Risa is a beauty and makeup youtuber and influencer who has endured a lifetime of comments made about her appearance. In this video she candidly speaks about her early childhood struggles as well as her decision to have plastic surgery at the age of 22. Risa also came to me to inquire about future plastic surgery; a lower facelift and a possible necklift along with revision rhinoplasty and an upper blepharoplasty for her hooded eyes. What eyeshadow palette do you have on? I’m looking for these exact perfect brown colors. You look stunning. Great video and it is quite sad how people put others down, it has lasting mental effects. But if you look at the people that put others down..they are very insecure and aren’t intelligent. 💛

I bet most of these people who leave such horrible comments have got a face like a bag of spanners and know it. People who are content with themselves really don’t feel the need to act like this to other people. I see comments too which just reek of immaturity and I think a lot of kids comment not understanding that adults read them thinking it’s other adults.

So what would you say if you felt someone wasn’t “aging well”? Aging is a gift. Aging healthy is a bigger gift. No longer caring if someone doesn’t think one is aging well based on appearance because one has realized that such superficial matters don’t matter much anymore is a superpower. I only wish Risa health and happiness through the years to come.

I kind of hate my oily skin and facial fat, but videos like these are encouraging because if my skin ends up looking as good as this woman’s in 25 years I’ll be thrilled!
Risa is beautiful isn’t she ! If you think her skin looks good at 50 go check out Melissa55. She is close to 70 ( I think she’s 68 now) and she has never had a facelift but she’s been using Retin A for 30 or 40 years and you can really tell because her skin is beautiful.
You will be glad you had oily skin when you get older. Oily skin prevents the fine lines and wrinkles! Dry skin wrinkles easily if not hydrated enough.
My skin was a grease pit from age 11 through my 50s. I HATED it. I stripped it with alcohol and anything else I could use. I envied girls with normal skin whose makeup lasted longer than 5 minutes and didn’t have shiny faces in every photo. Now? I’m grateful for it! I’m turning 69 and hardly have any wrinkles, and I even have to wear moisturizer. (I also live in a humid environment which is horrible for trying to wear makeup and having oily skin, but is a Godsend for older skin.). Those girls with normal skin now have wrinkles upon wrinkles upon wrinkles. I also stopped sun-worshipping in my 40s and started using sunscreen, and they didn’t. Their skin looks like a leather glove. I’ve also been using RetinA for several years.

They bully because they can get a reaction out of you, sadly. I know this from personal experience as a bullying survivor. I could personally never present myself publicly on an open forum like youtube, as people are so cruel with hiding behind their anonymity.
yes it's very hard but it helps to know they clearly aren't happy or doing "better" than you or they wouldn't be hateful but trying our best to keep a mental distance and not give these horrible people any of our energy or response will help us soooo much and they won't have anything to respond to im so sorry you've been bullied i was also bullied when i was 11-14 it was so depressing but luckily i've worked on my confidence but i also understand putting yourself in the spotlight naturally gets love and hate and it can not be worth it for everyone it's a big reason i've put off having my own channel :(

@risadoesmakeup is one of the kindest people I’ve met. When she was in MN she did my makeup for a big event. I was so stressed, 6 years prior I went through a life saving dramatic surgery for cancer that left me disabled. To go into a black tie event on crutches with other issues (yes I’m so lucky to be alive & I’m grateful!) but as a woman it’s tough-she was so happy and wanted me to be happy &confident . I will always be grateful for knowing her.
I don’t care who you were or what you looked like, most of us were bullied by someone when we were young. It’s sad that it has effected us so much. Yes, even into our 50’s. People are simply cruel, it shouldn’t surprise me but it really does. Risa, you looked beautiful in your younger years and you look stunning right now!

I have been subscribed to Risa's channel for a long time and really enjoyed this interview. I had no idea that she ever had a nose job nor ever thought twice about any of her features being "off". Seeing her talking and laughing makes her even more beautiful and relatable.
Exactly!!! When I watch her videos my focus is on her beautiful eyes and masterful makeup application, never really noticed the nose issue until she pointed it out herself!

Being tall and skinny to some is a compliment but to skinny people we want to be curvy and womanly. Being told you look prepubescent or like a little boy or girl isn’t a compliment

Oh girl for me being called curvy and womanly is the biggest insult I could ever receive being tall and skinny is the compliment but in the end of the day I got so much shit from people that I don’t even want the compliments I wish people could stop talking about my appearance even if it’s good please just stop saying to me
When I was a kid, I was the tallest amongst my friends for a while, and I hated every minute of it. It made me feel like I stuck out like a sore thumb. I was so happy when I stopped growing at 5'6". So personally, I would never want to be taller than I am unless I had a rocking modelesque body.

I’ve posted before on Risa’s channel about my nose. I had a rhino back in 2001, I loved it but since then had a collapsed nostril and needed a revision. Apparently the techniques back then are now known to be incorrect. I did my revision in 2021 and am so glad I did it. It’s a quality of life issue, I couldn’t breathe out of one side of my nose. It impacted a lot. Having had it done now I am so glad I did it as I feel so much better. Risa, go for it! You will feel so much better. Between doing some hrt and having my nose fixed my ringing in my ears has stopped, I can breathe, I sleep well. Such a difference!

You are beautiful as you are Risa however I certainly know we are our own harshest critics. had a lower lift 13 years ago at 56. I only wanted a neck lift however was told no such thing, that said, I was thrilled with the results and never regretted it. 💜🇨🇦

Aging is a gift that many don't get to enjoy. Many more don't appreciate it. Why are we so hard on ourselves and each other?! Our value lies in our love and how we treat each other. Not in our appearance.

I think Risa looks great. Can't imagine why people would insult her looks, even if she looked bad. People who tear others down to make themselves feel better are usually troubled. It says more about them than the person they're insulting. I was also tall and skinny growing up in Vegas. Had the blonde hair (super light) but brown eyes (super dark) and people used to say the two didn't go together. My hair darkened over time, so now it is no longer white-blonde. It looks better.

Never understand complaints with hooded eyes. I think they’re pretty. The main thing is some makeup looks do not apply to hooded eyes so we just need different suggestions.

I've wanted a nose job all my life but always been too scared to get it done. When I was little my Asian family would tell me to pinch my nose closed so it wouldn't grow to be so wide.. They were joking but as kid I didn't know that. As an adult I reminded my aunt about it and asked her why she would say that and she said that her grandmother (my great grandmother) and her mom would tell her the same thing when she was little and it gave her a nose complex so instead of doing the opposite because of how much it hurt her growing up, she did the same exact thing to me with my nose when I was growing up... 😭
Oh ya I'm mixed Asian but was raised by my Asian side only and they would always talk about how my brother is lucky because he has the more pointy White people style nose. (he looks like he Hispanic or Native American version of our White father but we're just Asian mixed with White 😂)
