Thrustmaster compatibility?
These types of prices need to be normalised. Unfortunately, the reason most think this product is a steal is due to the common practice of monstrously overpriced sim racing products. This made sense with limited competition and extremely niche audience, but needs to change along with more companies and bigger audiences. This requires a mentality change from us the consumer. Buy value, not name brand. Good for Simagic
Correct, This wheel only arrived due to a new player coming in and shaking up the industry. Moza. Many companies could have done the same, but due to not ever needing too. Why would they?
Thanks Moza.
Exactly. When I started out, I couldn’t comprehend that a rim or a button box could cost as much as or even more than the base itself. And then like you mentioned, over time I too got conditioned to think that this is what these things usually cost. And to confess, I did get myself a GSI wheel. I love it, no question. But I think it is supremely overpriced for what it is.
For me Simagic is the biggest name of them all. First you buy for value then in becomes the name. They are heroes making premium products available and shaking up the market. And I am also talking about bases and pedals.
Exactly what I was gonna say. Simagic is continually touted as the best eco system you can buy into. Best pedals for the money , best wheel base for the money , etc. Most complete eco system with quality well reviewed gear. And they are sold out at all times. Somehow they still chose to make the only affordable priced formula wheel with these features.
Are you talking about “cough cough, SIMUCUBE?”
Not only is it cheap but it looks good and fits them all. Simagic has some or someone genius at their payroll and simagic is gonna make some hefty profit out of this wheel
For real 🤣
It's the best wheel on the market period idc what's more expensive whats nicer or not this wheel is perfection.
That’s really insane. I would definitely pick that up
Ye def a strong contender
I guess we should thank Moza for bringing cost effective wheels back. I love my KS and much of this wheel reminds my of that. Well done simagic.
Yes moza wheels are great and half the price of simagic. I miss that from when I had r12. Csv2p was amazing. I’m on simagic now and their wheels are insanely overpriced in my country.
Gt pro wheel is almost as expensive as the wheelbase and I find it on par with cs v2p
@@FlamingCurtain In saying that, is the cost of Simagic worth it over Moza? I was going to go R12, but now am thinking Alpha Mini. Not sure if the 50% price difference would be worth it. Were you upset with the Moza? I have had a G27 from new, so both would be a massive upgrade lol.
@@ChoppaMateI mean it is better in terms of oscillating and overall feel, though my simagic is prone to overheating after a while. I just rest a bit and it’s fine, but not a good sign.
I don’t regret switching but I miss the affordable and high quality wheels from moza.
But for me wheelbase is more important than wheels.
@@ChoppaMateI use an R12 with the GT Neo wheel with the maglink adapter. Moza and Simagic use the same QR. I’d love to switch to a Simagic base eventually but the R12 feels great too.
I was gonna get the KS for the R9 I have coming in but glad I seen this 🙏
I think the difference in sound would probably be due to resonance from how much hollow space is behind the buttons rather from the buttons themselves
I hold the same opinion. This button looks the same as the buttons on FX, FXPro, and GTC. The tactile feel of the buttons is within the dial, and the different sizes and positions of the buttons may cause slight differences in sound. The tactile feel is the same.
Great review! Might pick that up at some point
Just ordered through your affiliate link. Looking forward to getting it fired up!
Thanks for the thorough and informative review!
Thanks a lot!! :)
Just ordered one for my first rig with an Alpha mini! Super stoked about it :D
I love my Alpha Mini. Def going to be picking up this rim
Hey there! How is it? Thinking of buying one and a mini haha.
thats your best review ever (quality wise). it feels like a mkhb review
Thank you thank you ✋😔
Thanks for the review, just one thing you got wrong, the body is carbon fibre reinforced plastic like the Asetek wheels, if it was a full carbon fibre body it would not be this cheap. And you totally missed the wheels biggest feature, simhub compatibility, which allows you to totally customise the LEDs for pretty much any flags, telemetry etc from the game.
exactly about SimHub telemetry, is now about UNLIMITED experiences and 73 LED are regonized to be usable and drivable like we want, good step !
If this was carbon fiber. It would probably shake your teeth apart until one day it snaps or maybe finding a fracture! So in my book, much cheaper and better. I've had a carbon bike snap on me before. Not fun. Thank you Cannondale.
@@JohnnyGification
If you have no idea about composites, just dont talk about them.
What you know as carbon fibre is not the samd material everywhere.
I am for sure going to nab this wheel pretty soon. I have the alpha mini wheel base and the D wheel (I forgot the name lol), but I absolutely love using them. And I am getting into IMSA racing in iRacing with the boys and this seems to be a logical addition. And the clicking of the paddle shifters are so damn satisfying.
Thanks for the discount code.
I pre ordered it on the 18th and I refresh the order page daily hoping to see that it shipped lol I’m insanely excited and I’m very happy I did not get the formula v2.5 that I was gonna get before discovering this wheel
you will clearly love it!
SimRacingPros in Canada said they're expecting wheels Feb 10th by the way. It was delayed 2 weeks from its initial launch date
@@achmadtheterror the shop i ordered from in Miami said shipping end of this month so let's see what happens.
Simagic keeps making good new products with good prices. I’ve been trading out all of my gear to Simagic starting with the Alpha U base and the sequential shifter. I think I’m going to swap out my Heusinkveld Sprint pedals for some fully loaded p1000’s next.
Nice I just bought it online here in China.. Its delayed due to Chinese New Year but I should get it in 3 weeks
this looks really good for the price!
Seriously considering selling all my Fanatec stuff and going all in on simagic
I did exactly that late december last year
I sold everything to go moza as well very happy
@@AllardWolffhow's it going with the gear? I want to upgrade from Logitech still but I don't want fanatec
@@manuelhernandez2017 i'm in the same boat. I got the csl elite v2 pedals but my shipping experience was terrible. I was really close to getting a wheelbase and a couple wheels from them, but after my experience, everything i've been seeing online and the fact they don't allow resellers, and barely answer emails just turns me away. That and the fact their QR sucks from what i've seen if you don't upgrade. I've been looking at moza and simagic too, but recently been really interested in asetek. Their usb QR looks awesome
Planning the same here. Selling CLS DD + Formula 2.5 + CS RS wheel to go for Simagic all-in (already got the pedals)
Thanks for review! Do you by any chance know whether those grips are replacable ones ? As some user already report that they are easy to wear.
Is there any way you could get your hands on a GTA Pro Model Racing Simulator? From GTR simulators.
I am so tempted on getting one but there are little to no reviews on it. And I figured you have seen your fair share of gear and could give a fair review on it.
Will this work with the Asetek usb quick release. So i can attach the usb from the simagic wheel directly to the usb from the asetek qr?
Want base would u recommend the moza r12 or the simagic mini
Can it be used with the moza r5 wheelbase and the fanatec elite v2 pedals?
Is the fanatec f1 wheel better than the gt neo?
Is it an upgrade from the Fanatec McLaren GT3 wheel or are they pretty much the same?
Simagic always brings the pricing down for every other brand while giving high quality products, not all heroes wear capes folks...
Does it really work with any wheelbase? For example I have a thrustmaster TX
Tbh I don't mind having to buy the maglink to use it on my Moza R9, this wheel is much more appealing than the Moza KS, which I was thinking of buying it in a few months.
without the ks, we wouldnt have the gt neo. i honestly love em both
Could you please tell me a good starting setup for a teen that’s just now getting a job I need a really budget and versatile setup
What sim racing gloves do you use?
This smashes the Mclaren v2.
not the same price
How does this compare to the cube controls f-core for VR use?
You should try the MVH Studios F1L Series 2 as its only £200 UK and comes with full telemetry display and full compatibility on both console and pc and on any wheelbase!
And the F1L runs on Playstation and has actual telemetry in Gran Turismo...
They were actually quite rude over email when wanting to work with me so I’ll pass 🫤
@@bla6083that's interesting, how does it connect to the console?
@@OCRacing Oh really? I have never had a problem with them and in my experience their customer service has been incredible.
Being only 280mm and the buttons looking like something designed by Fisher Price, I don't think it would be comparable . Looks like a toy. Something from the "My Lil' Sim Racer" line.
This is not made from forged carbon fibre... i believe its a carbon fibre composite and from what I've seen its very strong but saying its forged carbon is incorrect
I need a new wheel for my R9, Moza KS or GT Neo?
You're right Oscar it's a beautiful rim😊🙋👍
It sure is 😅
great review. Is it possible to use simucube 2 interface on the wheel?
It’s only compatible with the simagic software and simhub
You mean Simucube QR?
Yes, you need Simagic Maglink Cable. Unmount the Simagic QR, Mount Maglink and your Simucube QR and you are ready to go.
Do you have a moza discount code?
Is it compatible on console with a fanatec wheel ?
How are the rotary encoders attached? Grub screw? Just wondering if they could be swapped out.
Idk about the neo but on the pro hub on their other wheels they can be swapped
Looks like a bargain compared to the other wheels in this price point. I am into simagic eco system with a Alpha wooho
Just got a Moza GS...Having to buy an adapter for the NEO and using a wire is a deal breaker withj Moza base!
Review the simlab handbrake
Can i use this on moza?
can I use an fanatic wheelbase with this wheel
Just note you can't just attach Simagic NEO to a... let's say Moza wheelbase and get it working right out the gate. ^^
The reason it's possible with "ANY wheelbase" is the USB attachment. And you will need a wheelbase that can fit in NRG. The hyped feature this thing has is the SimHub compatibility.
It wouldn’t work on a moza? I’m considering upgrading to a moza R9 and would consider this wheel with it. But it wouldn’t work?
Just as well Moza use NRG syle QR's then
@@joeygarcia7468 just get the Simagic Alpha Mini instead of the R9..
@@joeygarcia7468the wheel should attach to moza wheel bases but the buttons will not work. You will have to connect a usb from the wheel itself to your pc
you can attach any QR you need to maglink addon metal plate, not only NRG
How is this vs the Moza KS wheel?
Can i play this wheel with my fanatec wheelbase, on my Playstation 5?
You think with the usb adapter it‘s possible to use it on Consoles? Just wondering because I use PC and Xbox so would be nice to have a working wheel for both!
I don’t believe it’s compatible on console unfortunately
No it doesn’t work plugged into a console. It needs to have either the simagic software or simhub running for it to function. Also Xbox compatibility is dependent on the wheel itself being specifically Xbox compatible. PlayStation compatibility is dependent on the wheelbase.
There is a device called sigma cortex that apparently makes all wheels and pedals from simagic work on consoles. I don't have a console so have no idea how well it works or what it costs but you may want to do your own research on it. I personally am glad most wheels don't have ps5 compatibility so those of us without ps5s don't have to pay the Sony tax that vendors must pay for ps5 compatibility
Would this work on playstation if using a compatible wheel base like a fanatec? I know the compatibility chips for PlayStation are inside the wheel base, but I wasn’t sure if it is because of the usb that needs to be plugged in
No
wanted to get a Fanatec Mclaren GT3 rim but I don't think I will after seeing this
One thing you didn't mention is this is the first Simagic wheel you can use with simhub.
damn!! IMMA GET IT ON PREORDER
3% off using code ocracing 🥸
Damn im gonna buy it once i got money
🤝
this wheel will not work on a Fanatec base for PS5 right?
Not for console no
Where are your gloves from
how does this compare with the moza ks? im getting the r9 soon and was thinking of getting the ks, but am i better off getting this and using the usb connection?
You would be much better off getting an Alpha mini and this. The quality is a whole level higher. No one goes from Simagic to Moza. So this will save you at least one future upgrade
@@wangte27 i was debating it but im coming from a g29 and after using that for 6 years anythings better lolll
mostly going for moza because its cheaper + can get a decent circle rim for a looot cheaper than simagic
As a simagic alpha mini owner who has tried a friend's r9, I definitely think mine was worth the higher cost. It's slightly smoother, feels significantly more than 1nm torque ffb and haven't had any issues at all in the year I've had it. It also has a better encoder. I really think it is more in the r12s class than the r9s. The 9nly regret I have is this wheel wasn't out when I bought it and although I love my gtc wheel, I'm pretty sure I don't love it $150 more... lol
@@rogerdiz3520 what'd you do for pedals? im starting to consider it (whats another £150 atp)
@@hhaylow you can get any ebay circle rim to fit the QR. Don't sacrifice the quality of the wheelbase for that especially given the modest price difference. You will end up with buyers remorse if you did. Trust me.
how does it compare to the ks wheel from moza?
A whole level better. When you actually get to test them side by side the difference is shocking
It's a great wheel, but the frame is made of carbon composite (reïnforced plastic) It's the same material as the Asetek wheels and the shaft of the CLS DD. This wheel has one layer of real forged carbon.
***I hope a rep from Simagic and Fanatec see this: As someone who has been deep in thrustmaster for over 10 years. Was about to sell my kit to a friend starting out and go upgrade all fanatec... But. With all the red flags Fanatec has had lately and Simagic making the investments like this in a VALUE filled item THIS attracts me to say... drop thousands on investing into Simagic and not Fanatec if I don't see a massive turnaround improvement and general quality improvement from Fanatec. I might just have to go Simagic for the next ten years haha.
I know no one cares but I'm one of many who would face such a decision and then be a walking promoter for the next 5-something years right... You know how many T300rs I've sold? I don't either but word of mouth is a hell of free marketing thing....
Keep it up Simagic and thank you I'll likely be a full suite new client soon enough.
As someone that just recently sold all my Thrustmaster gear and moved completely to Simagic, I can honestly say... Do it! World of difference in every way. And I'd do it soon while you can still get a decent buck for your TM Gear. With bases and wheels coming out like this at more reasonable prices, I can see the market for TM's gear to drop heavily in value. Don't get me wrong. I loved my TS-XW base! Excellent performance and decent FFB but moving to the Simagic Alpha is like night and day. It's completely renewed my excitement for Sim Racing. ... and the wheels! Man! What a difference in feel and quality! I went from having 5 TM wheels to just the GT4 & a Rally Wheel with Simagic and it's like I'm in a whole different world of immersion. WAY better feel, quality.... everything!
i appreciate you writing this. its motivating@@dukeleather
I think it needs a screen. Good vid oc!
Probably impossible at this price 😢
honstly the only thing ive ever heard people say about wheels with screens is it looks cool but i never look at it well racing. kinda defats the point of a screen if your never gonna look at it and use it
can i use this on a logitech g29 xD
Oscar is the best sim racing content creator
Truly honored ✋😔
do the KS god damnt!!!!
does it work on the t300rs for ps5?
Unfortunately no, it will not work on consoles
Brilliant package but I am getting more and more used to the all-metal construction feel... may be too late for me. Cheers,
Damn, the MOZA KS doesn't look as good now. 😂
This launches 2 weeks after I buy the KS. fFS
Without the KS launching you wouldn't have this wheel
@@scorps0326 I know. Simagic probably wanted to challenge MOZA.
@@scorps0326without Simagic, there would not be a Moza. Simagic is the pioneer Chinese DD sim company and their QR system was copied by moza at the start
@@wangte27 maybe so. I think moza more copied fanatec haha. Especially with the R9. I'm fairly sure the QR come out of real world application race cars before simagic or moza had it. I could be wrong.
Either way, cheaper products is a win win for everyone 👍
Does it work wirh t248😂
fanatec needs to release something to beat this and the MOZA KS
fanatec dosint need to do anything cus even if there users buy a gt neo thares a good chance thare gonna buy a fanatec qr and podium hub instead of buying an emulator
If any of your wheels go missing just know it wasn’t me😂
😂
could that work on csl dd?
Yes, but you also need the Fanatec Podium Hub, which is expensive.
You're right i forgot about that, fck.
Shame cause the wheel is stunning
Does it go on logi g pro?
logi hasint released a 70mm qr and no one has made a 3ed party one yet. so no you cant put it on a logi g pro. logi has locked thare ecosystem for the g pro more than fanatec has locked thare ecosystem.
@@TheRivalryDriftinglogi has no ecosystem really. It’s been so long and still nothing from them which is weird
Simagic needs to get PlayStation Licensing!
Will it work on a Thrustmaster T300 wheel base?
Too heavy and too big
So not ANY wheel base then. 😁 Looks great though…..
It will if you get a TM side QR & the Maglink.
I preordered mine a month ago to use on my T300 hahaha
The regular T300 rim weights about 1.2kg, the GT Neo is 1.5kgm and is larger in diameter @ 30cm, so I do expect a decrease in FFB
Got this to lock myself into upgrading my base anyway, so its a lil investment
@@60000L The Simagic QR weighs 400 grams and the TM one much less...
@@60000L You will increase the chances of heating up and killing your base.
The t300 wheel is already too heavy, which is why many prefer the open wheel, which is lighter
I will sell my Formula V2.5 X once it´s arrived and buy this instead
I don't see any buddons on the wheel. Just buttons. ;)
Pre ordered it, it's a shame it's $400 in Europe instead of $290
only 290 dollars is a steal
Yeah, extremely competitive at that price

You mention production cost of this wheel...I can tell you that wheel is about 50 dollars to produce, and in the real world should cost 125-150 dollars but we are so programmed to pay extreme prices because this hobby is niche and low volume. Thats not the case anymore, atleast not as niche as it was 10 years ago. Prices need to start coming down so we can finally attract more and more sim racers.
3% percent off is pathetic but wonderful wheel and i will pick it up with your discount code
It is really bad and I should probably talk to them about increasing it 🤣 still better than nothing to be fair haha. Thanks for the support
Affordable damn... That's over half a month of rent XD
That's about 3 days rent here... lol
When you don’t even have 290 dollars 😳.
This would make sense if they beat the others brands price ... which is barely valid for the moza ks wheel for example ...
The KS wheel doesn’t come close when it comes to quality though. This is levels above it
No other brand makes a simhub compatible wheel with this quality and functionality for anywhere near this price. Closest I can think of is the grid MPX which is over $1000
@@OCRacinguhm would not agree in general ... lets compare buttons to buttons for example. MOZAs are of way better quality id say when i listen to those on the neo. 3 rotaries on the front with the MOZA vs 4 with the neo. Okay ... one for the neo. Same with the housing. This goes to SOMAGIC and thats kind of a bummer with MOZAs KS ... but the thumb rotaries and toggles are better on the MOZA again. And then we have pnp on MOZAs system vs a USB connection... so they both have pros and cons but lets keep it honest. Id still prefer the KS over this. Since most people run drivers + simhub anyway there is ne benefit or disadvantage
The KS is as compatible as this one ... ;) it comes with everything for adaptation aswell... quality is quite a subjective topic. I simply wouldnt switch. KS is sturdy AF with absolute 0 flex. So what benefit does really come with the carbon fiber than this idea in the back of your head that persieves this as "better quality"? In the end its a surface...
@@alecmillea4539 where is the need for that if i have to run the base drivers anyway ...
And i still run simhub for my button box ... dash runs Moza, wheelbase runs Moza. So as i said this is no benefit nor disadvantage
@@Timmy_with_CTRL The MOZA KS is only compatible with other bases if you get the Universal Hub Kit (39 USD), which costs more than the Maglink that Simagic is offering (19 USD). Your point of the PnP for the KS is kinda redundant cause you still gotta have an extra hub vs just a USB for third-party compatibility lol. Thumb encoders on the KS are made of plastic vs the GT Neo, which are made of aluminium. The KS has analog thumbsticks that translate to digital signal for some reason, but the GT Neo has 7-way funky switches. The KS is not Simhub compatible, so that's already a big disadvantage in customization. Plus, the GT Neo has LEDs for the rotary encoders, AND has the customization already built into their own software, so you don't even need Simhub. I've handled both the GT Neo and the KS in person, and the GT Neo is straight up built better.
Ultimately, we'll be biased towards any of the Rims, but your comment literally pointed out the KS' flaws (No. of rotary encoders, Rim & knob material, Customizability with the LEDs). This isn't any reason to switch to the GT Neo if you already have a KS, but it sure as hell has a higher value proposition than the KS
if you have a pc
