    I had fatty liver disease for a several years due to me eating fast food on a daily basis, my doctor said my liver could be dead in 4-5 years if I didn’t do anything about it. I ended up dieting and exercising, doing intermittent fasting, and it reversed. I was so happy.

      Me too. I was drinking too. I had fatty liver, and got healthy after 3 months, then went back to bad habits. A few years later it was a lot worse than the first time. Last year I had to make a major life change, and I'm still not where I'd like to be. Ketosis, fasting, and exercise are challenging, especially with timing.

Because I think at least smoking is well know that causes diseases. I mean no disrespect, just trying to figure it out what make people click.

    Headaches are usually the result of dehydration, speaking for myself. So I drink a lot of water and take a short nap. Usually that does it for me.

      For someone who has migraines, more salt/sodium is important. Just drinking water would make the issue worse for them specifically. The first few times I had a migraine they were atypical, I thought I was having a stroke (numbness, inability to speak/use correct words). Possibly in my case a B vitamin deficiency, which I started supplementing after the third hospital visit (which included MRIs and CT scans, never showed any brain bleeds). BUT, I have had typical migraines since (headache, nausea, vomiting), and they occur around beginning of my period. I didn't make an effort to increase salt/sodium, but I started having gallbladder pain. So I began taking a gallbladder supplement and it has helped the gallbladder pain, as well as my monthly migraine has seemed to turn into a regular headache/neck pain. No nausea/vomiting. Dr. Eric Berg (I use his gallbladder supplement) has said that most headaches are caused by the gallbladder. So my experience would seem to match up with that.
      My statement about sodium for migraine sufferers comes from Angela Stanton's work.
      I'm not saying these things to be argumentative, but to share more info which may help people. They can choose what they want to try.

      Sometimes I get a bit impatient with Dr Sten Ekberg because I am totally carnivore and he is more moderate in his advice than I what I really think. Not anything particularly wrong with his points, and I give Dr Ekberg a lot of respect for both his factual knowledge, which I cannot fault, and his occasional rhetorical devices. This and his other videos have great production values: point form text of what he is saying so I can follow along, some diagrams and illustrations. This video presented "Body Burden" in such a clear way, I am going to share to my friends to see this video.
      In this particular video I felt he was a bit soft on alcohol and fructose. I think alcohol consumption should be as close to zero as possible. Not sure if he meant the occasional beer or whatever is ok, but that was my impression. Of course, the goal of this video was about medication, not fructose, not alcohol. He did mention them as "body burden" so anybody curious about alcohol and fructose effects on health can explore those.

    The other risk is oxidized oils. This has been researched in aquaculture. My partner studied the use of oxidised oils in feedstock for aquaculture at 1% and 5% concentrations. The livers of both were enlarged but the 5% group livers were 3 to 4 times larger and yellowish rather than reddish brown.
    Fermented fish oil eg river cobbler which is used in Thai green curry recipes is also a source of liver flakes killed around 28,000 a year in Thailand due to cancer of the liver. This has been replaced with anchovies in many supermarket ready meals. Last time I researched this it still affected around 3,000 per year in the states and UK.
    Avoid fermented fish and oxidized oils in particular get to know the smell of the oils you use.

    I wish they had known this with my childhood best friend's mom who died of liver failure. Her doctors could not explain why her liver was failing. But after seeing this video I'm thinking back, Friend's mom was a habitual Tylenol user. She had such terrible migraines that she took Tylenol and Aleve and Excedrin to treat the pain. And it wasn't like she was taking too much. She always took the proper dosage, and never on top of one another. But she still ended up dying at the age of 58 of acute liver failure.
    I wish more people knew this. I wish I had known this. It says on the bottle may cause liver failure but most people probably think excessive use or overdosing on it will cause liver failure. Most people probably think they are safe as long as they take the medicine properly. Tylenol should do a better job making this clear.

    I have had two seizures from stopping cold turkey . I wanted to make cookies for the holidays and eggnog, but now that is off the table. It has been three weeks, and I have slimmed down by ten pounds not eating sugars, wheats, and beverages.

      @tanyakilbane7636 - Try the Carnivore diet for 30 days in the New Year to break your sugar addiction. It's simple, you just eat meat/animal foods: beef, pork, seafood, lamb, butter & hard cheese. It's will cure you of your carb addiction & it provides tons of health benefits. You can reverse many diseases (diabetes, high blood pressure, arthritis, gout) by eliminating the plant foods that cause them, esp. carbs which all turn to sugar once you eat them. Look up Dr. Ken Berry, he's got tons of YT videos on how to follow the carnivore diet. If you start now, you won't miss the Xmas cookies. 😎 No carbs taste as good as being healthy feels.

    In a sense, I wasted 20 years of my life due to poor nutrition. It all started with hives (a certain disease), and then I felt very unwell. The poor well-being led to digestive issues, discomfort, and for half a day, I felt like I hadn't fully awakened ('sand in the eyes'). If I didn't get a good night's sleep, the symptoms would intensify. About three months ago, I started eating impeccably - no junk, no sugar, only natural foods (eggs, meat, carrots, onions, tomatoes, sauerkraut, nuts, etc.). The symptoms disappeared immediately. I still drink alcohol about once a week, around 5 beers, but nothing harms me as much as 'junk food. I forgot that it also affected my mental well-being... some anxieties, paranoia, etc. If someone wonders how life can be wasted by such things, it's like living as if you had a 'burned finger'... you're technically alive, but you constantly feel discomfort and keep giving up on things you would normally do. For me, it manifested, for example, in not being able to attend morning lectures normally... I wouldn't be able to handle it because I felt so unwell.

    Fructose is used by animals wanting to exploit autumn fruits to build fat for hibernation. This mechanism is common to most mammals including humans, except that we do not hibernate and have now worked out how to get fructose containing sugar all year round. Every spoonful of sugar is half fructose which cannot be burning in the body but HAS to be converted to FAT in the liver before is can be used. If you have ever wondered why low fat treats still make you fat- then this why.

    • @drekberg
      @drekberg  Před 5 měsíci +12

      Thank you @chazwyman8951. Exactly. And our doses of fructose are 10-20 fold higher than we could get from fruit. And that was seasonal.😄

      @@onearthonelegion The dose is the poison. You can drink just a little cyanide and just get light headed, and be 100% fine later. Sugar bombs and large drinks loaded with 100g of high fructose corn syrup.. that's getting pretty close to poison.

      @w1975b Před 5 měsíci +3

      @@onearthonelegion the difference between the two is that water is a requirement for life, while fructose is *not*. At the smallest amount of fructose, it will still cause glycation/damage. Just because it doesn't un-alive you at that small amount doesn't make it harmless.

I was diagnosed with NAFLD a little over 3 yrs ago and went NSNG and healed my liver and got rid of pre diabetes. I haven't taken acetaminophen in a little over 3 yrs and if I absolutely NEED pain medicine I only take 2 ibuprofen. I haven't ever been a drinker so I guess I have the going for me. They contain the immediate precursor to glutathione, gamma glutamylcysteine (Glyteine), which unlike glutathione and NAC supplements can increase the pools of glutathione in all your cells, including those in your liver and kidney. I got home from the hospital the same day as my gall bladder removal. I was sent home with hydrocodone for pain. I did not want to take so much hydrocodone because it causes constipation. So that evening and the next day, I rotated 3 meds, took every 2 hours: acetaminophen, fiorinal with codeine and the hydrocodone. The last 2 meds were not labeled that they had acetaminophen in them. The next evening after the surgery I felt so sick I went to the ER. I had almost overdosed on acetaminophen. That was in 2005. Since then Ive noticed the medical community, pharmacist & drug labels making a better effort to tell patients when acetaminophen is in the prescription drug.
