  • Intel 12th Generation CPU's not only represent a big generational leap in performance over their predecessors but also pack some interesting new features which could make them ideal for Gaming and Sim Racing in particular.
    So today we're putting a 12700K to the test to see how it compares with some of our other systems and if it's worth considering for your next system.
    Big thanks to Scorptec for sending us their Aorus 3070Ti Gaming PC to check out for today's video. Check the system out or pick one up for yourself here:

    To be honest most modern cpu's will run all these simulators flawlessly, also these results shows that there is significant gpu bottleneck. However it would be interesting if you guys could test in VR as i heard that its significantly more demanding from cpu and its very important to keep 90fps or so at all times (unlike traditional pancake mode), might be interesting to revisit it again from that point. Great video none the less :)

    I race in vr with a Reverb G2, and I had all kinds of microstutter and tracking issues on my amd 5600x/3070 system. I eventually sold it and did a bit of a sidegrade to a 12900/3070ti system. Runs the G2 so much smoother in AC, iRacing, DR2.0 and AMS2 (ACC is still a mess though). Very happy with the change, those 1% lows are super important for vr.

    Loving my 12700k I picked up for 300 USD. Almost clean trade for my 10900k and hits 830 in CPU-Z single core which blows away 10th gen. AC and iRacing are very stable at 120hz in my Pimax 5k+ with very high settings (paired with a 3080 Ti). Running it at all core 5.1 with e-cores disabled and ring at 4.6, 4000mhz DDR4.

    just a random thought, but most mid - high tier graphics cards should support 4 monitors, I know my GTX 1080 works with 4 monitors with 0 issues, so I believe that most if not all newer cards should be able to handle 4 monitors as long as you have the graphics processing power to spare in terms of being able to still get a decent framerate while also driving the extra monitors

    • @boostedmedia
      @boostedmedia  Před 2 lety

      It just depends on the card. Many only allow 3 simultaneous outputs despite having more than 3 ports. So it’s just something to be aware of. People shouldn’t just assume 4 ports = 4 monitors.
