    #6 Van was already on the wrong side of the road as dashcam vehicle came round the bend. If van had tried to enter the junction on the correct side he'd have driven further round the corner and seen the oncoming vehicle. The look on his face, as though it wasn't entirely his fault is puzzling.

    • @andyalder7910

      @andyalder7910 judging by how quickly he stopped I beg to differ. And no, that's irrelevant to the van being on the wrong side of the road and the driver clearly didn't even bother coming to a stop before trying to go straight across. The cammers speed isnt relevant to this incident, it wasn't caused by speed

      @@The_Real_JN I single-stepped through the video and counted the hazard lines and gaps, it was nearer to 30 than 20 but the speed limit is really irrelevant, they didn't slow down for the blind bend.

    • @The_Real_JN
      @The_Real_JN Před 28 dny +5

      @andyalder7910 I never said the speed limit was irrelevant, I said the cammers speed was. Because it didn't define this. It could've been a cyclist, a motorcyclist, lorry or horse rider at the same point in the road and the van still would've cut them off because they didn't slow down or wait even though they were crossing a live lane

    • @fuzzluvver69

      @@andyalder7910 Nah, you're just making things up now to save embarrassing yourself further. You have no idea how fast they were going and are purely guessing, nothing more. It was 100% the van driver's fault. It really is that simple too.

    #6 Thank you for using my video. An update on the American police car: the insurance after 8 months of waiting, authorised the repairs. The car has now been repaired, and has also been resprayed, looking brand new again. The van driver was wearing flip flops which apparently is illegal, which I never knew. A police report was filed on the morning of the accident, but the police closed the case a week later. To my knowledge, the van driver was not fined or convicted of anything. He has however lost his NCB.

      It isn't illegal to drive in flip flops. Taken from the RAC website: "You can get behind the wheel of a vehicle barefoot or while wearing flip flops, provided you are able to operate the controls safely"

    In #10 those lane markings could be interpreted for the cammer to follow the silver VW in front rather than carrying on round the roundabout. It did seem quite unusual to be in a lane so far to the left to be carrying on round the roundabout past so many exits. I think the cammer should have been in the lane further to the right behind the SUV that they get tangled with. I don't think the road markings were particularly helpful (as is the case with more junctions these days it seems).

      The lights ahead are for a junction, the nearer lights has two parallel sets, one for the bus lane and one for the rest of the traffic and those alternate. The idea is to give the bus lane a guaranteed spot to get into the queue for the lights at the junction. Ironically the idea is to stop buses from having to force their way out.

The other car was ahead and alongside a space in front of the cammer until the cammer decided to accelerate and close the space, causing conflict, which delayed their journey by having a row with the other driver. It may also have looked fast on camera but I drive down that road 10 times every week to avoid climbing the hill on the A49. The width, length and softness of the suspension make it incredibly difficult to drive too fast on a small lane.
