I used to love my collection of his most early solo songs after The Rhythm Boys, then I had to share my music and enthusiasm and loaned/lent it to a "friend" never to see either again. I haven't lost that gleeful memory of hearing songs that were done later by musicians like Jerry Lee Lewis etc., in my own time.
Huh. Didn't realize this was a real song, not just something from Men in Tights. Guess I should have figured, given Puttin' on the Ritz in Young Frankenstein!
What a treat! I've always liked Bing's lightly-Latin 1976 studio version of the song - but this is simply masterful! Wish the estate would put out a few more CDs of the radio show performances featuring material of this quality. Thanks so much for posting!
Even if I'm from France, Men in tights brought me here also ;) I've known a bit of Mr Crosby, but this one flewed far far away from my ears, ... such a shame, I wish to discover and find more old time vinyl from this era. cheers to all Metal Lovers :p (I'm one of them, it doesn't empeach me from loving other tunes) Cheers to all!!
Robin Hood Men In Tights brought me here.
Me too
Mark Brown me too
There's no sword in this version.
B flat~

so good. Not as good as Loxley but still...
Umm just a quick note Cary elwes didn't sing in men in tights
Arthur Rubin (authentic voice in Men in Tights) did put a little more emotion into it.

Sometime check out Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys, one of the inventors of the touring band. Good western swing
Wow, really? This sounds so similar to 'High Anxiety', I thought it must have been pure Brooks. lol
Vocês gozam os velhos sabem que é verdade hoje é tudo muito diferente vamos lá deixem se de história.
Mario Lanza has a little more depth and volume and range for this song
