i was expecting that joke in the video

I work in IT and i do not believe that drive was underground for more than 5 minutes.
I'm repairing electronics and I know it could survive.
Depends on a lot of things, but it can survive.
Of course it's not recommended to use it afterwards ;)
I wonder how many dirt is inside that drive when even that hole was completely filled. Or how many bad sectors lol. Try installing GTA5 on that drive and do the test again. Bet GTA5 won't last long 😊
@@aushyro Breathing hole has a filter that won't pass any dirt
and there is no other way something could get inside.
I think the only possibility is some water to go inside but I haven't tried doing that.

Hell yeah WD.
My mom makes those drives.
I built my PC and she said something like "Don't buy Seagate, they're our competitors. I can get the drive through work, it'll be a bit cheaper."
Ngl seagate is actually shit, I've had a few, and most of them failed within 3 years
Western Digital has been loyal to me for YEARS, they're so good.
@@Sheridan2LT I got a goofy ahh seagate 320gb drive from 2008 and it sounds like its about to explode while i got 2 wd blue drives for storing stuff on, ones 700gb and ones 500gb and they're from 2012 and they work great, i use a kingston ssd for boot so its a legendary combo
Yo some one can send some second hand SSD of any GB

WD green to the next level
I found a pc in a swampy area, and not only did the computer still work, the hard drive did too!!!
That old computer is currently my mining rig.
Super excited for this new Inscryption
I was waiting for this for so much time!!!!
The nice thing about computer components that I think many people (myself included) overlook is the fact that they're actually rather durable even against water when they're not running. A lot harder to short something when you don't have electricity coursing through it
Do you guys realise how microscopic an harddrive is ? Even a dust particule could destroy it, so of course it's completly locked, it's impossible to access the inside without forcing through or opening it up with the scews
Your dedication and hard work are paying off.
Now thats an eco friendly hard drive
Bro is gonna make a pc build under ground soon
Bro, I had been waiting for this video for so long😂
This guy didn't want to touch grass, so the Hard Drive did it
And mine failed just after warranty, great
Try to torch the magnet ring thats in the HDD. As magnets tend to get "destroyed" when they get burned hot
this gives me confidence to use my ssds in storage thank you for posting
Archaeologists finna rock the world with someone's homework folder!!!!
It’s literally vacuum sealed 💀, everything on the outside can then be replaced to make it functional again, including the board on the outside. As long as the sealed part is good, everything is good.
Meanwhile I slightly tapped mine and it instantly died from static shock
bro did some data farming 💀
Cant wait for the third video: Burying a hard drive for a decade and seeing if it still works
That's how you find use for your old 4gb drives, burry them for 1 year and they're 400gb
i was more concerned that it would die from the drop than the dirt and water poisoning

HDD dirt aging goes crazy
Bro doesn't need a case, the pc case needs him
Bro buried a completely unused HDD into the soil💀
There ain’t nothing like a fresh farm grown hard drive!
Sounds odd considering rain and possibly winter cold etc
I accidentally put my hard drive in the dryer and washer, it still works even though it’s melted,
It’s a sandisk 3.0 512gb
This will be archeology in 3014
This hard drive touches grass longer than someone
and then my dad gets mad if I touch my pc😂 OH NO ITS VERY VULNURABLE
This HDD has been more outside than most of Western Digital’s customers.
I didnt have the correct screw driver to open my old hdd so i used a drill to make holes in the screws, afterall it still spins and boot windows even being hold down by duct tape
THE YEESTER PASTE SECRET FORMULER.
that bonk with the hammer had more chance to damage it, than being buried
Hard drive touching more grass than me fr💀💀🙏
I looked at the formula. It seems that the more thermal conductivity, the higher the cooling is.
Guys Hard drives may be weak against physical damage, but if not they last for years.
These are WD drives. They fail under regular use. All you did was extend their lifespan by 6 months.
I’m surprised by how it survived even through rains.

U sure it wasn't your work folder.
I was hoping the hard drive would have some atleast a few files saved into it to test if any of it's data was corrupted over time.
SSD's been real quiet since this dropped
HDD's are far more reliable than SSD's, thats why ppl use them for long term storage where speed isnt needed

if 40gb was still enough for games I would probably still be using an IDE drive that our 1st PC had from 1997.
And my mac broke after a day in the rain💀

This is why you need to properly delete data from a HDD you are going to be retiring, don't just throw it away people.

I do wonder what the new owners of the house will find on the hard drives.
