Thanks for watching. If reading is more your thing, we also have a written review available HERE: boostedmedia.net/sim-racing/hadware-reviews/fanatec/fanatec-csl-elite-v2-load-cell-pedals-detailed-review/
Thank you for your review. Would you say you prefer the Loadcell Brake to the Clubsport V3? Because I didnt like the feeling of the V3, even with the Performance Kit.
Yep I prefer it to the V3.
@@boostedmedia Hello
7 months later, which models do you think would have the same qualities as these pedals, while having a fairly close price??
Hi Will~ May I ask for a quick advice? Ignoring the price difference, how is this Fanatec CSL Elite V2 Pedals compare with Heusinkveld Hltimate (non-plus version)? Will you also go fo this CSL Elite V2? Thanks a lot!
I couldn’t/wouldn’t watch it BC of the Music was Awful..
Hey Will and everyone at boosted media. I’ve been watching your videos for a while and have finally decided to buy my first decent setup. All your videos, including this one, have really helped me decide what will suit my needs so this is just a small token of my appreciation (also used the affiliate links 😉). Thanks and keep up the great work.
How’re you finding it?
Damn bro got ignored das crazy
The calibration tutorial was extremely helpful! Thanks
I was really happy with my original CSL Elite Load Cell pedals; when I experienced the inconsistency in the load cell based on where you press I felt so unhappy with the purchase, but I decided to just live with it, and I managed to get used to it and used them for years.
These new pedals address the biggest issues, and with hall sensors too? Brilliant V2!
Thanks for the review Will, you’re the best!
I don't even need pedals, but you videos are so detailed and organized I still watch them in completion just to learn.
Thank you for the detailed review! Love these price/performance sweet spot products
Just wanted to take a minute to say that your content is amazing!!! I love your videos they are super enjoyable to watch. Stay good!!
So much practical details around the pedals and how to configure them. 👌
I'm considering new pedals, you've helped me make my mind up on what to go for. Thanks.
I'm here to say thank you for the knowledge you share. I'm about to drop a lot of money on a Fanatec setup and you're helping me make informed decisions about the gear i buy. Happily subscribed!
Thanks for taking the time to comment :) Enjoy the new setup!
In auto calibrate mode you can set a dead zone. Just hold the pedal where you want the dead zone to end then power up the pedals. I hold about a 1/4 on the brakes then power up the wheel base (pedals plugged to base) to give a small initial dead zone on the brakes. Since I tend to rest my foot on the brake I need that small cushion area.
Another solid review! Thanks, Will
Great Review Will, you are just the best! Made it easy & good to understand the difference between my V3s & Elite V2s! But have to say now i really want to try out that brake feel in the Elite V2s 😅😅
Very comprehensive review. You've convinced me to grab these...haha. Final upgrade for my rig. For at least the next few years I hope!
As always very informative
Glad i watched the whole video, was about to buy the fancy looking v3's but you made up my mind ✌🏼😅 tuning point when it clicked for me was when you said it is a nightmare to adjust anything on the v3's.
Thank you Will, these ones are gonna be it. Replacing my year old T3PA's.
LFM in ACC is too much fun already. I hope this will improve the times and experience. :D
Thank you very much and greetings from the Czech Republic. It helped me decide to buy them :)
Thanks for the informative video!
Fantastic preview thank you
Amazing review mate you nailed it
i picked these pedals up. I wanted the V3 but i got a good deal on these elte CSL pedals. thanks for the review!
I just ordered these. I've been using the CSL pedals with the Load Cell brake. I was thinking of getting the V3 but I read somewhere that many prefer the V2. Thanks for the informative video!
Great video as aways. I loved my old csl v1's and it looks like fanatec has made all the right improvements. It would be nice to see them bring out a kit to upgrade the V1 but I imagine that will come in time.
I'd love the HALL sensor upgrade for my V1
@@MrDenzo1 you can them from a 3rd party but now fanatec do them on the v2 they might even sell them separately. Might be worth and ask to fanatec support
@@driftboiz you got a link for the 3rd party
@@MrDenzo1 I'd love to tell you where I bought mine, but unfortunately links don't seem to be allowed in the comments.
@@MrDenzo1 Yeah. Maybe they will offer them as an upgrade when the pots on the V1 die.
getting mine tommorow...cant wait!
Will, your reviews are the best. You let us know every detail about the product, up and downsides, simply the best reviews. Thanks for the love and effort you put into those videos!
Even when the CSLElite are maybe slight of a downgrade from Clubsport v3 i am considering selling my v3 to buy elite v2s. I am just driving formula cars and the option to go from 3 to 2 pedals on the elites is just perfect for me.
Thanks mate. I honestly don’t consider these a downgrade from the V3s. At least not in terms of the key fundamentals to driving quickly and consistently. They may not look as flash, and the clutch isn’t as good, but I’d honestly sooner put these on my rig than V3s.
Hey, did you end up buying them?
@@boostedmediathey are 200 Euros/USD know.
Thanks for such a detailed and amazing review as always! Any chance you could review the new Venym Atrax pedals?
Thanks so much for this review! I have the v1 pedals and the potentiometer has been so frustrating, the plastic teeth being worn away and resulting in poor inputs/random spiking was so disappointing. Buying a replacement is almost £40 - just for the potentiometer. I ended up boxing away my rig as I didn't want to downgrade to a different pedal set of lesser quality - like plastic pedals, but I also couldn't justify an expensive upgrade due to my investment in three sperate wheel rims and the compatibility with the elite wheelbase. But the V2 pedals using magnets like high-quality flight sticks is a game changer for me. That one change alone is worth this product. It's just such a shame this wasn't implemented in the original design.
I switched to hall sensors on my V1 elites for £20something each from someone on Etsy I think it was. Plus different elastomers and small spacers to improve sideward play in the pedal arms.
I agree the V2s seem a good step up but if you want to get your rig set back up without spending ££s on all new pedals, I can more than recommend these small upgrades in the meantime.
I've been waiting for this review hell it was only hours ago I found about this pedal set. Our boy Will here already on it. Haha that was quick.
We had the video ready for the product announcement, but the review embargo was extended to after the launch. 😂
Good stuff Will. Can’t wait to see what’s next. R21 v Simucube Pro. 🙏🏾
I get the feeling I'll be wishing these were around a bit over a year ago when I bought my CS V3's.
One, maybe one of the most important things in these, compared to CSW's, is that you can move/adjust these sideways. So if ie your knee hurts when loadcell brake force you to press it in bad angle, with these(as in v1 which I've had years and still have) you can move brake pedal more to the left, away from throttle. Some ppl complained that you cannot adjust pedal footplate angle, thats not problem if your rig allow you to put pedal set mounting plate more upwards, as I've done in my Simetik V2.
Yep agreed. This was mentioned in the video
I was planning on the Clubsport v3`s but after this video i want the csl V2`s more. Tanks
Had the previous version and loved them but them v2s are on point! The new loadcell is fantastic in every aspect and the fact that they now use hall effect sensors made this pedal set a 10/10 . I think with that on the market its not necessary to buy overpriced high end pedals
Thank you you solved my question
I'm sold. My Protosimtech's work fine, but have become too stiff for my left hamstring. I had older CSL LC pedals and gave them to a friend. Thanks buddy.
I have plans to upgrade my T-LCM and now I can't decide to buy these or the V3s. :D Nice review Will!
Before you buy either, check out our review of the newly released Fanatec CSL Elite V2 pedals. They’re cheaper and I rate them over both these options you’ve listed - czcams.com/video/4beiBvFOeB4/video.html
Wouldn't mind seeing these different elastomers/spring kits come out as a stand alone mod for the regular CSLs.
So I need a new sensor I’m having the issues he is referring to with dust I believe, so I have to buy a whole pedal set he didn’t say anything about upgrade the V1
Definitely, I order some springs off ebay for my csl loadcell. Hopefully that will create a threshold like these new v2s. But watching Wills great videos always makes me want to upgrade, unfortunately my bank says not lol.
@@randyschweitzer8648 if you're getting the jumping round issue when you press the pedals. I had that and fanatec will sell you new sensors if you contact fanatec support. However I gave mine a little squirt with WD40 and they were like new again. Might be worth a try.
@@driftboiz that’s exactly what is happening
It's a completely different load cell style so it'll never happen unfortunately.
Love the: from "fanatic" part ;D
Sir I really like what you are doing, every video is very very detailed. Will you make a video about imsim talento pedals sir?
Great review Will, pretty Impressive looking pedals. I can’t help but wonder, where the hell is the Clubsport DD?
Surely the Clubsport lineup is due a refresh?
I modded the Thrustmaster t-lcm pedals so they are functionally the same. I put 3 elastometers which look identical to this ones, but i think they are softer, made from a stiff rubber which flexes if pressed with enough force. Then on top i put the RED SPRING which is included with the pedals. The spring is almost twice longer than that of those fanatec pedals. The loadcell is up to 100kg. When i fully compress the spring i feel the threshold, it somewhat well defined, it reaches about 80% of full force that the sensor is capable of. I set that to be 95% braking in the tm software, that works i guess as a cheaper alternative to fanatec pedals. You also can tune it however you want with elastometers of different sizes, types and various spring. I thing it feels the same as the pedals in the video. After all, the skill is the most important part
Thanks for the review wondering if my CSL's would be worth trying different elastomers or go this way. but having said that I have read some very good feed back on VX-PRO (SIMGRADE) pedals they look very interesting but a bit more expensive.
Great review, as usual, but for me -- a TLCM user - the real value in this video is Will's explanation of how to calibrate load cell pedals. Would be a great topic for a short standalone video.
I would like to know Will's opinion about whether the V2's are suitable for heel-and-toe driving. The non-adjustable pedal pads make me think not, but given pedals' strong points I'd love to find out I'm wrong about that.
Thanks mate. I’m not a super experienced heel toe driver but I didn’t have any issues with it.
I have the CSL Elite V1 with load cell and have thought about the Club Sport V3 as an upgrade. So does the CSL Elite V2 make those irrelevant in your opinion?
Very good in-depth review. What did you put in you V3 pedals brake kit wise. I have seen some ditch the foam but from the tuning kit and cutting a smaller green spring.
These pedals actually look better than my club sports brake wise.
New subscriber 👍
Welcome!
I ran the 13mm red and green with the PU foam before upgrading to HE Ultimates.
hi will. bought these based on your review(was a great video, thank you) and they arrived today.
just wanted to ask if it's intentional that the clutch is significantly firmer than the throttle? I'm not sure what pedals are supposed to feel like as these are my first set.
I can easily fully depress the throttle with my pinky, where as the clutch needs my thumb to make it feel that easy.
edit: nvm, answered my own question when I flipped them over and saw the two springs were different.
@boostedmedia hey boosted media team. Just wanted to say thank you on the recommendation and the great review video on these pedals. I got the V2 pedals for Christmas. Today has been my first time using them. I've just been doing laps around the nurburgring in ACC. All I can say is wow. I am already 3 seconds faster on my previous pb with the standard 2 pedal CSLs in just 16 laps! I am much more consistent and enjoy playing even more. For anyone curious about these pedals, I would do it! They are great. I was looking at going with my first load cell, and I was between these and P1000s and I decided to save money with the black Friday sale on the V2s and they're great!
Anyone know if you can just throw a spring in the V1s to replace the sponge? I've actually been operating with no sponge or spring for a while but wonder if this is something I can change.
I've got just the CSL loadcell pedals..do you think this would be considered enough of an upgrade, are they miles better then just the CSL loadcell or would I have to go V3's to see a real diff?
FINALLY. I bought the v1 csl elite pedals with load cell and that damn foam piece is a massive pain in the ass.
Currently own a modded pair of CSL LC pedals, but the brake is too hard in my opinion (already modded) and they are noisy too.
Is an upgrade to the CSL Elite v2 worth it in terms of the brake "feel"? And is the noise nearly zero, so no noise from the pedals?
Thank you for this review, I have now purchased a set. Coming from Thrustmaster T3PA Pro with extremely inconsistent BBJ brake mods, I can’t wait!
Thanks again, Will 😃
At 16:15 you put that last piece on there... I don't have that piece and it doesn't mention that piece in the quick start guide or manual. I feel that this piece is missing because I am already somehow messing up my brake pedal. The metal shaft thing is rubbing on the metal hole it goes into. How the heck do I get another one of these? I don't see it listed on Fanatec's site... and I wonder why I doesn't show up in the manual as part of the kit.
After this review, and the price drop on black friday, it was a easy choose for me to go with the v2, only 200€, this is value for money
Old Video but maybe someone is a noob like me! These are on sale right now for 199.99. Seems like a great deal to me.
Hi Will great review as always - would you recommend these instead of the Asetek Forte?
damn it , your vids are too good, bought CS v2.5 wheel the other day on BF, now 4am wokeup and got these.. from csl elite v1 basic to these. planning to get new PS DD soonish, got the new wheel , these and next base with QR2 (for 2 wheels).
Thanks for the review. Just used your affiliate link and bought a set. I bought a GT DD Pro 8nm a few months ago and was using them with my old CSR Elite load cell brake pedal set that I used to use with my old CSR Xbox wheel (toy-like belt driven). Then last week I ungraded to the load cell on the CSL pedals that came with GT DD Pro and installed those into my rig.
I think I like the old CSR Elite load cell brake better but it was getting old and wasn't very smooth no matter what I did. New load cell but it was the mechanical stuff making it less than smooth. Now with the CSL load cell it is much smoother but trying to apply say.. 10% brake and hold it there is very difficult. You need to press the brake pedal pretty hard for it to register, then it seems to wants to go up to at least 50%. Hard to explain but pedal seems too stiff, like you're pressing on a rock, not a brake pedal. CSR Elite had more progression, it felt more like a brake pedal to me. I had to reinforce my cockpit for the CSL load cell though, it took a lot more pressure to get full braking after being adjusted to suit my taste.
I hope these feel a lot better than the CSL load cell. Maybe I could get used to the CSL brake but I don't think I could ever be very consistent with them, at least trying to trail brake or hold a lower pressure for any amount of time. I'm sure I could mod the CSL load cell brake elastomers and get it feeling better, but might as well just get something that works better out of the box.
So now my rig with have Elite V2 pedals, GT DD Pro 8nm, and a ClubSport Handbrake V1.5! Should be pretty sweet. I'd get the shifter but I never ended up using a manual shifter much even though it's fun to mess around with on appropriate cars. I kind of wish I just bought these instead of the load cell for the CSL pedals.
Thanks for the support. Let us know how you like them once you’ve had some time to adapt :)
@@boostedmedia 👍
Thanks for the review. Hoping you get a review out for the VRS pedals before my name gets called out from the wait list haha after all my research I’ve almost decided on them, but these do look interesting. I’m assuming VRS are a notch above and on another level and I am after a high end set, but value for money seems decent here.
Glad to hear I'm not the only one who is still waiting for reviews from boosted media/sim racing garage. I'm kind of stuck between sprints and vrs tbh.
100% get the VRS guys. Thats a different level altogether. With all due respect, these things are toys compared to them. Have had CSL Elite before going to VRS myself.
@@Huseynelli that’s what I was thinking, but wanted to cover all my bases. I have done A-LOT of research and everyone loves them. There is direct distribution in Aus too so the postage is nothing and they actually work out cheaper than the Sprints for me and everyone compares them to the Ultimates.
@@argmarius I know what you mean I’ve been waiting for those two reviews too. I was between the Sprints and VRS too, but after a bit of research and joining some Discord channels, i struggled to find someone who preferred the Sprints over the VRS. I had pretty much made up my mind on the VRS and just waiting on my call out! Would love to see these two reviews first though. Gee I’ve come a long way from my g29 and wheel stand in the span of 5 months haha
@@rover1374 I'm in the same boat, kinda made my mind on VRS like 99% but I need wife's approval lol
did i understand that right, i could use these pedals with my T300RS?
i currently have the TLCM Pedals and they also plug right into my pc since they don't work when i plug them into the wheelbase
Does the brake wiggle back and forth like the old ones do? Kinda annoying on the v1 where the throttle and clutch and extremely solid, but the load cell is kinda loose sideways
Wheel stand with wheel cradle? I'm using a Next Level Racing Wheel Stand 2.0 that includes a cradle for the wheels of a chair to help keep the chair somewhat stable relative the pedals. I've found the CSL Load Cell to not be usable because of the firm pedal. Do you think these will work well with a wheel stand 2.0. or should I just give up on using a load cell brake with the wheel stand. Thanks for the thorough review!
Another awesome review will!
Do you think the benefit of these brakes outweigh the benefit of the Logitech pro trueforce? Trying to figure out if I go the Logitech pro or a fanatec CSL setup
I´ve got the v3 Pedals with the brake perfomance kit, are the CSL Elite Pedals V2 better? Which one is better?
I'm super excited for these pedals. My main focus is drifting though so modulating the throttle is a big deal in my consideration of what pedals to buy. I wonder how the throttle on these feels like compared to to something like the v3 pedals with a dampener kit on the throttle instead of brake pedal.
Could you please share your experience of dumper kit on throttle I'm thinking to get 1 because throttle in v3s for me feels more like switch unfortunately
@@BorbaPower I actually don't have experience with it but if you look at simracing garage on youtube he has a review where he explains that because the loadcell on the v3 you don't actually get much out of the damper on the break (because of a small amount of travel before you are pushing on the load cell) so he says that you get a lot more out of installing it on the gas pedal.
Great video Will, that's what i was looking for.
I wanted to ask you, in the video of your foot on the accelerator pedal, it seems to me that when you are full gas only use toes of your fet, and it seems uncomfortable. Ierr?
Hi Will , I have a problem with a set of fanatec v3 pedals they are plugged into a DD Pro on a ps5 I have to plug them into my pc every time I want to use them but when I turn of the ps5 and come back to play again they will not work back to laptop how do I fix this problem help
Could you let us know how is the thottle travel? My issue with V3's was that the throttle travel was too long so i modified it and made it quite a lot shorter. As i see in your video you can not adjust it here, so is it too long? On V3's me heal actually lifted while i tried to floor it.
So these are the new go to pedals ? I am still using the first Clubsport v1 with load cell. However I don’t get any consistency. So would this be a hoor upgrade ?
I wonder if we will finaly see a podium set of pedals with these being so closely priced to the clubsport v3s
I think that's probably Fanatec's plan. That, or a new Clubsport V4 with similar price bump. Their range is kind of all over the place at the moment. Incomplete Clubsport and Podium lines (no CSW DD and no Podium pedals) have left niches in the market for Fanatec's competitors.
I have had the fanatec v3 pedals but they broke down and went to asetek invicta's but dont realley like them. Is it worth selling them and buiing these ones or are the heusinkveld ultimate+ much better?
Should i change the clutch to gas pedal for f1 or will it be unrealistically heavy ?
When purchasing via your link in Australia, are they shipped from Aus or from overseas?
My csl elite v1’s only lasted me a few months. Blew out some of the elastomer brake squishy things and my accelerator stopped working after a week or two and then using the clutch as an accelerator, the spring snapped. I really tried to look after them, too. Not happy…
Is it possible to mount these pedals to the Wheel stand Pro? Looking to change out my G27 setup and would like to continue to use the wheel stand pro.
I will buy these pedals one day; they look so cool
no option to buy just the loadcell? im stuck with a csl elite gas and brake and cant find a way to get a clutch without buying v2
I’m stuck between the elites and the ClubSport inverted. The inverted layout is closer to the road based cars I’d drive on track and (maybe) would let me get better at heel/toe irl?
So I sold my inverted V3 a year ago. And I just purchased these but I'm waiting for them to come in. Did I make the correct decision or should I cancel n get the v3 again.
Know you mentioned the vibration feedback wasn't missed that much. Currently I like how the Xbox controller has that feature but am torn on how important or emersive that would be for a pedal setup, anyone have any further advice or suggestions?
You can take out the foam insert in the CSL V1 and replace it with a polymer insert. This will give a similar feel to the V2.
I always found it felt too linear using one of the polymer inserts. But I never tried any aftermarket options. Nothing a basic metal spring couldn’t fix in terms of the feel of the stack though.
@@boostedmedia I went with soft then hard polymers...it gives the initial bit of give and then provides feel for the threshold. My pedal feels exactly how you described your V2 pedal, but I am only going by description.
Curious that Will doesn't mention the elastomer kit included with the V1 ?
Removed that soft sponge day 1
Great review (as always guys)! You touched on it briefly, but interested on your take for someone who has the CSL pedals without the loadcell and wanted to upgrade by either buying the loadcell or going and purchasing these Elite V2’s?
This load cell is far better than the old one.
Awesome, thanks for the quick response!
Good review and seems like quite nice pedals!
Although to me they have one annoying limitation in that they dont have any adjustability with pedal angle ("height") at all.
I cant be the only one that want to have the brake pedal sit higher than the throttle so the pedals are at a similar height when actually braking, making it easier to heel and toe...
And with the way the pedal faces seems integrated to the "stem" itself, you cant really mod this afterwards either AFAIK :(
Now the brake travel isnt huge, so this perhaps isn't a dealbreaker, but I do miss having that flexibility.
Hi will in your opinion what would be the next wheel upgrade from the Fanatec McLaren GT3 V2 as I have just got the CSL V2 pedals.
I used to run the old CSL Elite LC pedals.
While some issues of the old design were solved (Hall sensors instead of potentiometers, loadcell on the rod and not under the pedal plate), the most annoying thing I had about the pedals is still there.
That is the lack of adjusting on how the pedal faces line up. Even with a stiff brake pedal I regularly hit the side of the throttle plate while doing heel and toe on downshifting.
Also, I always hated the lack of throw adjustments on the throttle. For me it was always too long.
My solution was to zip-tie the throttle down so it couldn't come back to it's default resting position to have a shorter throw and a good throttle position for heel and toe.
Hi Will, Would you recommend Fanatec V2 pedals over Heusinkveld Sim Pedals Sprint?
Hi, can you please tell me what rig is that ? I am looking for something pretty sturdy but I don't have a lot of space for a big one. That one looks good for me but I can't see the name since the camera is not focusing on it xD. That would be much appreciated. Thanks
Hey! Will these mount to the exact same spot as the regular CSL pedals?
I 'had' to buy CSP v3s because my CSL Elite v1s went out on me about 6 months ago. I loved those v1 pedals and the CSP v3s are my daily drivers, should I buy these you think?
Thank you!
Hall sensors are certainly much cheaper than a quality potentiometer😳😎
Well I’m certainly confused with the CSL product line up lol. Why would you not spend $50 more (in our region) for the ClubSport pedals at this point. Maybe it’ll make more sense when they inevitably release Podium pedals. I thought they made the CSL pedals to do away with this design, yet here we are.
Hey mate, you have some tracks on the wall behind you; but there appears to be a glaring omission ==> no mount panorama / Bathurst 😉😉
Hi can You arrange thirt part csl load cell elastomers and compere it whit elite v2?
I hope Fanatec make an upgrade kit that we could use with the current pedals
Just picked these up. Attempting to change the pedal position and the bolts out of the factory have been put on so incredibly tight it's almost impossible. Took well over an hour to remove 5/6 bolts attaching the heel plate and the last one I suspect has stripped as it's now loose on both sides but I can't for the life of me get the bolt loose from the nut. Seems like loads of people have problems with this reading reddit/forums. I'm not even sure what to do with mine as it won't even tighten back up now either.
Thanks!
Thanks very much for the support :)
Is the gas pedal now a bit stiffer as well? It was always too soft.
Hey Will great review. I'm looking to get my first LC pedal set along with my first direct drive wheelbase. The Simagic P2000's pedals have caught my eye and hear a lot of good thing about them. Now since these Elite V2's have been released and have been getting rave reviews I'm not sure on what to purchase Do I save some $$ and get the V2's and possibly upgrading to something else in the future or do I spend extra $$ and get the p2000's which will be my forever pedal. What would you recommend ? Cheers !!
no leak ......
So I’m actually going to upgrade this Friday, going to get these peddles and going between the simagic mini , or the CSL DD 8NM
Will if you could help me with the wheel base I would really appreciate it
