Today I installed an Alpine ILX-702D into this Nissan X-Trail, and wired up the steering wheel controls and plan on installing multiple alpine cameras for a 3 camera parking system in the future.

The x-trail was sold here in Canada too and isn't in a lot of media here either, and we like to order in the JDM stuff as well, its a bargain and you can get some unusual models although we drive on the other side of the road so that takes some getting used to.
I came here just to know if T31 Xtrail have cruise control or not, since the ones they marketed for my country didn't have one. Now I'm glad Japanese version got it, now I need to buy the steering wheels and ECU, perhaps some module for it also.

Hey, i'm from México, and have a base model 2010 Xtrail. I'm thinking on buying an Android head unit and installing a backup camera (currently i don't have a camera) so i need to know which cable goes to the reverse light (to power them) and where can i route the video cable.

You could have probably get away with an iPad mini dash install on the top portion where the old navigation was

Don't they know before they buy it that a lot of it is in Japanese. I don't know the details of that purchase, but in the States all our Asian imports are in English because they're imported to be sold in America. But then again, a lot of the Asian cars have factories over here where they are built. Thanks James, your videos are great!
the asian imports you have are generally built for the USDM. we specifically get jdm imports of the same vehicles.
the japanese have a high turn over of vehicles. generally around 37 thousand miles. they change vehicles.
. jdm are cheaper then the local version made for nz. sometimes they dont even offer a local version.

When it’s an annoying external module that isn’t easy to program, getting everything working properly is no easy feat and yes something I’m proud of.
I pride myself in always maximizing what a customer can get out of their vehicle and it bothers me when I can’t give them everything cos it feels like I’m down grading them in a sense.

It’s a good way to change the clock or turn off voice alerts or get something working, but never have I ever seen a language settings menu in stereo /Navi/infotainment system.

James you could go out and create a Software update that translates these vehicles to English. Wouldn’t take much you just need a programmer and a translator. You’ll make a killing like you said

You can change the accent and gender of Siri’s voice in your phones settings.
