I am now 100% sure that the O.I.A.R is the webb. Them working or ”controling” the avatars. Plus the fact that in the end of TMA it is hinted that the web will be the dominent entity in the new realety and the O.I.A.R sems to be the ones in control or they can also be working for the one in control.
“The Pillowman” is a real play about a man who lives in a 1984 style police state and is questioned by the secret police because he is a short story writer who’s stories are suspiciously similar to recent missing children’s cases.

- *Flesh* is about being eaten/becoming food (among other things).
- *Slaughter* is just about pure violence (all the way from war to being stabbed in a mugging).
- *Hunt* is about the chase, the relentless pursuit.
The Buried just is a hard no for me. I will throw my entire self into the Vast and Lonely first, or go insane fast. I thought drowning was Buried, not Vast? nope, nope, nope, nopity, nope, nope, nope.
if it was an archivist under the institute, maybe the endless loop caused problems and they had to leave the recorder behind, lest they miss the end of the Statement?
This was my favorite episode so far. The statement and the supplemental were both amazing
if that WAS error with alice, then they were probably somehow channeling the experience of the drowning woman. like jon and nightmare, but while awake. if we hear the same voice again describing a different encounter with a fear, i'll be pretty confident that error is an archivist-type and this is how they feed
Perhaps the reason behind the tape recorder is the basement dweller caused the drowning and gave the tape to get back later a record of it
At 4 :21 when you said "hunt", the exact time my timer went off(which is set to play the magnus theme, the loud part) it really put emphasize on the word

Drowning is Buried not Vast so I think this was another entity collab. Interesting that opposite entities can mix.
Think this might be my favourite ep so far tbh. That bit at the end with Alice was so horrifying, and again, I have to give them Kudos for the sound design. I had it on headphones and I took one off as the woman got closer to the tape recorder.
Also, interestingly, I thought the episode had ended before that scene because we got the computer powering down sound then the tape recorder started. Or that's what it seemed to me.
