I got my 3070 gaming laptop for £649 used and have had no issues with it so far. It plays all the games I want to play at very good settings and my desktop pc I sold before only had a 2070 and was mid range and cost me like £1000 to build. Plus now when I'm on a night shift I get to play games rather than do work

This is a great video for me i currently have a Legion 5 with same specs and was wondering if i could start playing iracing thanks for uploading.
What has your experience been? I am completely new to pc gaming and really only interested in iracing. Starting my masters program and need a new laptop so was thinking about going the gaming laptop route for school and iracing with a VR headset
Your video was great, it gave me a heart attack because the way your mic is it only goes in one ear of my headphones, and at first i thought they were broken.
I bought a Hewlett packard omen 15 gaming laptop with a300hz refresh, core i7, and a 3070 nvidia rtx geforce graphics card during the pandemic because I couldn't get my hands on a playstation 5 at that time period I finally got one now but whatever... lol anyway, my laptop has about 30 games on it at the moment and all of them run beautifully, smoothly, with no crashing, on ultra settings etc and it's been amazing to be honest.
PC people can be outrageous snobs, quick to put others down because it makes them feel good to stomp on others choices other than desktops.
These dudes have small dicks. Facts.
I play racing Sims on my laptop with no problems and often come in 1st place with it and a logitech G923 wheel/pedals.
Oh yeah, and with a rig I made myself out of wood! There's those snobs too ....oh you don't have a dd wheel? No $2000 rig to mount it to? What do you mean you play on a 15 inch laptop screen? You don't have three 40 inch curved screens to represent the cars windshield and door windows? Pfhhhh...you fuckin rookie noob beyotch!

Great video! I wish a watched it before purchasing a laptop for my son. As a console player for ACC it was a wish to have a PC to join the PC players in ACC heaven. It cost quite some money unfortunately.
Therefore I was "delighted" that I had to buy a better laptop for my son. 16 gb, RTX3060 (4gb?) i7. Finally we can race ACC on "PC". I had little knowledge of laptop and RTX.
Online racing doens't reach the FPS. My PS5 does that better than the laptop.
Maybe a RTX with a higher memory helps.
So my advice....I am glad to be able play ACC on a laptop, but maybe a better RTX is useful to get a better FPS. So some more patience to save more money is the way to go for ACC adapts
I have a laptop with the 2070 Super and I can play Assetto Corsa properly.
You shouldn’t take a gaming laptop that has rtx with 4gb. It’s better to choose a rtx 6 or 8 gb gaming laptop and 16 or 32 gb of ram.
Since my Lenovo Legion 5 has 16GB RAM but automatically uses 2GB of it, it says on the iracing specs that I only have 14GB RAM. Am I still able to use iracing or do I need to upgrade the RAM?

Lol I’ve been playing iracing in vr on my laptop predator 500 for about 3 years and have not had any problems at all💯✊👌and I’m still going today on it, love it, and I run a 5k plus pimax, my setup is on my channel if anyone would like to see it a full sim rig, and it’s still amazing
I think also that no one has said is that your internal memory and storage can be beefed up. I'm running a i7 16gb 1070 8gb and 500 SSD sata 3 and I play AC no problem with mods and I can also add another 16gb and tbs more storage that is going to increase performance again so I'm happy it does everything I ask well Ive got 187 fps no probs. Each to there own coz graphics card are cheaper now but I have mobility.

A little late but what is your take on laptops of today? I want to sim again and have a msi with i712700h and rtx3070ti 125 to 150tgp .i will connect it to my 4ktv with a gaming panel that i can sett to 120hz 1440p…will this be a good experience with this hardware.i mean will it get 100fps?
i learned the hard way, bought a lenovo legion 5i everything was perfect until warranty period ended then it started with cooling problems even well maintained and even using various expensive thermal paste, i'm never buying a gaming laptop again

I’ve been looking for a method of running triples on my laptop for a few days now and the answer I keep finding is that it’s not a viable path. The 3050ti in my laptop is bundled through the intel hd graphics. Is this the same in your Lenovo? Have you successfully launched triples with your laptop and if so, what was your solution? I’ve concluded that an ultra wide is the only option presented to me. I appreciate the video since, like you, I’ve looked quite a while for laptop specific sim racing content.
My laptop has a hdmi and usbc on the gpu but a mini dp on the Intel hd graphics. Only two monitors show up in nvidia surround.. I can still run iracing on triples.. And acc, rf2. Etc Etc

What about an rtx 3070ti laptop with an hp reverb g2 non iRacing ? Or at least an odessey g9?

I am almost buying the legion 5 pro with RTX 3070, do you think it will works fine with a 55” TV? My TV does not have Display Port but the refresh rate of it is 120hz.

@@franc9994 Yes, I bought it 2 weeks ago, amazing laptop, got the rtx 3070 with intel i7 12700h and 16gb RAM DDR5 4800mhz, this laptop is powerful and have an excellent temperature while gaming

Did the laptop work with the TV? Also do you race iracing on it, because I have a Legion 5 with 16GB RAM but iracing says it needs an minimum of 16GB RAM and my Laptop automatically uses 2GB of it and was wondering if that 2GB RAM actually mattered

I’m a huge fan of Lenovo Legion especially because they have USB-C display out which works great for VR. I’ll come back and shoot a recommendation

Jamming my Ryzen Tongfang (wootbook ultra iii)5800h 32Gigs ram and RTX 3060 Max P with my Quest 2 and I love it. iRacing 71Fps can get 90 but leave Quest at 72. AC is the same, cant really run ACC well nor RF2.
Just lower some settings on acc runs fairly decent even with 30 cars on track in multilayer, on a laptop

Guys, I just came from a computer store and they told me twice to go with a mini pc instead of a gaming laptop because they said in the medium term (1-2 yrs) the laptop is likely to be burned. Im going to spend almost 3k in a Rog Strix g17 with amd processor and a 3080 gpu because I want to run in vr 2-3 hours daily assetto corsa and iRacing and, for me, mobility is a must. Even a mini pc is too chunky for me. Whats your expererience on this?

Idk. Im in the same situation. If the pc is well ventilated why would it burn ? But you won't be able to upgrade mother board or gpu. Considering the fact that simracing games are not the most demanding games, we should be fine for more than a few years.

Temporarily yes, I think the new CSL DD PlayStation edition is where I'll land at. Someone sold me an SC2 Pro for basically a steal price, so I took it but I don't think I can stick with it. It's too heavy to lug back and forth from the US and Japan.

reason why compact gaming pc exist, for mobile event or lan event, laptop arent ideal for sim gear not the programs but the gear it self as you said they limitation evens with usb hub extension its. EMI is a bitch of all electronics and its bound to damage components. yet this is controversial topic that you should or shouldnt get a laptop device are built for specific reason and desktop pc are king. sim rigs arent mobile gear so why would you invest into a mobile device when its permanently in your house....we also looking at new sim gear that are much more powerful makes a huge difference between a logitech owner and Direct drive / load cell pedals owner ect
