometimes these tech guys are just content creators at the end of the day
No, the website uses the measurments with the "included" charger, LTT used an third party charger. This was also mentioned in the video
they probably used a 65W charger and assumed it charged at 65W, like the average consumer would
@cd6583 That's what rather below average consumer would assume.
No, they did their research, the S24 Ultra does support 65W. Only the official Samsung Charger that's for sale so far is 45W. Try not to spread misinformation.@@cd6583

You're going to love it! This phone is sick!
I bought my Note 9 for the SD card expansion, the headphone jack and the hole-less display. The S24 Ultra doesn't have that, so it won't replace my Note 9
absolute true
That display is probably the most interesting thing I've seen in any new smartphone in the last 3 years at least! Combined with the scratch resistance Zach showed at least.
Theres a huge problem with the 50 and 200MP cameras right now. In software even with optimization off those two cameras will still optimize your photos in the gallery. This includes RAW format photos. The AI optimization of images is subtier in bed room brightness light.
do you know if Samsung solved these issues?
One thing about phones in the annual update cycle is there is only so much room for annual progress and you will really only be wowed when upgrading if you wait 4 or 5 years and even that is rarer and rarer.
True. I think even thought allot of stuff is better than the s23 bang for buck the s23 is way better for everyone thats not a mobile phone freak. The ai is coming in 6months btw
that's actually very good to know... i think i'll lean toward s23 ultra, cause it cost less and has minus differences from his later "s" brother. Only thing tho, that i really like is the flat display for cover purposes. @@nathanvrvrt
Yeah, I upgraded from an S7 Edge and everything on the new phone is just way better. I don't plan to change a phone again for a few good years for that reason, you don't get as much value from a new phone compared to your current one if you upgrade ever 1-3 years
Absolutely. I went from just a s10 plus to a s23 ultra last year year and even that was an insane jump.
Call me crazy but I "upgraded" today from an S10+ and I have seen a massive downgrade in over all colour vibrance! It's unbeliveable even with soft light on or off and messing vibrancy settings how little changes compared to the saturation of even a phone from 6 years ago! The camera, stabilization and all that are amazing but I wish there was more vibrancy ability in the settings!

I literally did the same upgrade from note 9 to s24 ultra. My old phone had a blown bottom speaker and the fingerprint sensor top film flaked off. Very happy with the upgrade so far. Refresh rate & visual clarity are awesome & the sound is huge!

@@SumitRaj-tk6iwokay we are not looking to crack the world in half.
titanium is less hard compared to steel.. just saying.
(and also less scratch resistant.. and also doesn't feel that nice.. and also way more expensive... and totally not necessary to put it on a phone which you have in a plastic case for 99% of the time anyway)
The OP sounds a lot like someone who hasn't consciously ever touched or held titanium. It's great for high temperature pneumatic systems on a large airliner, utterly pointless on a phone that's in a case.
@@CheapBastard1988 care to explain more about the HT hydraulic system you talk about?
I noticed, when testing the circle to search feature with the navigation features, changing the haptic response speed in accessibility settings improved the feature!
Circle to search is a thing on the Pixel line. Depending on the content, you can either long press to trigger it or hit the power button to bring it up and specify what on the screen you'd like to search for.
It was even here way before with the "select" tool in the recent apps menu, like a screenshot put in google lens but automatically. At the end the results are the same, juste 1 or 2 seconds faster with a circle

I agree got mine last Friday and love the feel of the phone in my hand. It was a bit of a battle readjusting my fingers to edge swipe flat vs having to dig in but the phone has been amazing. The brightness of the phone is stunning coming from my S21 Ultra. Camera is amazing coming from the 21 and the responsiveness of everything is so appreciated. My only gripe is that the saturation of color has to be fixed when it comes to natural vs vivid mode. I recognize that as someone who uses a DWF monitor that the colors may be somewhat more natural but I had a pseudo cyberpunk theme that contrasted a dark black blue with a deep bright red so that was extremely noticeable when I first turned on the phone. Though I have adjusted somewhat I still want that deep red. I am surprised that Linus didn't mention that. Though the anti glare armor is amazing. I almost don't want to put a screen protector on it. One last thing about the phone, going back to the brightness. It has made it difficult going back to my S9 Ultra because it doesn't look as bright as it used to before I got the 24.
9:52 Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro also received circle to search on January 31st. Im already in love with the feature.
Google did a great job at this AI.
That circle to search thing, I believe, has been available for the Pixel for quite a while.
The anti-glare screen is great though it is making it difficult for me to pick a screen protector. The only anti-glare one I can find right now is Samsung's official ones which are film. I know I've seen anti-glare glass protectors in the past, of all the phones not to make them ror!
Based on the Jerryrigeverything video, I'm going to see if the screen stays nice sans protector.
Do NOT use glass screen protectors on S series phones, your ultrassonic fingerprint sensor will NOT work.
@@TheFPSPower oh they can work as long as they are designed properly.
The gorilla glass on this phone is actually, for once, stronger than other gorilla glass. So it's less likely to scratch and break so you shouldn't need a screen protector

Gotta love how linus was gonna watch that hdr video but never did..
Higher PWM is the hidden feature not mentioned often
I've been daily driving an S22 Ultra since it launched nearly 2 years ago. It still feels very modern, and I see no reason to replace it. Nothing interesting, like a folding screen or whatever, but always very solid. And it works very well with the Killer App for Android: CZcams Revanced. I'll replace it in 2027 when it stops receiving security updates I guess.
Exact same as you
I love my S22U I've had it since launch it's running so darn good no need to upgrade it's also in mint condition.
Imo you'd have to be crazy to upgrade your phone every 1-2 years. I think the vast majority of people use the same phone for 4-6 years at a time, and that's been the case for a long while now.
From Samsung's lineup, this is worth starting to consider if you're on an s21 or older, looks like a big upgrade if you're on a note9 or older. S22 and 23 users are crazy if they've looking at this for anything other than getting an idea of what the s26 looks like when it comes time for them to upgrade.
I had an s22u since the launch that had a crack on the screen that Samsung was going to give me $450 trade in for it, so I jumped on the deal and upgraded. I had no other reason to upgrade other than to get some money for my old phone. I will say the form factor is almost the same in hand, but it feels like a good upgrade in every single way. I know my situation is different, but I feel it was a worthy upgrade.
I am rocking a note 20 ultra since late 2020. I feel like I can hold until 2026 or so, 12gb RAM and 256gb storage is still solid to this day, and battery lasts a full day with ease still.
Most likely when they mentioned marking the image itself, they also mean in ways that we can't spot visually but which a computer can.
Tbh there isn’t much to change I mean it’s not like they can just make a full on animated icon pack live wallpaper and like 15 sponsorship versions with custom first party mods….
Although that would be pretty cool if they did it
This is the second video in a row that the tech guy used Govee lights in the background!! Love to see it!
Google Lens image search has been a thing for a long time, the only difference here is that you can draw a precise circle rather than a resizable box
it's also way easier to do now( no screenshots required)
@@markopolic9964you've never needed to take a screenshot. There's a button for it in Google assistant.

Though sone of the changes are indeed great I cannot justify an upgrade from 23 series, especially from 23 Ultra. I think that its worth upgrading if you're coming from at least 22 series
That "magic circle select" is not exclusive feature of 24.... it's Pixel feature. On the apps screen you can tap select, select any image in any opened app and click "googel lense". Samsung simply put that begind gesture, but it's absolutely there on Pixel. And on pixel it allows you to select text as well

And here I am still trucking along with my S7 Edge
Anyone notice the glare on the screen? Sharp angles it's a mirror, but direct 90 degree angles the image is blurred.
I'ma use that reverse image search so much 💀
I honestly laugh every time I see a video on the S24 not having very many upgrades, because they are all talking about the S23... I just got one, but it was an upgrade from an S10. Worlds apart and I'm so happy lol!
Yeah, the S24 Ultra is actually an S23 Ultra Ti (because of the titanium).

Oh damn, flat screen? Better for screen protectors. (And yes I need one. I've shattered 2 on my S23 Ultra).
I also still just want a top bezel for a seamless no notch display, nice speaker for calls, proper selfie flash, and an LED indicator. That's the feature I miss the most.
Okay, now we're talking. This is the very first phone of theirs that I would consider a worthwhile upgrade from my Note 9. Apart from maybe the Folds, but they're still asking a _lot_ more than I'm willing to part with for those, so they're off the table for now.

11:50 did they crop the video so we couldnt see that instead of clicking "Remove shadows" he clicked "erase" and wondered why it didnt remove the shadow??
One thing I havnt seen discussed as much is how much easier it is to make screen protectors now that this thing is completly flat. My biggest issue with my s23 ultra has been its insistence to not let any screen protector I use not peel or completely ruin the ability to use the fingerprint reader.
Also when you put most cases on you can't even see the edges, so it's pointless having a curved screen.
The only screen protectors that I was satisfied with on my n10u, n20u, and s22u were the whitestone-style ones. At 20 bucks a pop after buying the installation jig and light. Together with cases only coming up halfway on the sides to keep the curved edges open, the curved screen experience for me personally was not the best. I'm glad I switched to the s24u.
@@GH0STST4RSCR34MNo it wasn't. It's impossible to find proper glass protectors because they always peel up if they aren't PERFECTLY aligned
Dbrand says its not completely flat, only the display area. They tweeted about this.
@@GH0STST4RSCR34M My guy nobody can line it up perfectly, that's the issue. This is a great format for reviewing products, dropping someone in at the deep end with the item and just telling them about what features exist, and letting them figure it out in real time.
Not really since they end up missing a TON OF THINGS, especially when there is no main channel video properly showing what the phone can do

I love my iphone for video.. but a lot of the other stuff not so much.
Circle to Search is currently Samsung and Pixel exclusive now thou.
as a very niche user who occasionally draws with the s pen honestly the flat screen is huge it really stops the pen like dropping off the screen!
Just to be clear this phone does not support 65W charging like they stated in the video it only does up to 45W just like the previous model did
Even then a 25w charger is just as fast 0-100%. It only hits 45w for a few seconds before dropping way down.
never used or cared for an s pen in my life. Got this phone and starting using it all the time wth samsung, now hurry up and update the vivid colors
Get used to natural colors and it wont matter. I ran vivid on a s22u for a long time then swapped to natural and prefer it now.
First phone with a s-pen for me as well, having big fingers, this is sooo nice for some applications, I also take alot of notes and begin to appreciate the pen for drawings some ideas that are difficult to write in words and such. The glare reduction outside is awesome too !
Maybe throttling so it maintains efficiency and consistency. It isn’t a specific gaming device like some of the other phones in comparison but it does game very well. I do wish qi2 was in this model but it’s all good, plenty of MagSafe cases to include Dbrand ghost and grip, benks has about five cases which are all nice, ringke and some spigen.
I still got the base s21. Will probably upgrade to s25 ultra next. The battery life, performance, and screen brightness are reasons enough for me to upgrade. As of tight now, im fine waiting another year or 2.
9:53 it‘s obvious not exclusive to the s24, it’s a google thing, as you said 😁 pixel 8 does it for quite some time now (since it’s from google, you know…)
Google phones are trash
Why is everyone acting like a single one of these AI tricks is remotely new and doesn't already exist in some way on literally every android device. Some of these function through the built in apps already. Like "circle to search" is just Google lens. You can do all these things through random apps already. Besides, something being offloaded to process over some cloud is not a feature of the device since the device itself cannot perform that function. That's like calling Playstation's remote play app a feature of the iPhone 15
Circle to search has got to be the coolest feature of a phone the past few years...Truly nuts
It’s very convenient, but It’s nothing you couldn’t already do with Google Lens. I don’t have an S24 yet, so I’m not sure, but I can’t imagine that it will be too much of a game changer for the average user.
Shadow eraser and object eraser were on every samsung with core UI 5 so this is not a new feature. I have it on my S20 since at least last year
The same goes for Object eraser and Remaster picture. Even removing blur has been part of Remaster picture for years. I never forgot that three years ago my Note 10 surprised me with the suggestion to correct one of my daughter's pictures: it unblurred her face and hairs, but you could not find any reference to this feature. The marketing team at Samsung does not know how to do the job.

I loved curved displays on galaxies I had the s6 edge and definitely my favorite phone for example.
Where is the Oneplus 12 review?
You mean xizinping phone?

i like the shape of it. reminds me good old cars before they became "aerodynamic"
Yo they got rid of the curved edges?! Nice! That's like the only thing I hate about my phone. That right there is enough to make me want to finally upgrade my S10+ lol. That AI google searching by circling was pretty crazy too though. It's fairly common that I want to find out what something is but don't even know how to ask the question. Like you searched that instrument. If I just saw that instrument and wanted to know what it was, it can be hard to even know what to put into a search to figure it out. Like what do you do? I just search things like "stringed instrument with X number of strings" or something and then I just keep scrolling and hope you find something that gets you closer or an answer. Or if I'm really desperate or if it's important for some reason I have to take a picture/screenshot and post it somewhere and ask around until I get an answer.
I went from the S21 Ultra that I used the last few years to the S24 Ultra. Been using it for the last few weeks and it's an amazing phone! Got 2 of them for $818 each with Samsung's trade in offer. Not to damn bad!
Mine arrived at my home 2/1/2024. Love it. Grey Titanium. Washed-out display colors and all. Fix coming soon in update.
2024? don't believe it
The washed-out colors are a big deal that Samsung needs to address ASAP. A lot of people are very currently disappointed in the display vibrancy.
@@ParkerForsberg i swapped a 15 pro max for my 24 ultra and the vibrancy is great
yeah, sure, right. the fix is coming on the s25. thanks for the $1500.
a software fix is coming not the s25 lmao@@BobRooney290
If you need lower lowest brightness, samsung has a "Extra dim" feature in quicksettings, I use it on my S21FE and it goes as low as being unreadable at pitch black darkness
I went to a store held this phone in my hand and found out the bottom right edge is really sharp . If you suffer from extended phone usage this is one to get as it's uncomfortable to hold
its the most complaint , but one would be mad not to use a case of some kind, even a bumper case ( edges only )
I recently upgraded from my S22 ultra to the S24 Ultra (battery life on the 22 was going downhill fast and my plan was up) and ive nopticed i can listen to audio books all day and read on the phone all day, i have even forgotten to charge the phone then wake up by my alarm to see i have 20%, put it to charge, and i have about 60% twenty minutes later when i need to leave. i quite like it, but if i leave home witha full charge and listen to music or a book all day i get home with about 40-50% so far, which is very nice, evn my 22 when it was new got down to about 30% when i got home
Just got mine yesterday after using the S21 Ultra since launch.
The 24 blows it away. I work a job where the instant translate could literally be lifesaving. I can't wait to have a chance to use it.
Text translate or live audio?
I’ve watched a few videos on it, and it’s seems like the “instant translator” is shit. It’s not instant by any means, and it won’t even be free after 2024 is over. Just misleading marketing. I would watch a CZcams video before buying it...
meh, nobody lives forever.
I got my S24 Ultra two days ago. It's really nice and I like it a lot, but there are issues. Vivid color mode basically doesn't work, the screen is not as bright as my old Note20 Ultra, the 5x camera has less detail than the S23 Ultra's 10x camera did, and there may be a large number of devices with manufacturing defects in the display. Mine personally has graininess and banding, most noticeable when looking at a 5% gray image at 10% brightness in a very dark room.
A few of these are almost definitely software fixes, but the banding/grainy display is possibly a hardware problem.
Oof the quality just keeps going down after they did a 180 with the s2x and started copying apple instead of being the innovators. Long live S10 series.
yeah the vivid colour mode is apparently a bug
@@clee40Not according to Samsung if you Google for Samsung's latest response to this perceived issue. Apparently it is a new more natural colour display that people may notice isn't as punchy colourwise as older Samsung devices. It's meant to be this way and nothing is broken is what they finish with.
Circle to search is also on my Pixel phones as well if not first.
9:53 I mean you could still technically use this on older androids such as the Note 10 plus using google lens. Its the same kind of technology.
Looking forward to scratches at level 7, with deeper grooves at level 8 in all phones from now on.
Can't be the only one who read this in Zack's voice.
It's quite a disappointment that LTT and many others not shitting on Samsung for the paywall on ai functions and not being really upfront about it.
Yeah you can clearly see who's actually a reviewer and who's just in it for the views and money
Short Circut videos are not reviews. They are either unboxings and/or first impressions.
@@mikeilagan6487 non argument. It's a HUGE infringement of a key selling point function, which will not be available for FREE. Also, Linus and others have made it abundantly clear how they think about such practices when it's about cars etc
@@mikeilagan6487 critiques aren't relegated only to reviews either. paste something you can notice on first impressions as well. It's not they haven't pointed out caveats in previous short circuits too.
Edit: they did bring it up near the end of the video.
Good work Linus, specially end of the video 🤣
The titanium frame and Gorilla glass updates really caught my eye. Especially impressed with the AI features, seems Samsung is on a new level. Curious to see how other brands are going to answer to this.
