One day after we got off the bus her brothers were waiting at the bus stop and were like "this the dude?" My dad was a teacher until he recently retired. He always told me how schools are stripping teachers of their authority. They're not even allowed to raise their voices to students now. I think this is part of the problem. The younger generations face no real consequences for their behaviour and have no respect for their elders. The other problem is of course social media. These youngsters will do or say anything to get attention on the internet.

Until the teachers themselves end up abusing their authority, I wasn't even an asshole like these pricks here when I was in school but I wasn't the brightest either yet the teacher felt the need to humiliate me by beating me in front of the others to make an example just because I had the worst grades. I grew up pretty much traumatized socially, that I'm never going to be good enough in other people's eyes and this makes me insecure even to this day

I used to work in retail, and seen kids act like this in the store all the time. It was seriously hard to restrain myself in situations like this. Im so glad to not be working with any sort of customers anymore and feel for anyone having to do so. It just takes 1 slip up to lose your job, land in jail, and ruin your life.

The thing about being viciously bullied in your workplace by customers, is that you have to keep going back afterwards, again and again, never knowing if those bullies will come in again and target you again. I've been on the receiving end of harassment from a repeat customer and my workplace did not stand up for me, so I eventually had to quit and find another job. Watching your reactions to the prank videos is so cathartic to me. Thank you.

Sadly, I understand it perfectly; I’m a preschool teacher and this is the result of several decades of ‘gentle parenting.’ People have become so obsessed with protecting children’s self esteem that they go to EXTREMES to avoid giving children consequences of any kind. It’s so pervasive that even early childhood educators are following suit. The result is a legion of self-important, selfish, whiny, USELESS adults who volley between acting entitled and claiming victimization for the slightest pushback. Just deplorable. These people have no respect for other people because they have no self-respect. And collectively, we as a society, are just beginning to see the awful results.

I’m actually really glad you guys talked about this. At my old job I was known for being the “violent” old man( despite only being 21 at the time)simply because there would be young people around my age or younger who would come in and either pull this crap or just be disrespectful. I never tolerated it because if there’s one thing I respected from the older days, mfers knew respect because being disrespectful came with consequences and very painful ones at that. Like preach said, either from the people you disrespected or from your parents cause they taught you better. With social media being at a all time high and this whole babysitter age, young people don’t know the concept of not only trial and error but the fact of actions have consequences. Everyone wants to protect the fragile kids these days that they don’t learn that you do the wrong things or mess with the wrong people, you’re gonna pay for it. They think “fuck around and find out” is just a meme when that’s reality. When people say stress kills, they don’t just mean it could kill you, they also mean a very stressed person won’t think straight and that could mean someone is dying and it’s fucking hurts that people treat respect like a joke but that kids nowadays are basically digging their own graves without knowing it. It fucking breaks my heart cause what does that say for our future cause I’m 23, I don’t want to be in a world where this shit is common or even encouraged.

I worked retail for 18 years and had to deal with people all the time who pulled stuff like this or were endangering other shoppers with their playing around. The problem is that the worker will lose their job if they retaliate and these idiots unfortunately know that.

One problem these guys often overlook is the FAFO factor, it doesn't take very long before you come across that employee with so few fucks left in them that they would check a gas leak with a bic lighter. Those are the times we get a slight glimpse of justice.

i worked for a hardware store (retail) in highschool and part time in college... learned a lot, had a lot of good regular customers too. However still had to deal with crazy customers as well... Glubb states that the cycle, while having variability, usually lasts about 250 years before collapse. Guess how old the USA turns in 2026, only 3 years away 🥲. The book was written sometime in the 20th century as well so its not just some guy looking at recent trends and making some cheap doom and gloom predictions.
