    Since I started making these videos in 2017, I have been lucky enough to receive the support of some manufacturers with materials to use in my videos. Since May 2018, Chestnut Products have provided me with stains, an iridescent paints sample set, lacquers and waxes. I'd like to thank them for their kind and generous support. Martin Saban-Smith has provided me with a sample set of Intrinisic Colours.
    All other products and tools, unless where indicated, have been bought from suppliers at retail prices. Products mentioned in my videos are for information purposes so that viewers know what I have used.

    Saved by the black paint at the end. Actually turned out quite handsome. I think you need to experiment with other base colors. The white may make the colors pop, but if uncovered it didn't look so good. Like others, I thought the way the texture ended in the bowl was fine. You could have done the same with the rim, as well.
    Thanks for making us all a new video, we do appreciate that very much.

    Playtime!🤣 Nothing like messing around with new ingredients. Agree, less white probably good, but black was a good add. I like the texture running with the grain, too. Got my hands on colorshift flakes this last week and did some tests using Emma Cook’s techniques. Turned out great. Now just to find some time to turn suitable surfaces for the flakes. Went to the Oregon Symposium this weekend and bought even more stuff to play with. And good news: The AAW national symposium is going to be in Portland, Oregon next year! (2024). If you demo, I can be your assigned assistant! Portland is just a 4 to 5 hour drive south of me.

      Haha....yep, playing is fun! Oregon would be amazing!!! Who knows what will happen in the future....I guess a 4 to 5 hour drive isn't much out of the ordinary for you....have fun with the flakes...I haven't played with mine yet.....or my eccentric chuck.......

    Hey Stewart. At some point someone will come up with the idea of turning in zero gravity in the European Space Station ESA. You should be the first to do so, and you already have the right equipment. You also have to tell your neighbors and your wife that you now have some space turning equipment and test it out here on earth before you go upstairs, otherwise they'll be scared to death when they see you. Well, for absolute safety, safety shoes with steel toecaps are still missing. Remember, a wooden chip weighing a ton could fall on your foot. Well, sarcasm aside, for years I resisted wearing a helmet while biking, only now, with the brisk ebike, can I get over it. Safety comes first. I also had the paints by Jo Sonja, but they were too expensive for me, there are cheaper alternatives. And manpa? Arbortech things are expensive, but Manpa tops that by a lot, that's outrageous. Seeing your nice bowl made me crave gummy bears, weird, isn't it? Greetings from Northern Germany

    • @stewartfurini
      @stewartfurini  Před rokem

      Thanks, Schorschi! Glad you liked this one and I'd be up for some zero-gravity turning for sure! I do wear steel toe caps: www.roadking.co.uk/clacks/routier-heavy-duty-clacks-black.html They are slip on shoes so super easy to put on and off! I'll be demoing in Austria in May but maybe too far for you?

    You have done it again, made a mess, no that is a bit too strong a description more of a muddy coloring and then transformed it into something very nice as usual. A little bit of demarcation with a gouge here and there plus the proposed satin finish and you can start preparing a new video. By the way how many more days before retirement?
