as an ex-tf2 fan, as of 2020, soldier actually is kinda the most op class there is does high damage, can move quick af, and has the stock shotgun, which is one of the few stock secondaries that's *FUCKIN SOLID*

But if you're skilled enough against the class meant to counter them then you can easily turn the tides. I'm a heavy main so I decided to get better at sniper and spy due to snipers being completely dominant when it comes to the matchup and it helps considerably. Honestly tf2 is incredibly balanced despite what people say, though of course there are "some" exceptions when considering non-stock weapons.

It's a pit that not many creators get out of, it's very lucrative and relatively easy to do. It is extremely unfortunate and dumb that he has been blacklisted by twitch, but that still doesn't solve the hundreds of eyes that are taken by a duplicate video with unscripted commentary spliced within, even as hilarious as Pyro's can be, it's still tenfold less effort than a regular commentary video. It's a bigger issue than just Pyro, react content as a whole is detrimental. Like seriously, back in those days, Engineers can only place and not relocate his buildings and Pryo didn't get the air blast. So I'm willing to bet some of his biases against Soldier is because of his biases for the 360 Version. Now, Soldiers are still pretty damn strong all around as a class, with the fancy rocketjumping tricks many Soldier mains can pull out, alongside a strong inventory of respectably powerful weapons, he's still definitely a strong offensive class, but Scouts can definitely clip a wing off the Soldier with some tasty meatshots, Pryos can reflect mid-range rocket attacks, Heavies are pretty well suited to ground Soldiers if they're in the same area, and Demomen could two-pill him outside of having the Battalion's Backup. And at least in three of those four points, if lag's not bad, then those same conditions can haunt a Soldier's time on 2Fort or Dustbowl or any of the other maps on that version of the game.

I recall stories of people unwishing to do TF2 content anymore and being harrassed because of that. Sketchek still playsz TF2 pubs to this day and I encouraged him to do what he lied about. He is Australian but he lives in the northern states of Australia. He tries to only queue for Singapore based TF2 pub servers but sometimes you can catch him in Australian servers.

If a content creator I really liked faked their death, I'd be pretty irritated depending on how hard I mourned, but later on I think that irritation would turn to relief. I've dealt with so much loss in my life, and if anyone I've lost came out of hiding and declared they were never actually dead, that would be akin to a divine miracle to me. That's how badly I miss them.
Another weird thing to add is that about a year or so after he returned and posted a bunch more vids he deleted/privated all of his videos without any warning. I saw a video talking about it and they suggested that he might have moved on to being a vtuber with some decent evidence to back it up but now it seems all the vids are back so idk

As someone who has been in the TF2 community for the past 10 years, I'm definitely disappointed with how Sketchek decided to do this stunt for mere clout on the Internet where even if he still decided to upload regularly, his action of faking his death outnumbers anything that he does and just puts a sour taste into people's mouths and him disabling comments on all videos shows that.
Yo Stick, just wanted to point out in the politest least aggressive way that originally he had already deleted his channel but then brought it back as an "Archive" of sorts. He also stopped posting videos completely on the Sketchek channel and is now doing something else. I won't really elaborate on what he's doing now (He's a contracted VTUBER), but he has apologized for his actions and acknowledged them in his new career. Of course I don't endorse faking your death in any way, but he explained that the reasoning he had done it was due to having a horrible familial situation. He's probably in a lot better place now mentally, so I'd like to think he understands that he's done bad. TL;DR His channel was originally deleted but was brought back as an archive, he understands that what he did was inexcusable and he gave us a reason why he did them, and I don't think disabling comment sections was done because of anything related to the faking death situation. I don't endorse or support his actions but I understand why he did them now that context has been explained.

Soldier is slow and has to lead his shots most of the time, which means if you're playing against someone with a lot of spatial awareness you will never hit your shots with the rocket launcher directly unless you're willing to suicide for the kill

Either way my point remains that certain things will not be forgotten and can always be used against someone. The internet simply is risky business and can make or break people within seconds.

@@cakey2097 Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't Xbox 360 TF2 like one of the oldest TF2s to exist in a still playable state? Like seriously, back in those days, Engineers can only place and not relocate his buildings and Pryo didn't get the air blast. So I'm willing to bet some of his biases against Soldier is because of his biases for the 360 Version. Now, Soldiers are still pretty damn strong all around as a class, with the fancy rocketjumping tricks many Soldier mains can pull out, alongside a strong inventory of respectably powerful weapons, he's still definitely a strong offensive class, but Scouts can definitely clip a wing off the Soldier with some tasty meatshots, Pryos can reflect mid-range rocket attacks, Heavies are pretty well suited to ground Soldiers if they're in the same area, and Demomen could two-pill him outside of having the Battalion's Backup. And at least in three of those four points, if lag's not bad, then those same conditions can haunt a Soldier's time on 2Fort or Dustbowl or any of the other maps on that version of the game.

Wasn't this thing about being left alone by their old fanbase an ill topic among many former TFtubers? I recall stories of people unwishing to do TF2 content anymore and being harrassed because of that. In this case, Sketchek still DID go over the board in order to make people piss off, but I kind of understand the notion, because TF2 fans (if those stories I recall did happen en masse) tend to be VERY clingy to their CZcamsrs. Either way, both by successfully pretending to be dead, and by completely destroying all his reputation, he *did* get everyone off his tail.

If a content creator I really liked faked their death, I'd be pretty irritated depending on how hard I mourned, but later on I think that irritation would turn to relief. I've dealt with so much loss in my life, and if anyone I've lost came out of hiding and declared they were never actually dead, that would be akin to a divine miracle to me. I'm not going to lie, when I first saw that video my first thought was that dammit, that was my idea. I of course was no longer considering it as a way to blow up a channel because of how much of a degenerate thing it is to do with how many people have actually ended their lives on the website. It would have been like spitting in the face of their legacy.
As someone who has been in the TF2 community for the past 10 years, I'm definitely disappointed with how Sketchek decided to do this stunt for mere clout on the Internet where even if he still decided to upload regularly, his action of faking his death outnumbers anything that he does and just puts a sour taste into people's mouths and him disabling comments on all videos shows that.
Yo Stick, just wanted to point out in the politest least aggressive way that originally he had already deleted his channel but then brought it back as an "Archive" of sorts. He also stopped posting videos completely on the Sketchek channel and is now doing something else. I won't really elaborate on what he's doing now (He's a contracted VTUBER), but he has apologized for his actions and acknowledged them in his new career. Of course I don't endorse faking your death in any way, but he explained that the reasoning he had done it was due to having a horrible familial situation. He's probably in a lot better place now mentally, so I'd like to think he understands that he's done bad.
TL;DR His channel was originally deleted but was brought back as an archive, he understands that what he did was inexcusable and he gave us a reason why he did them, and I don't think disabling comment sections was done because of anything related to the faking death situation. I don't endorse or support his actions but I understand why he did them now that context has been explained.

Soldier is slow and has to lead his shots most of the time, which means if you're playing against someone with a lot of spatial awareness you will never hit your shots with the rocket launcher directly unless you're willing to suicide for the kill
That being said the mobility options with rocket jumping make it a viable tool to counter act his movement speed.

I wouldn't say that's necessarily true, some things do get brought up every now and again, at least with the bigger content creators.
What does get brought up doesn't really have to be used with negative intention, such as mentioning PewDiePie's N-word bridge in the context of a meme.
Either way my point remains that certain things will not be forgotten and can always be used against someone. The internet simply is risky business and can make or break people within seconds.

Rocket jumping is great for getting across the battlefield and can be great for a quick sneak attack.
Soldier’s have the shotgun to counter airblasting. Or if they get a random crit on the first rocket.
