I feel very uncomfortable if Hollywood is telling perfectly good looking young people to get plastic surgery to advance their career. It’s as irresponsible as those in the modelling world telling already thin girls to lose more weight. What’s the point looking like a Beauty standard, you end up looking like everyone else. Whatever happened to individuality or distinct features. 😞

I agree! It’s really dystopian and disturbing when you take a beautiful person and literally break their face to make it fit a standard that…I’ll just say isn’t to my personal taste. But I’m a troll and would love to be blessed with as beautiful a face as Anna’s natural one. We do what we can on this earth, but I feel like Anna changing herself was a slap in the face to God. But who am I to say anything really. Poor girl.

I agree, however Hollywood is brutal as stunning as Marilyn was they even insisted on a minor change to her nose and chin. It almost sounds at this point they perform surgery on an actor with each character change! It is more intense in California and always with movies as opposed to TV. On Broadway talent tends to be the main objective. With the lack of editing and ability to cut and retake the actors really need to be on point and in character. Some remain in character for their entire time playing a character, until they find their way of being able to enter and exit their character. Often this will take place as they are preparing physically. If the accent is different that can be a key point as well. I'm not very familiar with her but believe they said she was born South American. I also recall them saying she found sessions with the voice coach torturous. If I were the coach I'd have her watch each movie Marilyn made..She had a very distinctive accent that accompanied her mannerisms. They can keep her watching Marilyn movies and moments, especially those that will be part of the movie and she will likely be expected to recreate.

I was told by my acting on camera teacher that those kind of features tend to look better on camera, that’s probably why they opt for that rather than because it’s a personal preference. Round cheeks keep you looking young though…the trade off is that you look older. Thank you Lorry for another great video!

She was a naturally beautiful, healthy girl who would grow into a gorgeous woman naturally. Unique in her own right. However what Hollywood does, especially to females as you have shown very well on this channel is make them into an image that they feel is more attractive and will make more money for them(bottom line always). All the pain and suffering(trauma physical and emotional) of surgeries and procedures, the normal disappointments and conflicting emotions one goes through over these decisions(remember she was still young)with the message that she wasn't good enough to be successful to begin with is so incredibly unhealthy and psychologically/emotionally destructive imo. I lived in France for over 10 years and got to experience the difference between the cultures and views on women. The pressure on girls and women to look a certain way per the standards of Hollywood is very much a thing. And the I would say over sexualized female image constantly pushed upon us all here was not what I experienced in day to day Europe. Wow... I've always felt rather self conscious about the appearance of my jaw from a side-profile because I don't have that nice "chiseled" look and it's rather full, but seeing Ana's "before photos" where her side profile jaw looks just like mine, on top of the fact that apparently one can only achieve that look through surgery (unless it is already a natural part of their appearance) makes me feel SO much better. I always leave these videos feeling less critical of my own appearance -- thank you ❤

  • @celestialextraterrestrial305

The buccal fat removal and the attempt of straightening her nostrils were enough. I believe in aiming to look like the best version of yourself if surgery is what you want. She had a natural exotic youthful beauty about her that they annihilated. They were clearly trying to make her look like Marilyn but it’s a failed mission. Marilyn didn’t even look like Marilyn. Like if they have a feature that is very crooked or out of proportion sure get it corrected. But I want to see more naturally beautiful ppl on screen and their little imperfections add character and authenticity, to me it is sometimes the imperfections that make a person beautiful because it adds some personality, something unique to them. And for roles where you need to look like someone else then makeup and special effects will do. The rest is good acting. I was just thinking there should be a video on Ana de Armas and then voila! You did a video on it, it’s like you read my mind. Strange! Great research and video as always, but I think you missed one thing. I just searched photos on Google of ‘El Internado’ and the third photo of the cast on the steps, definitely shows Ana had a chest augmentation. They’re quite large and indisputable. She might have had them taken out or reduced at some point.

It's a vicious cycle of stars & potential stars feeling the pressure to glamorize their looks, because (unfortunately) we live in a world that is looks oriented. We are too willing to demoralize folks opting to have cosmetic procedures & surgeries when those who are so critical are the ones that are hung up on how someone looks. Whose to say whether tweaking your physical features actually opens doors to more opportunities prior to making these tweaks. I happen to think actors, models, & entertainers get more job opportunities because of cosmetic enhancements & the pressure from Hollywood to do get them. For the most part, I imagine vanity is the main reason for physical tweaks, but for others who depend on cosmetic procedures, I think they are doing it for their livelihood & to stay employed in the industry. Yes, I plan to watch Blonde when it is released.

Wow! I didn’t realize all of these changes because they were subtle and not all at the same time. The eyebrow lift (sorry I don’t know how the procedure is called) is one of the most noticeable changes.
I have to admit, I praise and admire Ana De Armas beauty so much and to me, she is one of the most beautiful woman I’ve seen and the personality she displays in media is very sweet as well! I always thought she was completely natural so noticing these changes makes me really understand how hollywood has us thinking all these celebrities were born perfect.

It’s hard to really know. I’ve never had anything done but if you look at my senior high school photo then a photo at 24 when my face thinned out, you’d think I had all sorts of surgeries. Even my nose looks different with diminished cheek fat next to it. I, like lots of people, have the ability to lift and arch an eyebrow and tend to do it in posed photos. If you find a candid photo of me from say a year before when relaxed and with straight eyebrows, then in a posed photo when I tend to “lift” my face, basing just on photos a surgeon would say I definitely had an eyebrow lift. Weight fluctuations through life and facial puffiness also contribute to looking like you have extra eyelid skin sometimes and not in others, at least in myself and in-person people around me.

Right same with me. I’ve had so many changes on my face. My facial fat is gone. My eyebrows I’ve learned to lift with waxing. My nose has grown into my face Mewing has helped shaped my jaw and I know how to properly rest my lips on my face. People would think I had work done too lmao

I agree with a comment that said round or full face makes u look younger. When they want sharp, long, less full they take away youthfulness and that's the crime.Hollywood wants "perfect" and mature looks xP Ana de Armas was and it's stunning, the thing is that obviously u just know she didn't need a thing, it was just these "sugestions" that make these ppl doubt of themselves and they end up doing surgery in many cases. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos.
