      @@Sokol17029 : Er, they were not number one for 80 years before South Africa was banned from international rugby. In fact, South Africa had beaten every team in the world more times than they'd lost, including the AB's. The AB's had not even won a test series in South Africa before SA were banned. Since South Africa came back and have been badly affected by affirmative action appointments, the AB's have done well against SA....but SA still have a better win percentage at winning RWC's.....three wins in seven RWC's compared to ABs three wins in nine tournaments.

      @@shibuya3185 Many teams tried to win in SA, first problem was they were smart, played most teams at altitude, another problem was the quality of the reffing, If you watch the old games, my word, I think a few Rand was given to certain referees. In saying that, The All Black VS South Africa mindset is one of the best in the world, the games are always battles to the final whistle and always the team that wins deserves it. The world ranking system is a farce, lets face it. At this time SA are number 1 and deserve to be as RWC's. Overall however, the All Blacks hold a winning margin over every team they have ever played, Including SA. Don't use politics to say that it has affected the game to such a point that you have to mention it, Up until the end of Apartheid the margin was 21 wins to SA and 17 wins to NZ, so a lot closer than you suggest. Heyneke Meyer did a great job from 2012 to 2015 and almost got them the win in the world cup, that semi was epic, the same team previously struggled, with some big losses, Same with the All Blacks now, Foster is destroying their game. RWC's are great, 3 each, yet only the All Blacks have won back to back. Since the first match in 1921 between them there have been 101 games. 60 to NZ and 37 to SA with 4 draws. And to be honest that wont change that much as both teams are always going to bring their best. As a kiwi I have more respect for SA rugby than any other country, if we lose to them it's worth the pain, because the game is always amazing.

    • @shibuya3185
      @shibuya3185 Před 2 lety +2

      @@Nineteenseventy2 : Who cares who won "back to back"? The AB's have played twice at home compared to the Boks once and have played in two more tournaments. They consistently choke when playing the RWC away....with a dismal 14% success record. Disrespecting SA referees by claiming they cheat is typical Kiwi loser talk. What is wrong with you lot? Small man syndrome again? Of course politics has played a major role in the disappointing Bok performances since the end of apartheid. Before this time (over 80 years) they had a better win/lose ratio than every other team. The AB's have done really well whilst SA has been affected by affirmative action and teams not selected on merit, but with some excellent black talent coming through in SA, they are coming back to their former glory. They are not there yet but still have a better win rate at winning RWC's than the AB's. Three out of seven compared to three out of nine for the AB's. The Boks will continue to suffer in the less important games because the weak rand means that they never can field their strongest team but with all the black talent coming through, they are improving. The AB's had better start poaching players from the PI's again.

    Brilliant season. Trouble is, too many daft buggers expect the same every outing. Some of the happiest folks ended up being the English and Irish clubs, in particular, that profited immensely from some superb former AB's, that still have years left in their 'tanks'. Those fine New Zealanders have certainly enhanced the successes of their respective employers up North. Some of them made International status. You don't see too many Northerners leaving such markers down South. Says a lot for the magnificent New Zealand rugby culture.

      @@richardscanlan3167 ……I fear you’re right Richard. For the sake of trying to appear progressive, the studiously constructed infrastructure & hard won culture of NZ rugby is being used to raise up the sons of other lands, meaning it barely represents the average NZer anymore. The true lack of loyalty to NZ is being openly displayed more and more every year. It’s getting old.

      The real enemy of NZ rugby - the home unions/France are well aware of this.
      They've won,I don't expect NZ will ever be anything more than a middle of the road team - years of stripping our game has paid off big time.

      The only NH players NZ rugby would attract are those who are past their prime - and can't get a contract at home,or those who are prepared to take a pay cut to play here.

    Gob-smacking.. for a country of 5m, half that men/women.. then half that again for player ABLE to play rugby.. then choose those that will play for your country... just STOP and think about THAT!!
