as a kid growing up we played games, listened to music, and watched shows that you could say all promoted some sort of violence. But our parents and adults around us always instilled values in us to be able to differentiate entertainment from reality. I see a lot of kids out here with no moral compass, uncontrollable, looking up to and idolizing ENTERTAINERS. Spare the rod and spoil the child, all these things stem from home imo.

I’ve always tried to hold hope in my heart for the youth. As a black man in Europe, I’ve witnessed our culture emulating everything from the US. We’re systematically brainwashed and not strong/smart enough to break the mental chains. We’ve got to do better!

    • @zebnemma
      @zebnemma Před rokem

So you've noticed it too huh? As a Swedish person I have said many times the black and arab people in my country are emulating alot of what happens in the US for some strange reason... Like black people in Sweden claiming to be victims despite the fact that Sweden didn't really have slaves, the immigrants in this country came here of free will, nobody forced them or made them into slaves... They came here because they know we give them free housing, and free education to some degree... They still demand more and say they are victims. Tell me as a black man, does any of this make any sense to you? They say BLM all whites need to be replaced, they say openly stuff like "we are gonna have so many kids we are going to replace you"(meaning us Swedish people). They do all this in a country where they are guests... Imagine an European person going to another country and acting this way. We would not be given citicenship and would be sent home immediatly. But some lefty voters in my country still say stuff like "but we can't send them home, because their home country is a danger". Yeah well if they have the gall to come to my country and behave ungratefull at every turn they obviously don't fear being sent home that badly, especially when they say they want to turn Sweden into their home country... WTF. You fled and came here... But you want Sweden to be just like what you fled from? Makes sense?

You may not be responsible for your fans (or even the kind of people that just show up), but you do have to know them - and Kai certainly knows plenty about them now. Moving forward, if he pulls something like this again there’s no defending him. I really hope he’s smart enough to realize that the only reason anyone is taking his side is due to the uniqueness and unexpectedness of the situation. Just about every competent argument in defense of him hinges in some way on that. But as soon as he does it again, then it’s not unique and it’s not unexpected, and no one will be able to defend him. I really hope he doesn’t think he can get away with this again (since face it, the publicity has been HUGE), but I think he probably does.

      Edit
After revising your comment again I want to add this too:
One thing though is that there are varying depictions of black people in the media, some good and some bad. I doubt someone will ONLY see the negatives like this. It's fine to be disgusted and disappointed by this ( I am too) but full on hating a whole group is an extreme reaction. I've seen whites rioting like this because their team lost the superbowl. But I never saw anyone using it to say that to say they'd understand if people hated whites cause of it.
If someone hates black people cause of stuff like this, then there's probably already existing prejudice and a much lower threshold for hating blacks.
So no, I disagree with understanding their hatred. It's a pretty low bar and can be used to hate any group. If you show me shit like this and say it's why you hate blacks, I will show you stuff from your own race and do thesame.

Living in East Asia for a very long time has given me some insight in what the West is doing wrong when it comes to teenagers. We give teenagers way too much freedom, and much too little guidance and structures. Teenagers, especially boys, will be roudy, the will be violent, and they will lack emptathy for people around them. This is all due to extreme stimulance from hormones when going through puberty. In many places in East Asia, shools will in general keep teenagers in the school until much later in the evening, offering tons of after school clubs and activites. The idea is to not let teenagers roam around by themselves, but rather have structured activities that are at least loosely supervised by teachers and other adults. This works really well, and in countries like Japan you have almost no teenage violence at all.

Before I moved to LA I met too many people who did NOT fit that cultural stereotype and most of them left the environment they were in because they didn’t want anything to do with that stereotype. Then I moved to LA and every cultural stereotype I saw on TV I saw in real life. So it’s interesting to think if one creates the other. Social media also allows communication between people who would never meet except from a chat room where they could be mostly unknown. The groups form and all decide to stir things up under the cover of the crowd/chaos.

This is what happens when your community props up the worst among them as the figureheads and role models to follow or emulate. Stereotypes weren't randomly drawn from a deck of cards... The stereotypes of the black community were cultivated from shit exactly like this. When we gather, the guys end up being loud, obnoxious and violent. The girls being loud, obnoxious and living embodiments of lust.
And of course those among us who have an audience always encourage, participate in and promote this behaviour. It happens so often that it becomes a pattern. We can't keep playing the race card against people for simply noticing the pattern. Not even sure who Kai is but from that short clip in the food truck, he seems to be playing right into the stereotype of getting the group riled up to be obnoxious rather than showing any concern or making any effort to get the situation under control.
When Mr. Beast is giving back to his community, somehow he avoids having a crowd of people destroying public and private property and women climbing high up trying to shove random objects up their ass for attention. This is despite the fact that he can draw a much bigger crowd with more expensive incentives. He puts in the effort to actually organize events to ensure they are safe, respectful and civilized. Kai might not be responsible for the actions of others but he had a responsibility to have some measures in place to prevent this if he was planning on gathering a crowd that large.

I remember being a teen and even as a teen I would have still called this behavior embarrassing and would avoid anyone behaving like that... But black people get a pass to do this kinda shit just because they are black??! Get outta here! That's racist as fuck to even say something like that, to imply that black people are incapable of behaving themselves... That's true racism. Holding people accountable is not racist! And black people who defend other black peoples bad behavior are pretty much being racist towards themselves, but instead they always blame someone else like blaming white people for literally everything, even including all the problems they created by their own stupid actions. "I'm in jail for doing crime all the time, who can I blame for this other than myself??"

As someone from NY I can say this.....its not just black kids. It is inner city kids. Most of the things happening during this "event" usually happens during most parades in the city. The only difference from that and this is that there are more police around. The hoping on cars stealing riot behavior almost mirrors what goes during the Pride parade in NY.

Well most inner city kids of NYC are… black. And no I’ve lived in NYC for years and this type of shit does not happen at every parade or event. I don’t recall a riot happening at the Chinese or Mexican cultural parade. The last time a riot this big occurred was Floyd riots in 2020. This was not normal, don’t try to make excuses for it.

Imagine if it was the wrong dude, imagine he has nothing to lose, like, dude really lost it all, from family to job, to finances; and he loads his AR-15 with a drum mag, points it out his window and goes haam.

There is a a lot to unpack with this event:
    1. I think Kai genuinely cares about his fans and really tried to do something good for them. He just LARGELY miscalculated how many people would show up and how quickly this could’ve turned left (and unfortunately it did)
    2. I get Kai probably want to put his crew on, but when it comes to huge events like this ITS CRITICAL that he gets PROFESSIONALS so they can organize everything accordingly. It might take like a week or at least a couple days in planning just to ensure things go smoothly. But it’s better than having this chaos.
    3. I think Hassan is just talking nonsense lol. Idk half the time the guy speaks I just roll my eyes and sigh lmao.
    4. Kids today fr need proper guidance.

There is nothing to unpack. Cenat himself isn't guilty of anything... aside from being a trash human... but that isn't a crime.
He was charged so that everyone could avoid the real issue... black people en masse are morally bankrupt degenerate criminals... and that was on full display... but we can't have that discussion... so the kid gets rolled under the bus... nothing else to "unpack"

I think a small part of the problem is a lot of influencers don't fully understand that they cultivate a culture in their fan base with the way they speak, act, condemn, praise etc. I think their are a lot of content creators who have a fan base that aren't as likely to overstep their boundaries because the creator displays a level of respectfulness or put-togetherness that gets reciprocated by the viewers Energy Out = Energy received

A lot of these young adults do not know how to behave at all at their age and that is a shame. Until we actually address a lot of the ills in our community that promotes these rowdy and irresponsible behavior, it will keep occurring.
All of the teens responsible should be dealt with accordingly to set an example and not get a slap on the wrist. It is 2023 and people sometimes behave like they do not know the difference between right and wrong. Too many excuses.

I do have quite a few points and whether you agree or not is a whole different thing.
      1. Parents first of all must instill discipline in their wards and teach them what is right and wrong if they do not know any better. We should respect our parents and the elderly in society.
      2. Have respect for authority at all times and try to have our differences settled amicably even if certain actions seem unfair to you
      3. When you see your friend or a group of friends misbehaving, call them out and don't turn a blind eye or even worse join them
      4. Going about misbehaving and damaging property isn't "cool" like some young adults like to think it is. Inform your friends parents or at least someone in authority if they fail to listen to you
      5. Learn to think for yourself and do not follow the mob( the majority opinion/ action isn't always right)
      6. Behaving in a respectful and cultured way shouldn't be treated as a wrong within our social group
      7. If you have nothing better to do, do not go about causing harm and being a menace to society
      8. We should value the lives of our fellow brethren (and other people's property for that matter) and not try to use violence to settle disputes because violence perpetuates more violence
It takes a whole village to raise an individual and we should not reward bad behavior but harshly punish and shun against it. Being insolent and damaging property does not resolve issues. We should learn to be accountable to ourselves and the society in general if we want our communities to progress and be better.
Like the saying goes - charity begins at home - so it should start with all of us.
