Hi, I just bought a 8nm csl dd, but I have a cheap racing rig. I am not in the position to spend anything over 250, so I was thinking of buying a Gt Omega ART without a seat, and using my old one. What should I do?
This wheel imo is the peak of our hobby for wheels. Period they just know how to design a wheel that doesn't look overly done yet has everything others do.
I definitely agree - would be interested in knowing what this doesn't have that someone could want.
@@OCRacingi think 1:1 working replicas for the cars will be peak but idk if we’re ever gonna get that soon besides fanatec
@@natexcarrillo3108it is 1:1 replica! Just with total 4 options, you can get exact Artura wheel as in real gt4 as Ascher produces it for them, but simracers need encoders
Etc. I drove with this wheel it is best i have ever tried!
Idk, the Moza GS GT V2 and FSR V2 do a lot of things better for half the price. They even match or exceed this wheel in quality featuring spring loaded mechanical buttons with actual travel and progressive resistance instead of just standard generic buttons with their annoying plasticy click as seen on this wheel.
Additionally, you get a great finish of real carbon fibre/aluminium/plastic on the Moza wheels instead of just alumium/plastic like on the Asher racing one, not every wheel needs real carbon fibre front plates and paddleshifters, but the fact that this one doesn't have any of that for more than twice the price is a bit concearning to me. Especially since with moza you end up getting magnetic, photoelectric carbon fibre paddleshifters on any wheel above 350usd...
Addressing the grips, what I will say is that I personally prefer the perforated leather ones on the moza wheels instead of rubber ones, but people driving exclusively with gloves have had other opinions when I've discussed this in the past so I'll leave that open for personal preference since I understand that everyone feels a bit different there, but again, real perforated leather is a lot more expensive to manufacture than just standard rubber grips, and just further not justifying the pricetag here.
My final ick, atleast considering the pricetag, the quick release system and compatability is nice but the QR itself is quite lacking, but that's not the wheels fault specifically. Still, 1600usd is crazy for that if I again, draw a comparison to a 550 or 750 usd moza wheel which has a nice, snappy spring loaded one made fully of aluminium from a real racecar, fully wireless and with onboard telemetry.
To not only rant about this wheel but also mention some of the good things I noticed, the rotary encoders and dials opposed to the moza wheels seem to be made of aluminium which is an edge it has over the plastic ones on the moza wheels which although they feel nice and it's no cheap plastic, are a bit behind in comparison. The only other real benefit I see that this has above a 750usd FSR wheel is that the screen is a touch more customizable, but that's purely a bit of software, the FSR matches it everywhere else from a functionality standpoint and exceeds it on quality, again, for not even half the price.
I just see this wheel as a bit of a crashgrab because it has mclaren written on it.
I love this wheel however I personally prefer the version without the dash as it looks very out of place to me, none the less it’s perfect
For me this is for sure a wheel i got on my radar for the future, everything just feels perfect to me, and being able to use the Asetek QR for a "wireless" experience just makes this wheel so much better for me.
and you get 5% off using code "ocracing" 😉
1500 for a wheel is absolutely insane, i thought the 400 dollar sf1000 from thrustmaster was expensive 😂
Yup, definitely not my tax bracket 🤣
yeah just another $1500 wheel in a market flooded with wheels at that price point.. SimRacing is getting a little to "Boujee" lately.
insane is 100$ for buttons in other colors
Same here. I'm not into F1 but thinking if the 250 GTO wheel also for 399 is worth it :-o
(And to be serious I don't think the 250 GTO wheel is worth it but Ferrari branded stuff for a low price would also feel wrong, lol)
@@user-my3yp1wb2z The Racing Knob Kit is 29€ so either he got it wrong or misunderstood something. Or it's me who gets it wrong :-o
Welp never say never. I told myself I’d never spend $300 for just a wheel. I currently have a $650 and a $700 wheel but this cost more than both of them combined 😭
Never say never 🤞🤞
Ger version with out display! Or just with out dual clutch 840eur...
with $1500 i was able to buy myself my first DD wheelbase + wheel and LC pedals as a complete package. Dont know how people can justfiy spending that kind of $$ for one single wheel. But if you can more power to you.
I was thinking the same, at the end of the day though, there just are levels to the game 😭
@@OCRacing Its the same for the Active Pedals $2500 for one is absurd don't get me wrong what they can do software wise is impressive but unless you got some extra funds or are a pro driver whos benefiting from it not the average sim racer
Dang that steering wheel is fire good vid oc!
Good comment Team_Spacex!
Funny how adding a screen that you have to take your eyes off the road to look at makes them twice as expensive as they should be. It is hilarious.
On-wheel displays are for LMP/F1 seating positions, since they don’t have large dashboards and the wheel is directly in line-of-sight. Useless for GT or Rally as you stated.
That wheel cost more then my whole setup
Hi Oscar, my new favorite rim. Got traction bars on the truck, no more bouncing🙄🙋👍
But the bouncing gave it personality! 🤣
@@OCRacing only smoke now😆
@@edcadlick2650 😂
You can still use it for gt7 on ps5 via sim hub... Your pc and ps5 juat have to be on the same network and itll read the telemetry data.. fyi
Plz make a video on how to enhance immersion with cheap cosmetic upgrades
Great review :) I see that you are using a Trak Racer with the Asetek Wheel base. What Wheel base support are you using? I ask them and they recomended to order the universal wheel plate.
Hey, I’m using the TR-One mounting bracket
@@OCRacing thanks ☺
How does the handles feel? Sticky silicone or?
Let’s get this kid to 100k subscribers.
hi, when will the sim tour project series come back? and what aluminum profile rig would you recomend?
Sooner than you think 👀
Where do you live?
Isane wheel brother. Thanks for the review! How do you feel comparing it to the GSI Hyper P1?
Thanks Cecilio. Not totally sure as I’ve never used any GSI product before. I’ll see what I can do
Waiting for delivery, can't wait 🎉🎉🎉 since a year now....
Beautiful wheel and it cost more than my whole setup 😂
😭🤣
Its what Fanatec should've beer doing years ago...sad.
Whats Aseteks answer gonna be with the invicta? The wheel gane is gonna be interesting in 24
It’s definitely gonna get heated soon 👀
Asetek and Ascher are working together, so this IS Aseteks answer
Really great looking wheel! Love it, but spicy price for me and console gamer here
Yup, it's certainly pricey! Have you thought about upgrading to PC?
@@OCRacing I dont use my Sim gear as much as I want to, so it wont justify the whole Pc process

I'd get the vpg v-pgt over this because it looks like an actual racing wheel aside from the replaceable badge which conveniently fits the porsche crest ;)
I'd have to look into it!
Me watching this knowing I will not be buying this
Will i get a hello from the best youtuber?

Is the th8a a good shifter for 200€
Not for that price, no
if only i had the budget...
I can only afford the knob kit
Great review. I like that little touch of extra colour set, should you wish to customize the wheel. I have seen many people go with certain colour pattern on their rigs and this could be great to maintain that pattern. Very little detail but at this price point these are the things the potential customer is looking for. Ascher's wheels were rock solid before, so it does not come as a surprise this wheel follows that good trend. I would say something which might trigger few people but in case of aesthetics - which is very subjective - before Ascher Racing was representing German engineering to me. What do I mean by that? Rock solid product but quite ugly looking. On the other hand Cube Controls was Italian engineering - beautiful design but many reviews point out its unreliability. That wheel is not only the best looking wheel in Ascher's collection. I would risk saying it is in top 3 best looking wheels on the market. I personally like the version without the screen more.
why dont you have 100k subs yet
🤣
Buy new performance tires so I can go vroom vroom or this wheel so I can go vroom vroom at home 🤔🤔🤔🤔
The 100$ to get buttons in different colours is crazy. Why not just have it customisable when you buy it instead?
So from my understanding, the optional button pack retails for $30, however, they are currently listed at $99 for early access? That's what I understood by looking at the product page.
The buttons are RGB and the different button caps come with the wheel. The $100 is for the aluminium knob kit which is for the rotaries and multi function switches
@@designamk1160 Yeah, I know, that’s what I meant. Still crazy to have it as an accessory kit with different colours instead of having it customisable when you order it.
4rth ????!!! lets go
No podium? Smh
Bavarian Simtec is a better wheel for the price
Where is the gigachad in the comments?
not a fan of this grip type. with this price, they shouldve given it genuine leather
Maybe not genuine leather as that’s not what’s seen on real race cars but some type of non-stick rubber would have been better imo
I would like to suggest, if you have time for the build, the Pokornyi engineering wheels. They have something for everyone, and you can really tailor the cost to whatever you want. I’m currently building the GTEv2, might replace the main housing with aluminum though to get a more realistic feel to bring it in line with the actual Porsche 911 RSR steering wheel.
yo
Yo, how are you doing this fine Tuesday?
Price makes no sense bro
I didn’t come up with it 🤷♂️ 🤷♂️
The price actually does make sense, it's a low volume, high quality product, built using quality materials. It's not a G29.
@@Smokeyr67 no sorry it doesnt
@@RangersFCclips actually, it does. When you add up the cost of parts (screen, buttons paddle mechanisms) aluminium + machining, moulding grips etc the material costs are far from cheap. Then they have to pay staff to assemble them, pay for advertising, R&D, customer service costs it all adds up. If the price is too much for you, so be it, I'm sure that you're not their target market. Nor am I, but there are people with the disposable income and the desire to own the best equipment for their needs. Will it make them a better pixel driver? Probably not, but if it makes their Sim racing experience more enjoyable then it's money well spent.
@@Smokeyr67 1500 for a wheel alone makws no sense no matter how its made who puts it together or how fast the post man is bringing it..far cheaper wheels do the same job and u will get the same time on a lap .

???? Its just a wheel like all the other wheels. I use my old round wheel for all my games. It works fine

Delta simtech evo way better
I’ll have to take a look! Thanks
Stop joking man, i'm 100 % sure if you will try both, mclaren will be choosed all the day! And stickers on buttons, already stone age!
I don’t get why they’d name it after the worst McLaren ever built
It is overpriced for the quality, you are just paying for the Mclaren brand, not worth it. The $300-600 wheels should work just the same.
