We sang along with the oohs, applauded, swayed and ahh’d with the Merry Men during this scene. We annoyed everyone and the teacher but we didn’t care because we were having fun. This was our end-of-the-year movie to watch in class and we were in a dead heat tie between this and School of Rock. My friend wasn’t in class that day and I said he would be the deciding vote and I knew he was going to vote for this. Best day of high school ever!

Thanks for posting. Just what I needed for a Friday afternoon laugh. This moment from the movie suddenly popped into my head and I had to hear the song again!

Lmao. I like how they are walking by and just stop to become the chorus. It’s very hilarious. Also the shadow play for comedy bit is also a nice touch too XD

You're right - it IS in E then modulates to F. I think he was just asking for a Bb since that's the first note he sings.

It’s not the first note he sings. There is no B-flat in the key of E major. Drives me crazy!

Mario Lanza will never be the same again. ( He sang the song ) Brilliant movie.

Although Mario Lanza sang this beautifully, I rather think it was Arthur Rubin's vocal that they used in the Men In Tights movie.

Another reference to a Mel Brooks film in the musical version of 'The Producers' (2005):
Robin Hood Men in Tights: "The night is young, and you're so beautiful.......F flat."
The Producers (2005): "Und that is not how you 'Haben Sie Gehört das Deutsche Band'! THIS is how you sing 'Haben Sie Gehört das Deutsch Band! B flat! 2-2 time! Modulate at the bridge!"

XD She was startled when he started singing...wonder if she was thinking "Oh, I didn't know you could sing!" or something.
Also, a few of the Merry Men were roasting marshmellows at :38. I never noticed that before. There are probably still lots of things I haven't noticed in this movie.
