  • Here's my beginners guide on using Jo Sonja Iridescent paints on a rim of a wood turned bowl / platter.
Love using these paints which are very different to using normal paints.
Bit of a different type of video for me so maybe grab a coffee and join me rambling on!
Enjoy and remember to subscribe, comment and give me the thumbs up, its always appreciated :)

Thank you Phil. That bowl is stunning. So stunning in fact that, after seeing it, my wife has demanded that I purchase some Robert Sorby tools and upgrade my lathe to start making her one. Keep those videos coming mate, I've got a workshop to kit out.

Lovely bowl. I've not tried this technique yet although I've coloured a few pieces. I use the Daler Rowney Interference Paint which gives a similar effect,

I just got some of the Jo Sonja iridescent paints. Your video will be a big help. Did you have to use the white, since you sprayed it black to start? Or does it make the other paints pop more when done. Thanks.

Hi Joseph, the black really helps the colours stand out and i used the white just to give it a little contrast. Maybe get away without using the white but I’d always paint on a dark background with these paints

Very nice. I like the white accents. What kind of white paint did you use?

@@PhilScarlett , thanks, I think the white adds a lot to it.

Nice effect on the bowl. Sorry to say that you have a tendency to drop your voice and talk fast so it can be a bit of a mumble at times. Even the auto captions cannot discern what you say.

Fair enough it’s just my voice though, can’t really do much about it, just good old midlander English
