I lived in Eagle from 1980 to 1984. My house is at 5:24. My husband and kids helped build it in 1982. It’s changed so much. We had outhouses and water from the main well house!! I enjoyed this very much. Thank you for the visit. :)

TFS Eagle looks to be a quiet place. Nice views from the drone and those mountain ridge roads sure are great places to see the mountains and rivers. Happy trails.

Eagle has always been one of my favorite places to visit in AK. It has almost been 50 years since I was there plan to make it one more time again. Sure looks different, no multistory buildings when I was there. Just a bunch of log cabins and houses lined the shore of the Yukon.

@@outliersoverland It was way different, most towns looked slummy compared to the lower 48. The main focus was to survive and keep the cold out not beautiful looking buildings. Grocery stores mainly carried caned or boxed food. As in Fairbanks 1/2 the town had to drive to Fox to get you jugs filled with drinking water. We drank powered milk as fresh was too much money. Fresh salad was a treat. Though everyone had fresh salmon, moose & bear in the freezer. It was almost like being in a 3rd world country. But it was a great place to live!

It’s a lot colder in October, but not full blown -20 like is regularly seen in winter.
      Thank you.

“Alaska’s Best Dirt Roads...” is the #GreatestPunchlineEver ... When I read that I remembered my Mother’s favourite punchline which was always... “I laughed so hard that tears were streaming down my leg.” Well, this came mighty close. #WellDone #ISurvivedTheTopOfTheWorldHighwayButMyCampersSewageSystemDidNot

We were fighting the biggest challenge of traveling around Alaska during the late season.
      Finding water for our tanks!
Fortunately the son of Diamond M Ranch “Alaskan Outsider” makes CZcams videos and got us water after they were closed for the season.
