- This is a video review of Hasbro's 1984 Transformers Autobot Jazz! In this video I discuss the Diaclone origins of the toy known as Jazz as well as it's many reissues. So please enjoy this informative look at this iconic figure and character.

About time they did these reissues. Takes me back to my childhood. I'm 42 and still collect transformers. G1 that is.

Jazz was one of the few G1 figures I never managed to find as a kid. He was one of my favorite and the one I always had wanted.
I actually never saw Optimus Prime in stores.
I was 11 years old, got Jazz and several others for Christmas.
This STILL is My favorite "Autobot" Race-Car!! A 935 Martini-Porsche just like this one, won a 1976 (Gran-Tourismo) style race!!!! 🤗 ❤👍🏼

Great review man, I love your vids, they're informative, you tell us the story of where these toys came from, the intention of why they were made, and you read out the specs, character profiles, and show us the catalog! to my knowledge nobody else online does that, they just say. "Here's the toy blah blah thanks for watching!" But you try and give us accurate info on these timeless treasures and share your personal experiences with them.

Loved having Jazz as a Kid was my second favourite next to OPTIMAS prime. Great review as always keep up the great work 👍🏻🤖🤖🤖

Never had Jazz as a kid. Not because I didn't like or want him, but because I never saw him in any toystore here in Germany. But as of today, that unfortunate omission is a thing of the past. Today I got the 1989 Classic Heroes version of Jazz with its gun, 3 Rockets and the booklet. The only thing missing is the rocket launcher. But I try to find one on ebay soon. I love this figure but he is not the easiest G1 Autobot to transform. But he looks awesome in vehicle mode and also as a robot. Love him 😍

@@80sTransfromersFan Thanks for the friendly advice. I know from my G1 Prowl that I had as a kid, that the weak spot on this kind of TF is the windshield. Broke the windshield of my Prowl off during transformation after a few hours of playing with him. Glued it back on but it came off from time to time. Very annoying. 😫

Jazz was a cool one character. I got the book one reissue in Japanese. I never took it out. I believe I have him regular but loose and the generations one
Never got Jazz as a kid, wanted him the most but was one of the ones I couldn't find

My wife got the takara reissue about 10 years ago from image anime in nyc on her business trip. Love it but I keep mine sealed in the box
Man remember the days going into a toy store and seeing them on the shelves next to Voltron and macross by Bandai it takatoku we had the best toys my friend the best

I remember seeing both Deluxe Autobots at a Service Merchandise... I said, "Please!?" and my Mom said... "no". :( But now I have them... :)

WOW! One toy a week! Lol.. my mom would only get me a toy once a month. If I wanted more than that I had to use my allowance to buy toys.
Yeah man my mom was a "Mall Rat" . She would hit 2 or 3 different malls every weekend. Not counting stripmalls that had Montgomery Wards, Sears and K-Mart . She was a shopaholic and my dad wouldn't be pissed but I didn't care as long as I got the newest Transformer or He-Man or G.I. Joe. 😆

My mom would buy my transformers and I would use my allowance to buy my gi joes and he - men. When we went to the mall my mom would usually get me a new pair of shoes from footlocker. I always wanted what the NBA players were wearing at the time. Lol

I got most of my toys from a toy store called Children's Palace. They got bought out by Toys R Us eventually.
@@slkric1724 we had two Children's Palace hear that I knew of but you had to drive pass 2 or 3 Toys R Us to get to them so we didn't go much. Hell I didn't get to Toys R Us that much either!
Wonder if we will ever get a War for Cybertron trilogy Jazz? He is the only larger size original autobot we haven't seen yet. I’m not counting the guys who were minibots in the original line.

Speaking of rank, take a look at Jetfire. It gave me the impression they were shaping him up to replace Optimus Prime.
Well spotted! In some parts of Europe and other countries the licensing for Convoy/Optimus Prime was still being used by Joustra ! Sort of like how Sony got Spiderman before Disney got the rest of Marvel. So then Hasbro marketed Jetfire as the the leader of the Autobots in that part of the world. Later Hasbro would use there sub company Milton Bradley to release Optimus Prime in Europe and that's how we got the French stamped trailers and Red Feet Optimus variants.

Jazz should had gotten the Matrix of Leadership. So we would have Jamminous Prime.

It's a bummer that your Jazz has yellowed, but it's still an awesome piece. I think you made a good choice by not opening it. And yea, Scatman Crothers was a perfect choice for Jazz. Wish Jazz had more screen time. Back in the day my mom found a incomplete G1 Jazz at a yard sale for me. I loved it, but ended up breaking the roof lol
I think we all broke the roof 🤣🤣🤣 I was lucky mine broke in a way that was able to stay on during transformation . A lot of my white figures turned yellow! My G1 Jetfire and Skylynx just to name a few.

My first Transformer and my all time favorite along with Prime. The only Jazz I have that hasn't yellowed one bit is my Gigi G2 Jazz. The others had to be taken apart, the yellowing pieces put in a glass jar with hydrogen peroxide, put the lid on and set it in the sun for a couple of days. The plastic goes back to a perfect white. Here in the south, it only takes 24hrs of daylight. Also, Where did you get that Teletran 1 and can I buy a Diaclone pilot. Fake ones with no moving limbs are all over eBay. R.I.P. Scatman Crothers.
I got Teletraan 1from bigbadtoystore.com 10 Years ago.I reviewed it about one week ago. The pilot is from one of figures in my Diaclone collection.
I still need to get Jazz. Though the reissues are a little pricey new in the box. So I'll keep waiting until one pops up for a good price.

I very much enjoyed the Power of the Primes trilogy series. Well... it grew on me. Loved Megatron's potty mouth. Definitely targeted at us Generation X bunch.

That reminds me. Years ago, I paid top dollar for a sealed MOTU Skeletor 2001 reissue. I opened it up to find out that Skeletor had tan lines from the vest piece. i.e. someone had the figure where sun got to it and gave him a sun burn like when you can see bra lines on a woman who tans with her bathing suit on. I was so pissed. I ended up throwing it away because the figure just looked dumb like that having bra lines on this chest.
That sucks! I found out a few years ago a way to fix that issue. If you have a toy that has yellowing or discoloration get some Salon grade Peroxide place the damage figure and Peroxide into a zip lock under a blacklight or direct sunlight. This process can take days but it works and is definitely worth it.
@@80sTransfromersFan Thanks. That's the only figure I got that had that problem. I ended up getting another one a few years ago. Though I think your yellowing problem is probably something to do with the plastic. Kind of like how some Super Nintendo's will yellow while others don't.

I'm sure Takara Tomy/Hasbro will give us a second US reissue release of Jazz soon because they want to release the Masterpiece version. And once that deal is done the G1 reissue won't be far behind.
