Hey Guys!
Didnt film much while I was working today because reasons.
But here is what I did anyway:
Installed the Right Rear Speaker, and got pretty much all the amp wiring done and started on the amplifier mounting solution.

I’d keep mono block on top. But these amps the entire case is a heat sink. Don’t stress it too much. They are designed to be used that way.
Another cracking cracking. Well done. I am sure Fernando would approve ;)
I really enjoy how detailed your videos are james! You show how to run wires better than anyone... keep up the good work!
Love the work you are doing, especially to a cool British car. All the best from a snowed in England!
4 channel on the bottom. Shouldn’t generate as much heat running only vocal speakers compared to the sub amp, depending on how hard it’s pushed, would probably get warmer first.
mono on top. my thought process is in home theater racks and some computer server racks you place the hottest components on top
Love the amp placement, i have an 03 super v8 , and im hoping to use the same spot for my amps , i just hope they fit , im only adding 2 alpine mrvs
Keep it the way u have it; those amps are made for stacking anyway.....great work as always
i would put it the way you had it james...awesome work..
the monoblock on top and try to space them part as much as possible? Nice cabling management
Hey James,
would it be possible to make a short segment on how you set the gains on those PDX amps specifically... I have the same amps and rather than setting the gains by ear, I wanted to probe the alpine connectors with a multimeter to see what voltage is going to the speakers, but with these amps there are those plastic alpine connectors and I’m having a hard time getting a reading on my multimeter.
Thanks.
Aaron
I am removing my amplifier on my 2000 xkr. Can't get the power plug to release. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for your great videos
Awesome job so far. My advise is to always keep the hottest components on top as heat rises. Trust me on this, I'm an electronic engineer. I see on the news about Cyclone Gita hits New Zealand. I hope you are safe.
Thanks man, cyclone for me in Christchurch fortunately was just a bit of rough weather, nothing crazy.
Car Audio.etc glad to hear you are ok. Here in California just north of Los Angeles, some areas are evacuating today due to possibly of mudslides caused by heavy rain after the December fire. Some people lost their lives from mudslides caused by the last months rain storm.
Heat on top that said I find 4 channel amps make tons more heat than mono blocks.
As luck would have it. U have a power / ground and a remote power... wire in a brushless DC fan and relay u could mount the fan up in the hole where the RCA come trough. Fernando? ??
Hey James love your work.... Love the sign off too. I dont mean too be "that guy" if you pronounce it "Car key tear a nor" bingo. take it on board or not haha. And good luck for the future......
Just add a computer fan near them to keep them cool
Does anyone make a wire loom tat uses Velcro to wrap around wires ,not Velcro strips.Maybe a split version of the Chinese finger torture that Dean and Fernando use.
