- The Pro Sim Rig PSR3 is the self-proclaimed 'middleweight king', and in some ways they're entitled to the claim, with a max-strength pedal tray and high quality finish everywhere else, and a lovely embroidered seat as the ultimate cherry on top.

I have this rig with the integrated monitor mount, the rig is rock solid, and the profile is more substantial than some of the more expensive competitors that have more hollow/light weight profile. Like most profile rigs, accessories from other brands fit without issue, I have several sim-lab accessories on mine. This pedal deck has zero flex and works best with pedals that can attach directly to profile.
Great review. Is crazy how much value having a couple of extra bolts and t nuts adds.
Agreed - being a tad more generous might save them the odd support ticket here and there if there's any missing, scrapped or defective.
So I’m going to get myself a sim rig this year. This one looks ok and in my budget. For now I’ll be playing on ps5/pro (when releases). Never tried any rig or steering wheel for that matter. Have couple of questions:
- Im thinking of 15nm that will last me for coming years when I possibly progress to PC sim games (hear that is enough for most mortals)
- will it particularly matter which brand I should go with and what type of wheel should I get, it will mainly be gt7 with bit of ea wrc and maybe f1
- for the seat i need most possible comfort - so I dont think I’ll be needing a bucket seat which I presume is only for show/immersion rather anything else
- how do I chose the right seat for me size and comfort wise
- what would be preferred screen for a sim rig powered by ps5 (flat/curved/big/small?)
thanks!
Nice review
Cheers man, always making strides with the production
Nice review Danny. It looks like it uses the same corner brackets as the GTOmegra prime, I don't know about yours, but the plastic caps on mine like to fall off with the slightest touch. Maybe a dab of silicon sealant on the inside to hold them on is on the cards........
My Prime's end caps were solid but my Trak Racer TR80 (my first ever profile rig) had very evasive end caps, maybe only a couple were like that in the pack but it was annoying to catch a foot on certain ends and have to put the end cap back on for the 20th time
I can confirm this is more than strong enough, Simagic Alpha Ultimate and Venym Atrax pedal owner here.
Good to have input from a 'true' customer using different kit
Nice rig. That should be more than enough strong. I think it can take the dd2 without fatigue and without you buying a rig with more aluminium. 🚗 Talk about the La Prima. And how it compares to the dd1, csl and Cs dd and the moza's. You got to!
Asetek La Prima video's comin' down the track
What type of setup to start with, if just wanting to try racing?
How to buy something that's good enough to get a fair taste, but not too wasteful if upgrading soon?
I wish rigs were in stores to try out paid by the hour.
Well, depending on your location, you might have a sim centre near you that will let you try a range of rigs before you buy, though you may have to pay a 'deposit' which you can then redeem back against a purchase
This better than a prime lite then or? Prime lite seems to be slightly longer but maybe has more flex?
The prime lite is considerably cheaper and has a shifter mount, but the PSR3's pedal tray is much better overall and the wheeldeck gives you more knee room. The Prime pedal tray can be added to the prime lite as an optional extra, but that'll cut the cost gap down. There's not much between them, really!
The psr3 is £420 and the prime lite is £399 with no seat or extras. So I think I shall go with the more knee room. Cheers
Does the seat go far enough back to fit someone who is 6ft 2?
Yep - the big benefit of a rig like this is you'll have loads of adjustment. I'm 6" 0 and there's bags of adjustment left
I bought this rig recently. I’m 6ft4 over 100kg and there’s enough space for me.
What size cushion did you go for?
GT Width, High Depth
Looks good, not a fan of their logo printed on the seat and mousepad though, looks cheap. Also, having no shifterplate but a cupholder is... Strange, but it's a nice idea
Oh, I go mental for some tactical embroidery. Keep me away from charity shops and old people's homes.
@@dannyleeracing well to each their own right? Good review anyway mate thanks
sparco prints their logos on their seats and not many bat an eye lid about that
@@jonneymendoza because the sparco logo at least looks good. This one just looks cheap
