    Awesome. I was at the sign post forest in 1968 when our fam drove up in the summer. So I stopped there this last summer myself to walk thru as an adult and add the same sticker we did back then. Little tear thing going on as to both my parents have passed
    I love seeing the drive in the winter. Thank you drive safe

    Now this was intriguing...battling the sub Z temps is always a challenge, but it sure looked cozy in there except for the frost/bolt/ transfer. Keep this stuff coming. it shows the difficulties and how you deal with them with what ever solution. The real deal here for sure.

    Cold temps and icing up the doors and windows goes hand in hand. Some of the rv's actually rain inside at those temps. Stay warm and dry. Happy trails.

      Yes. In our old motorhome Nellie we had those humidity battles at 38 above.

    Accolades on rethinking your redundancies for heat. However, miles forward toward warmer temperatures or the terminus is your goal as it reduces your risk. I just completed a round trip from northeastern Pennsylvania to Fort Worth in about 36 hours including sleep times. That means, like you, monstrous miles to go 900 in 24 hours. Best of luck, keep the dirty side down.

    I take it that was -9 F as -9 C ain't crap. Anyway it looks like you're getting to a little bit warmer weather so things should thaw out. I also agree with Rebecca, when your nose hairs freeze it's cold. Keep the good stuff coming in guys.

    • @outliersoverland
      @outliersoverland  Před 4 lety

      Yes it was -9f. Things thawed and dried out surprisingly well.

    Thanks for the Videos, You see a lot of blogs showing Alaska and Canada in the spring and summer. It's great to see it in the wintertime. It may be cold but we see what it looks like in the wintertime. Love the snow everywhere. People have the preconceived notion everything shuts down. Everything looks like it's still open.

    I'm so glad that the beast is working for y'all. I know there are some problematic areas but you're doing so much better than most would be doing in that climate. It's great to see the region through your eyes so thanks for sharing these videos. Safe travels, y'all! (That hot spring pool looked SO INVITING! hahaha)

    Obviously you and a lot of others are comfortable driving in this environment, but are you not worried about the Ice, or black ice conditions ?

    • @outliersoverland
      @outliersoverland  Před 4 lety +1

      It’s a constant hazard that you are always concerned about. Compacted snow is a surprisingly nice road surface. Bitterly cold and dry roads grip well. The roads are worst when it rains right after a cold snap, everything freezes and it’s wet to make things worse. In cases like this studded tires help.

    Driving in dark wrong. You are asking for trouble!

    • @outliersoverland
      @outliersoverland  Před 4 lety +4

      At this high of latitude you have to be comfortable driving in the dark. There is definitely an element of risk, but with only 5 hours of light, there’s no other choice.
