- This is a video review of Hasbro's 1984 vintage original Transformers Decepticon Air Commander Starscream! In this video I talk about Starscreams origins and variants as well as examine the vintage box! This video includes stop motion and video clips.

Great review George. I always wanted Starscream when I was a kid and he was always sold out, him and Optimus were the most popular back then. G1 is still the best!
Same here I could never find him.
One of my favorite starsceam moments was when Megatron was about to say retreat and starscream said " let me guess retreat" that had me rolling as a kid cause it made Megatron look like the real coward in battle.
I'm having trouble remembering that episode.... what episode was it in?
@@80sTransfromersFan I haven't watched it in a while but I'm thinking it's the episode called the golden lagoon. But get the DVD set transformers season 2 volume 1 and it's one of those episodes on disc 4. Golden lagoon is on disc 4.but it also has 7 other episodes on that disc, but like I said it's been a while since I had it, but when I was watching your review an you said what's my favorite star scream moment that part just popped in my head cause it had me laughing as a kid and as an adult when I watched on DVD 6 years ago. But I know it had to be disc 4 cause that was the only dvd set I bought, cause I didnt have the other ones.

Always great review bro. I didn't know about the charred version WOW! I do have a ghost and walmart reissue. Nice seeing the goodbye Megatron release mentioned. Funny only Inhumanoids I had as a kid was De compose !
"Now you know " 🤣 my cousin had Decompose I had Metlar. And I had the charred version of Starscream but sold it in my last great purge when I need cash.

I really want G1 Starscream he has one of the best transformation!
I've got the Starscream Encore reissue. The metal pin that goes through his body that he rotates on was either broken on one side, or the factory didn't push the pin all the way through to the other side. And so when the center portion rotates, it only rotates on one side as the other side just spins in the air.
Man that sucks.
I will admit that Starscream in the G1 cartoon he didn’t fear unicron he showed attitude by saying do it yourself
What a great review. Starscream was my favorite and first transformer. I now have two masterpiece Starscreams, the US reissues, and seige and earthrise, and an og 84 release, but recently... I got two G2 Starscreams. Parts from both gave me a near complete one. The 90s florescent orangey pink Is absurd and amazing. I was hoping you would have included him In here. I WOULD LOVE to have an og diaclone one. I'm jealous of your Starscream gang. 😍
That one time in Kingdom when Starscream was having a panic attack when he had the golden disc and was trying to on warn the Autobots

Amazing classic
My fav by far! “Save the oration!” Great character and coolest, closest to actual Eagle colors of all the seekers. My 10yo self in 1984 wanted him and Optimus. Christmas ‘84 I got Prowl instead, which my dad broke before I could transform him. Never got Starscream as a kid but now I have 5 versions of G1 and 2 G2. I have 2 Earthrise and one Siege. G2 version meteor from Maketoys and two variants of masterpiece. Not to mention the 20+ other different Starscreams from other series and movies. LOL I’ve made up for being poor as a kid for sure!

I shouldn't really be watching CZcams at work, but screw it, my fave jet Decepticon on my fave Transformers channel? Done deal! Even after The Movie, I was utterly convinced Starscream would be back. He's too cool a character to waste! I remember asking for him for Christmas *after* his supposed onscreen death. Bad@$$!
Just Google F-15 ACTIVE and you will see the jet they *should* have used in the live-action films. Check out that paint scheme!

I was sick and had to get a shot at the Drs and my mom said If you don't freak out I'll get you a transformer. I sucked it up and we went to a True Value and I got Starscream. I'm glad for memories. Thanks for the vid.

The vintage toys have a certain vibe. The first run of transformers still knock me out. The details were amazing. Plus they have weight. Your star scream looks great!

My first transformer ever, and a kid in Kindergarten stole it from the teachers desk on show and tell day. Two lessons I learned, never bring anything to school again and never trust anyone.
My teacher tried to take my Hound, and I said no! I told him to call my father. I knew I'd be in big trouble, but my toy would be at home with me and not on the teacher's deck.

my brother got me this guy for Christmas this year and man i love him however mine is totally incomplete i need the wings and all that, so i just got the main body but even in his incomplete state he looks great on my shelf and i love him!!

Thanks for asking! I'm better now my 5 year old son is out of the hospital. It's a long story. But another reason my absence is my computer is in the shop and should be returned to me by April 7th I have a lot of videos ready to go! Including G1 Thundercracker , Soundwave and Megatron. I'm glad he's out. When my daughter was two she was in for a couple days so I know the feeling . Take your time we all love the channel and aren't going anywhere. I'll be anxiously awaiting the vids.
Awesome review. I ended up having G1/G2 Starscream collection. Favorite Starscream moment (only one?). It's when Starscream told his new creations, the Combaticons, that he didn't install energy absorbers....."No energy, no life." My question, where did you get the other seekers? Sunstorm was a e-hobby release, but the others? Cool stuff. Love your reviews and yes, there's a story behind it!
You can have as many Starscream as you like and I would love to hear more! The other jet are my customs made by dying g2 Starscreams and E-Hobby Sunstorm. I'm going to do a video on them after I review Megatron.
Wow, that's cool. Looking forward to that future video. I did a project last year. I purchased (ebay) spare seekers and swapped parts and so on. Did some "surgery" and created a new army of seekers. The only thing, it doesn't need a paint job. I ended up with 6 new warriors. It was a lot of fun. So my collection includes 5 G1/G2 Starscream. There is a 6th one, a vintage G1 (one of my first ones back in the day) but my son (5 yo) played with it and went into battle with him....it showed. But it was already broken with the gun tips snapped off, tail fin peg broke, fist tabs broke off, and the labels worn, etc. But I ended up with a replacement and it was in better shape than this one. So in essence, my son inherited my original Starscream :D
Man, I needs me that Starscream! I honestly want the Walmart reissue more than the vintage version just cause it comes with that Megatron pistol lol Ol' Screamer is definitely my favorite transformer. He gets all the coolest scenes in everything he's in. I'm sadly not well versed in g1 cartoon but I have most of the US comics n a couple from the UK. My favorite Starscream moment(s) 1) 2007 movie: Mission City battle when he dropped in outta nowhere, shot everybody up quick then transformed in midair n dipped out. 2) Transformers Prime: "Optimus Prime? How dare u continue to live?" 3) his Beast Wars appearance (idk if u got to that episode yet, so I won't spoil it for u, bro) I couldn't afford to collect all my favorite action figures as a kid(I had a lot of the characters that never appeared in the shows tho), but I had a few "rich" friends who would let me play with theirs cause I was really good with imitating the voices lol I was a kid when Beast Wars came out so that was MY transformers n that got me into transformers n transforming robot toys, in general. How do u like Beast Wars so far? Have u watched all of it yet? N r u planning to watch Beast Machines?(kinda have to to complete the story) Another question, off topic: if I put some of my guitar covers here on CZcams would u check them out? Awesome awesomeness! Really great stuff! I finish Beast Wars and actually enjoy it very much! I don't think I would have liked it very much back when I was a teenager because my mind was not open to it back then. Now I appreciate it for what it is. I have started Beast Mechines yet but I'm looking forward to it. Thanks for the the comments and keep em coming!

Strangely the canopy on the Kingdam 6 version was orange like Skywarp and Thundercracker maybe take the orange canonpy off and switch that to the Hasbro version to bring into line with Skywarp and Thundercracker
I have the Takara Collection version that has the orange canopy that's cartoon accurate.
I missed the reissue from 2018, but I managed to get one on eBay for an ok price. Still a bit too much, but cheapest one there was. It should be coming tomorrow in the mail. Can’t wait to finally have a G1 style seeker. The only one I have is G2 ramjet which of course has different wings and weapons and everything

@@80sTransfromersFan Maybe when they do another reissue line in another decade. Wasn’t the last Starscream reissue in 2002 before this most recent one? With the reissue line seeming to be now reissues and recolors of modern titans return headmasters, I’m not too optimistic about getting any real G1 reissues for a few more years.

I made them using clothing dye on E-Hobby Sunstorm.
Diaclone is one of the serie that even today are sell .
New. Diaclone still are on the market .
So really diaclone and Transformers.are.long run of toys today.

Actually I'm stumped. I was once in a bad situation and considering selling my entire collection and didn't have answers then or now unfortunately. But I have see adds that say "we buy collection" from eBay sellers such as Wheeljacklabs.

I had Thundercracker.
The only thing I didn’t like about the jets was that you had this awkward nose cone sticking out of his back in robot mode. It made the profile look strange and if you wanted to have him fly in robot mode(like Superman), you got that big point sticking straight up.
Both Lazerbeak and Buzzsaw were voiced by Chris latta too
In season one, Frank Welker voice Laserbeak.
Two fun facts about Starscream. Apparently, because of the voice, the Japanese thought Starscream was female. In the Marvel Comics, Starscream didn't really have much of a presence until he was revived after being killed by Omega Supreme in the Underbase storyline. Also that you're a douchebag, Starscream line was hilarious and probably would've been banned in the '86 movie

@@80sTransfromersFan I think it was the high pitch. It funny, when I was a kid, I never thought of the Transformers as male or female until that fateful episode when we meet Elita-1. I just thought they were robot and not like humans. The Japanese voice actor for Starscream denotes him as being a pretty boy, which is apt because of his bio. Oh, for clarity, it was in Marvel Comics about the whole presence until the Underbase storyline
