    *Pro Tip:* For people that don't use the clutch pedal... If you don't like how the throttle pedal has zero resistance, you can use the clutch pedal as the throttle, instead. Additionally, if you don't want the longer 'throw' of the clutch pedal, you can swap the "rubbers" between those two pedals --- So now, you have a throttle pedal with shorter travel that has resistance that makes it easier to modulate the accelerator.👍
    EDIT: These pedals are also on Fanatec's Black Friday sale for 199.99 (normally 299.99) ...

    Review is spot on for the general idea I have of this pedal set, but I thought the ease of tuning and customizing the brake pedal over the V3 was underappreciated.
    You can change the brake bushings in line 1/10 of the time it'd take you to change the elastomers on the V3. And besides the time, with the V3 there's also the hassle.
    I was pretty much settled on buying the V3 until Fanatec released the CSL V2

    Man what a good review this was. I had one of these and upgraded to a higher end one, but still watched everything just because of how well and criticality thought this was. And just to add something, I upgraded to a much higher cost pedal just because while I had this one I went into the ‘your pedal has to be stiff’ theory and didn’t give the softest elastomers a proper go. Of course I won’t go back to using this, but if I could go back I’d never had upgraded and this pedal would be the last thing I’d upgrade in my gear list.

    I was deciding on my first load cell pedals earlier this year and considered at first the thrustmaster tlcm but a friend talked me out of them. Then I looked at the CSL pedals, shortly after that I watched a lot of reviews of these CSL elite v2 pedals and decided that was the right way to go.
    It is a complete game changer in my racing consistency and feel for the braking, it is worth every penny of those 300e. I run it with the blue spring and softest polymers just as they came from the factory, because I don't have any preference yet. I have it setup at about 40% and I mitigated the soft throttle spring by swapping clutch and gas pedals. I don't use the clutch much right now but I will in The near future as I just got my first H-pattern shifter. I may have to ti change the distance of gas to brake for better heel and toe. I might try harder polymers early next year.
    I am so happy I went for this set as every review still says they are a great entry into the segment and I am sure I will be happy with them for years to come.

      @@pewq4691Did you make the switch? I think Danny Lee has this one totally wrong, sure the clutch pedal is only "fine" but none of those fancy clutches amount to much with the bite point feel, if it isn't exactly in tune with the games bite point, what's the point? The gas pedal is good enough to give good throttle control but its all about the brake pedal. To quote other sim racers "Fanatec nailed it" I had a set of Clubsport V3's and the brake pedal on that even with the upgrade kit damper and uprated springs is well vague. I tried many pedals from all the big names up to around a £1,000, none of them are significantly better than the CSL Elite V2's brake pedal. What they do have is greater adjustment. That said if your pedal tray has tilt you should be ok. Had mine since a little after launch, truly an outstanding brake pedal paired with perfectly fine clutch and responsive throttle pedal. Nothing standard about them.

  • @alecmillea4539
    @alecmillea4539 Před 5 měsíci +1

    These were good pedals. One thing no one mentions is that pedals that are angled back this far really need to be used in a more upright driving position. If you try to use them in a low seating position you can by tilting the whole pedal set towards you however the problem no one mentions is that your heels then rest on a slope as opposed to a flat surface. Doesn’t seem like a big deal at first, however over the course of a race I found my heel would slide down the heel rest and result in me pushing lower on the face of the brake pedal than I was at first. That means less leverage and less brake force being applied and making me miss the corner from under braking. This happened so much I had to make a makeshift heel rest to stop my heel from sliding down all the time. I’ve seen others do similar things so I’m sure it’s not just a problem I experienced. If you want your pedals level with or higher than your seat base I’d say look elsewhere.

    Have had these pedals for some months now:
    For drifting, throttle is WAAAY to easy to press in. Im a tall guy And just the weight of my foot presses the throttle in. So I get tired in my legs keeping my feet at zero throttle. So any throttle control is very hard.
    Today I swapped the throttle and clutch pedals over and it’s a new world! I can live with a very soft clutch. But I expected more from Fanatec to be honest. Didn’t expect to have to modify it to get it drivable 😅

      @@KarimBoctorAwad Hey, same here. CSL Elite V2. I guess I didn't do enough researching. Travel distance is 0, without a rig there is no point in having them. I thought It was ok since it had different elastomers, but they are all even stiffer.
      And if you decrease your BRF to a lower value (like below 25%), it just means that now you brake on even smaller distance/pressure difference, so it's even harder to modulate.
      I've tried them on a rig, and I think I'll be able to get used to them, but I still really miss a little bit of travel. I'm looking into some softer elastomeres/springs. And most of the pedal cams of GT and rally cars I watched had quite a bit of travel, so I don't think you could say they are more realistic.
      So, no. I don't think you got a faulty set (unless we both got one) :)
