Not the 3050!!!😭😭😭 go with a used Rx 5700xt. Performs like the RTX 3060 and even beats is sometimes. (Not by much but it does) it goes for around 150 used. Very cable and budget friendly card.
If u want new u can also go for the 6600 which is about 20% faster for cheaper
An often overlooked part of simracing. Thank you for your work lol

This video comes at a great time where I’m looking to get a PC myself for Simracing, really good and helpful thanks!
Glad I could help!
Great and well thought out video. i started Simracing with a good PC, but I found this video informative.
Glad it helped! Stay tuned for more :)
i needed this so much
the RTX 3050 is BAD, its only good if your limited by your power supply and can't upgrade it, buy a RX 6600 for a little bit more or a used GPU if you can.
Nice builds to get anyone started down the sim racing rabbit hole.... wheel, pedals, rig are already a big investment.... and yeah, a gaming PC can get pricey with GPU prices lately... a decent pc doesn't have to break the bank though to work for racing. Shop around good prices for good equipment is out there...
I recently added triple 32" monitors to my GT DD Pro with V3 pedals and to run it all a new PC... ryzen 7800x3d, rx 6800 (non xt], ROG Strix b650 mobo, 64 gb ram, 3x 2tb nvme, watercooled!
Love it for ACC on triples...whole new level of immersion 😊
Great content.... coulda used this a couple months ago....but still useful and not many sim racers talking about this side of the hobby 👍
first time "firsting", binge watching all your videos man.
although i can't get decent simracing gear in my country, i hope one day i will be able to!. You're an inspiration for me!
Aww thank you! Just gotta work hard and before you know it you’ll be able to 👍
Very helpful, thanks 👍
Glad I could help 👍
Just saying for anyone looking for a cheap pc, I would suggest if you play assetto corsa to cheap out on a cpu, because I run quad monitors with a ryzen 3, and manage 80 fps
reading my mind eh?
been looking for my first sim racing pc... and first pc in general.
The fact that this guy recommends a 3050 says how much he knows about PC parts
i just looking for this videos 👍
We want sim tour back
Should I get a t300 and a th8A for a budget rig
It took you some time Oscar to do such video and focus on PC build but I think that you have nailed it down nicely - my addition to this is that chances are that if you like me are an "older" person "aka boomer or whatever" and you was born in 90s or 80s then I bet that you have notice the fact that imho there is a lot of HW that includes RGB lights and other fucking bullshit that yes is awesome for visual effect, but adds way too much on the price - which is a GOOD thing! If you care about performance rather than visuals then I would say that the hardware market has grown nicely in comparison to 20 years ago, where a decent hardware was expensive and it was considered as high-end for like 2 years, whereas in comparison to today where even like 5 years old top-tier hardware is still pretty much budget friendly and gets you still some amazing performance, not to mention that most of the Sim Racing games that are most famous and give you the best of sim racing experience are somewhat "old" and thus imho with a build for around 1k (my is about 500 eur build and it runs Assetto Corsa flawlessly) you get somewhat reliable build and all the money that you have saved you can then put into all the other peripherals and that is where imho a budget comes at its peak, as in what use it does if you have a fanatec wheel, pedals, and gearbox if your monitor is small, old and with a low refresh rate? Just to narrow down my thought, if you are about to build a proper mid-range sim racing unit and are on a budget (aka your monthly expense allows you to buy only one component per paycheck) then I would strongly recommend to make a plan where all your expenses pc-wise are mid-range, monitor or TV are the best that you can afford, cockpit the best that you can afford (you can always modify or change components on top tier aluminium profile cockpit), and the rest (wheel base, wheel rim, pedals, handbrake, gearbox) somewhat mid-range but also something that you have had your hands on and like it personally the most - the best investment is imho experience and time, as in think of it that it may take you like half a year to build your own dream sim rig, until it is in a stage where you can actually enjoy it.
Thanks for the thoughtful comment, certainly agree with a lot of what you said.
for the lower end computer I would reccomend going with something more amd focused as they are crushing the competition atm with theire price to performance options. I would honestly stay away from nvida and intel until yuo get to the 2k+ range were you can just beef out on whatever parts you want. Additionally if you are just using this to game then amds x3d proccesors are the go to because they are more gaming focused and in general require alot less cooling and power intake.
This is a great video but I have a couple of points
Instead of buying the 14400f u can instead buy the 13400f for much cheaper. I would do this so u can put more of Ur budget on things like gpu, ram, SSD etc. The 14th series processers are only 'boosted' versions of the 13400f and not worth sacrificing your budget on.
Instead of buying the 3050 instead I would buy a 6600 (if u want to buy new) or a 5700xt (if u want to buy used). The 6600 has better performance than the 3050 and also being cheaper. The 5700xt (which are starting to get harder to find on 2nd hand marketplaces) is an extremely capable card even beating the 3060 in titles
The WD blue is quite a cheap option and not that fast, instead I would buy I WD black instead which is much FASTER for a bit more. This means less waiting time and more time on the track.
this still is a great video so pls dont take this as a hate message
Or u can skip intel CPUs for gaming in general and go 7600x
Can you do a nascar heat 5 review
this video reminds me of videos from the youtuber named ''Tech By Matt''
great info
Glad you think so!
is the thrustmaster th8a usable on a logitech g29 wheel??
Yes because the TH8A is USB
I think the 5600 is better than 12100/13100 specially if you are planning to run nords 24hr on acc multiclass
Just began watching this right after doing my last driver swap in today's simrace. My current PC sucks so much the CPU occupancy kept being over 99%. Despite me running a GTX 1660 Super and an i5-9400 (which was top dog in 2019), it still cant run a game made in 2013.
My next PC will run a RTX 4070 Super Ti paired with an i9-13000 alongside other goodies that would justify 3 grands in canadian money.
Sounds like a great future upgrade. How’s your race going so far?
Dan Suzuki did some Benchmarks latetely and the 7800X3D looks better there than the i9.
@@Leynad778 Intel is slacking these past years lol
@@OCRacing Complete disaster. You know its bad when its one of the main reasons we got overtaken by GT2s while we raced in Daytona Prototype
The Intel cpu is the last of the generation... meaning no upgrade path without new mobo, ram, ssd....
Go with the amd 7800x3d.. better cpu, new architecture with upgrades down the road with just a cpu.. imo
you could better by a 12600kf for the 750-1k build
Now for a console version of this video
😅
@@OCRacing You knew someone was gonna ask.
Can’t leave us console sim racers out. 😂
@@pixelgaming0074there’s not many options it’s kinda self explanatory because there is only 2 options
remember kids assetto was made in 2014 iracing 2008ish and the i7 6700 was made in 2015 old man knowledge of the day.
i5 12400f
B660m
4060ti
Samsung 980 ssd 1tb
Psu 650w
Good or Bad?
Good for sim racing
@@pdx_datgyzdad8448 thanks for your reply
4070 SUPER for triple 1440p will that work on ACC?
You don't need 1440 for sim racimg, nor do you need a 4070
Lg 1080 100hz monitor is just fine
Put the focus on the cpu to run triples. 5800x3d or 7800x3d for 1440 or 4k, once again, you don't need 1440 or even 4k.
A 3070 or 6750 will be more than enough.
Thermalright fans or aio. No need to go crazy
Yeah but i want to go triples and have decent fps
Which requires a lot of graphical power
@user-bp9oj5ly1k 1080p 100 to 144hz with a 3080 or a rx 6900 xt and a 5800x3d will achieve that.
If you want 1440p, on triples, you're gonna need a $500 cpu. That's where your power comes from. Then atleast a 4070 ti super or AMD. IF it's just for gaming go AMD.
It's your dollar pimp, spend it wisely.
what amd cpu would you recommend for a budget pc?
Ryzen 5 5600x or 7 5700x
Ddr4 5600x or 5700s
Ddr5 7600 or 7700 Non X version
@@usleadershipareliars currently running a 6650xt 3600 should i upgrade to a 5600x?
@@fazesquidward5465 If you can? do it.
5600, not the “x” version because it comes with a cooler so you don’t need to spend money on one.
Hi Oscar is that $500 pc in usd? and also can is run iracing
Yes USD... and yes the specs for budget build will run iracing just fine
can you do iracing but a wierder series
🤨
Is the th8s an upgrade to the logitech g29 shifter?
Not worth the upgrade in my opinion
Ok, my g29 shifter broke a while ago i was thinking of replacing it with the th8s
If your looking at the thrustmaster shifters I would just go ahead and splurge on the th8a. You get a solid well built(metal) shifter that does both sequential and H pattern shifting. Also if your an aggressive shifter like I am it will take the beating like a champion fighter and be there for the next fight if you know what I mean
@@emanuelfigueroa414 i maybe could but the th8a is expensive so i could maybe buy one used
@@maurilare I wholeheartedly agree with you there. It really was a (not so) nice chunk of my u.s. $ Let's just say that my wallet cried very loudly for a bit, but I have no fear of it breaking. In my eyes a one time big purchase is cheaper in the long run than a bunch of cheap little ones but this is just one man's minor opinion. Either way do your research and who knows, maybe you'll find something just as strong or stronger for a touch less expensive that you'll enjoy for many years to come
OC tech tips
Bahaha 🤣
App. 20% of sim-racers are mainly using VR while the RTX-cards perform better in VR than the Radeon, so I would rather suggest AMD for the CPU and Nvidia for GPU for a high-performance build.
Thanks for commenting that, good point 👍
Pretty good guide but sadly it’s gonna get out dated in a year😢 Good vid oc!
brother why u already commenting the video came out 30 seconds ago 😭
🤣🤣🤣
@@shaquilleoatmeal2145 to try to get top comment.
@@notamorningdragon nah I’m just commenting what I think
Ima be honest, I don’t trust some of your choices for the lower and mid end hardware, you can get better stuff for the same price
$500 or lower just buy the latest console and save yourself the headache and buyers regret ps5 has great racing games that look amazing running 4K gt7 and ACC look amazing on ps5 even f12023 looks great. Ps5 plus subscription you can get f12023 and ACC with your subscription if you’re looking to save money
If you go AIO go Thermalright, if you want white Noctua fans, go thermalright.
Just go thermalright and save $500
W CONTENT!
W COMMENT!
Dont buy 3050 EVER. There are better used and new options
This is a great video. But 750k to 1k is now an entry not mid range. Even if things are better now it's just how it is now. For a pc to perform as good as even a console right now it's at least $750. Which is not mid range for a pc imo not in 2024.
I would agree. I decided to include a very budget build just for those who may only be able to afford it. For the most part though, I agree with you
Not first gang!
Not last either gang!
VR users crying, even my 13700k & 4080s aren't enough to max out iRacing.
What res and fps?
Nooooo not intel
I have 3 pcs. 14900k/4090, 12700k/3080Ti, 8700k/Titan XP SLI. The BEST $500 PC for Sim Racing is a PS5. In my opinion, if you can't afford a pricier build than that, you can't afford buttkicker setups, multi monitors, and definitely not an I racing sub lol. so why go worse on the experience without the benefits? PS5 is BY FAR the best bang for your buck. ACC in "4k" on ps5 is amazing.
Definitely a good point - thanks for mentioning
3050 are awful
sorry, but it aint it chief...
What is it then? 😳
