In California, if this occurred with my client and there was hard evidence, then I would have him/her explain their actions and how/why it will never happen again. That’s really we can do when there’s irrefutable evidence of a violation. At least in CA, restraining orders and extensions of them aren’t automatic. The judge’s job is to be a human looking at the entire situation and determining if a restraining order is necessary.
