My boyfriend's house was broken into 2 times when he was just 5 years old, he was extremely traumatized, couldn't fall asleep, couldn't be alone. He got help and recovered from it but still something he thinks about regularly. It is absolutely terrorizing for everyone involved, to have your privacy, your space invated, your safe place, you home violated, with the people you love inside, thinking what can I do? What if they hurt me? What if they kill me? This is trauma for life, not a prank.

I'm ex-Navy, a Submariner and we engaged in prank wars that lasted for YEARS ... but everyone knew each other and knew what they were in for, this is just criminal behavior for social media "clout" ... lock them up for real.
    .
Saw one "prankster" recently, in Australia I think, who had a brilliant plan to fake a mugging at an ATM. 3 bystanders jumped in and one of them pounded his face in. I believe the total bill was a broken nose, broken jaw and broken eye socket.
Another one poked and prodded one guy, falsely accused him of being a pedo, even prevented him from leaving the scene ... until the guy snapped and shot him. That one's father blamed everyone else for his own son's idiotic behavior.
Another one faked a knife attack and ended up getting killed ... famous last words? "It was just a prank bro.".
Another pair of genius' decided to bust the myth that a book could stop a bullet ... she fired the gun, he held the book in front of his chest ... he died and she went to prison.

I had this happen in college about 25 years ago. Drunk dude walked into our townhouse. Walked past us and headed up stairs. My roommates and I looked at each other and without a word all understood "I don't know that guy". 3 of us went for improvised weapons (we're sitting in the kitchen/dining room) and the 4th cautiously faced the guy saying, "who are you? Are you lost?" Dude sobered up quick and hurried back toward the door apologizing all the way.
That was 25 years ago when people were a bit more chill. Entering someone's home by mistake is one thing, but if you're coming in as a prank or with aggressive intent; you're 100% putting your life on the line. Violence is met with violence. Pranking...?
