- This video review is for Hasbro's generation one Transformers the movie reissue repaint of Autobot Scout Hound. He is a shared exclusive between Hasbro Pulse and Wal-Mart. This version of Hound is designed / painted to 1986 cartoon movie accurate , but does it pull off the look?

The little W stamp on the front of it always reminded me of Wayland Industries...W... Aliens 😅
Hard to compete with the G1 Hound. I just love the chrome.
Chrome is the best! But this version is nice.
This is the first reissue I am really tempted by. I love G1 Hound. It was one of my favourite transformers as a kid. He was one of the only ones that went with me a lot, whether in the sand box, or for a car ride. Due to that. my original has seen better days. Thanks George. Love this figure.

Also I believed Hound was already in Autobot City before Megatron attacked, the same area we saw Bluestreak along with Huffer, and Hound just came to meet Optimus Prime's shuttle.
They both pretty beautiful
I just this guy and he is one of the figures I never got as a kid along with Mirage back when they originally came out.
We will probably never get a Mirage reissue. Takara no longer has the original mold for him.

G1 original had rubber wheels that how u know it real original+ made in Japan+company name takara+ date stamped "84" + stickers +booklet in color photography style+ your childhood memories of the 80's so happy i was born in the 70's to get this in the 80's best time better then 2023
This was a great review! I have this Hound and was surprised how much I like this. You are right that this is the best movie color Transformer Hasbro has done yet.

Great review as usual, and I love your reaction to the missile/hologram piece. I just got the figure and I love it, especially for the price. I wish my box hadn't gotten squished in transit. It would be perfect if the arms extended. And kinda don't like how the head is loose in vehicle mode, like it can just slip out if turned upside-down.

Got him too (still in the box). Gotta love G1! Lots of parts and no where to put them :D And he's roughly half the height of Hot Rod or put it another way, he's just a little taller than Cliffjumper!

I received mine from Pulse about the same time as you posted this video. I never had Hound as a kid. It was one of the few that I just never found at TRU or Child World. None of my friends had him either. So we were "Hound Dry" in NNJ it seems...lol. Now that I finally have one I love it. Now I have to get the vintage.
And, I wonder if Hasbro teasing Unicron on every box means we'll get a Haslab recreation of that G1 tubby round Unicron prototype. I'd buy it!
I love to see a scaled down more cartoon accurate version of Haslab Unicron. I doubt that they would ever just do a straight up re-release a Haslab project.

@eightbit collectors tried to hate on Unicron in the beginning, but I knew it was going to be a crowning jewel because it fit in any transformers toy line.

Really? I once read a list of all the casualties from the movie and I remember Hound's name being on it. 🤔 I could be wrong.

What’s your take on keeping boxes? I love the artwork and I know I’ll regret getting rid of them, but they’re starting to take up too much space.
The art is cool but at the same time I'd like to see the toy inside. I do not collect the boxes for newer toys simply because I don't have the space for them.

You mention about how Hound is a confirmed kill. How can we know for sure? While he doesn't show up in Season 3. I don't see any death scenes like with Wheeljack or Ironhide.
I once read a list that stated that Jazz , Bumblebee and Cliffjumper were the only 84 Autobots to survive the movie. Basically all the Diaclone toy were murdered. Including 85 guy's like Red Alert, Inferno Hoist, Smokescreen and Tracks that weren't seen on screen at all!
@@80sTransfromersFan Why did they allow Jazz and Cliffjumper to survive when both of their 1984 toys were discontinued? The original insecticons appeared to be killed off in the movie (although show up in Five Faces of Darkness), but their toys were still being sold.
@Electrasound I don't have the answers. But my guess is that some of the older characters had to survive to keep the connection to the original cast of characters. And possibly them being the more famous voices actor's played a part. As for the transformers we saw in season 3, there were a ton of animation errors.
It sad that Hasbro celebrate 40 years of g1 with not being true original because missing stickers + crome+ Japan + ECT ECT ECT
I love this line! Can't wait for Trailblaser,Wheeljack,& mirage. And the plastic window. I have all 4 of the ones that are out. And I will say Hasbro Pulse sent me an extra one because of damage. So, I have an open Starcream and one in the package. Love your videos! I'm done with the main lines most of them look like dollar store toys. But, there are a few high$ that look awesome. Also 3rd party Fans Toys look phenomenal and they have a lot of die-cast on them. There worth the $300-$500

If u tossed the boxes then u stupid because it not complete without the box + the box is worth more money then the toys itself why because it hard to find the original boxes of the original g1 it worth a lot compared to the toy itself trust me
