Today I start a large project; a full sound system to be installed into this 2001 Jaguar XKR.
Today I installed Alpine Type X components in the front and a top level Alpine BT stereo.
Still to come: Rear Type X speaker install, 2 PDX Amplifiers Install, Custom Subwoofer Enclosure Build.

Nice show, glad you found all the wires, I have a Peugeot 206 sw 2004 and it seem not to have a wire on the key to turn it off just 2 live wires.
Jags are English cars mate- built in Birmingham, England. And what a beaut she is. Always loved these cars. It’s nice to see all of the wiring harnesses and stuff under the lavish skins of leather. When you started seeing things working with the access sw-1 it made me think that it probably worked since so many things came from Ford’s parts bins. Hopefully everything else will be as smooth sailing as the front.

looks same as the ones on the S-type, if so transit relay, when new they fit transit relay on battery, so when keys are removed it isolates the battery, stop it going flat in storage, would assume its same through out the range.
Glad to see are ok.I heard you were facing a tropical cyclone.The dust cap on woofer looks like some tweeters I have seen lately.Maybe factory radio/amp had built in crossovers since they used seperate channels.

The type x are amazing. Much better then the Focal your talking about. The focal has a mid range so that's a pluss for them, but the mid and tweeters are better with the type x. And alpine make a drop in kit for this car. Comes with coax for rear, 3 way for the front, and a sub for the back. You can get it with or without a 5 channel amp.
Quick question, I have an Audi A4 B6 model, I'm going to put a B7 steering wheel in it with the control module, would I have to use Axxess for my aftermarket stereo? I don't like the Audi navigation. And is there just usually one wire in the harness?
There are more tweeter mounting components under the form box they come in , I found mine in the bottom of it
betcha if the owner wanted an active setup that jag would have a really nice soundstage.

I can’t help but feel like alpine have taken a step back with their speakers, can’t say for sure but just going off looks and crossover the new ones don’t appear to be at the same level

They come with Type R components so we have lots of spares.

Dvd and nav are installed in the trunk on that model
Actually, the CD changer is installed in the trunk as is the DVD-based navigation system

gaurd3 2001. Believe they have been since 1998. My 02 XJ Sport is pretty much the same as this.
The upholstery on the door panel is factory...

never heard of that. 18v tops and very few amps can handle that.

The minute you called a pioneer subwoofer nice, you lost all credibility! Lol jk but Pioneer has good headunits that's it though. A nice cheap subwoofer is Skar Audio evl's or even cheaper but pretty good is a quantum audio q3000 or a QPower super deluxe both are under $120 and the skar audio sub is $200 and all 3 will outperform that sad pioneer
