Hi Lorry Hill, could you please read my comment below I'd appreciate it thank you 😊
Her surgeons were a lot better back then than a lot of today’s it seems.
I agree. Marilyn's looks improved, but she still looked natural and human. Girls today look like rubber dolls.
VegasGirl35 Maybe that’s because these plastic surgeons are just in it for the money, not to help their patient.
Well also they just did minor enhancements. Not a complete overhaul
Exactly my thoughts
Well she already looked beautiful, they just enhanced what was there
I’m so surprised that they could do all this back then.
Even the ancient Egyptians performed cosmetic surgery’s!
@@arronlawhon5146 really?? How?
I'm so amazed and the work looks natural and good. ...wow
Same! Honestly when i was a kid I thought plastic surgery was created around 1990s to early 2000s
Mary Jane Erard, Fine Art LLC have you seen 'LA Confidential'? Call girls having plastic surgery to look like famous actresses... great movie btw
I feel like her look is the archetype all plastic surgeries go back to. The half-shut eye, the arched brow, heart-shaped face and plump lips... Also, her makeup artist was genius
True
@x x Yes, she devised her eyebrow look with the points to make that angle -- in other ways she was a cosmetic modder too.
@x x which is incorrect. her makeup artist is called whitey and they were great friends until her death
She didnt have a heart shaped face
Whitey was a genius
If this is true then Monroe is the gold standard of plastic surgery. Nothing was overdone. They must have had a better artistic sense back then.
Also look at Shruti Hassan before and after , abollywood actress.😀
Ehh her eyes do look strange in some photos and angles, like a lazy eye.
@@nishantrn5567 She isn’t a Bollywood actress technically.
Right! She was always ”natural” you’know.
@@viceb7 lazy eyes aren’t natural ?
She was so badly used and abused.
She was worth much more than she thought.
Agreed. I feel so sad when I think about Marilyn.
I think this is the saddest video in this channel.
Amen
Yess 😔 I always get sad when I hear her story. Especially her last interview two days before she died
Can you imagine if technology existed the way it does today
No wonder why so many people in Hollywood are depressed, with people constantly telling them they’re not good enough. She was beautiful either way.
Jessica G But then again people sign up for this type of stuff . Women stood in line and knew what it’s about lmao unless u have crazy money hungry parents
I'm thinking the same here.. that must have been why she was so sad. Imagine you having to change all your appearance to make your dream come true but you end up being known only for your look. The dream turn into a nightmare.
I couldn't have said that any better myself!
She was perfect before surgery and didn't even need it to begin with. I believe the surgery she had to get made her even more insecure, her self esteem was already low... imagine someone telling you that you have to get work to be considered beautiful. Sadly that's the case with most celebrities.
@@shijutu she was not
You are the ONLY person so far who has acknowledged her eyes were worked on. I have been saying it for years
Exactly. It's just obvious
Her eyes, nose, chin…
@@jayp9785 Not at all. There's literally NO PROOF OF EYE WORK. Make up is partially the key to Monroe's success.
Since I heard about her, I noticed she had done her something in her eyes and cheek, maybe her nose as well
I’ve heard people say it’s just makeup. Makeup doesn’t magic away the skin above the eyes. She had surgery. It’s so obvious. And was done perfectly.
*Thank you for being so classy when talking about Marilyn. She had a very difficult life and was so used and abused. By the way, you're lovely too.*
Aww thank you 🙏🏻
"I've got my Marilyn Monroe makeup on. For those of you that don't like it - tough. This isn't a makeup channel." The justified shade of it all

@@chynadole1991 I thought it was unnecessarily bitchy, too.
Can we just take a minute to talk about how beautiful Lorry is with the Marilyn makeup though??
I can't stop looking at her beautiful lips
Aww thank you so much
Agreed. 🤩🥰🥰
Lorry can never look bad.
Lorry is a beauty!!!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Imagine how terrifying getting plastic surgery would be back then when it was in its infancy
Yeah It's scary enough nowadays but back then there was basically just trial and error and absolutely no research about the long-term effects of the surgeries. Like e.g. modern breast implants are bad enough (breast implant illness, cancer from textured implants, manufacturing mistakes etc.) so the early ones must have extremely dangerous. I wonder if women back then were really aware of all the risks or if the surgeons kinda lied to them and actresses like Marilyn got pressured into it by the studios.
@@inspiredby624 ikr
I think Marylin was beautiful before and after. Who's paying that much attention to somebody's chin? People that picky aren't usually good looking themselves. I notice it's unattractive ppl who bash others looks most of the time.
Thankiu sooo much u just said my mind
Weak chins are very noticeable. In men it is also seen as a huge flaw.
@@debbielockhart7762 as someone with a small chin this makes me sad. Let people be and stop calling their natural features “flaws”
@@debbielockhart7762 well, her chin was totally fine, it's noticable only when the whole jaw is kinda short and chin is too far before upper jaw, but her skull was beautiful (and I'm not one of people who praises her, but it's hard to deny her chin was ok before and after).
The most important parts of your face to your attractiveness are the eye area and the jawline
“Chinless wonder” so they acknowledged how impressive she was, but still had to tear her down one way or another, they still had to find the tiniest little “flaw”. Society constantly does this to us women, they did it even to her, one the most gorgeous of all.
And now we are doing it to men too. Spread the hate I guess. Sickening..
I'd pay $ to se the guy who said it!
Isn't it women doing it to Marilyn looked great "naturally"

As for her breasts becoming bigger from weight gain, I’ve read that Marilyn has been pregnant several times but sadly always miscarried. I believe she gained weight from pregnancy.
She did gain weight from pregnancies . And then in the last year of her life she had her gull bladder removed and lost lots of weight and you can tell her breasts became much smaller also. They had her start wearing " falsies" to compensate for the weight loss
Look at her last photos the oned Lindsey Lohan copied, with the pearls. Her breasts were small
I actually heard she aborted many times.
sony so nope. She didn’t ever have abortions. A baby was the one thing she always wanted in life.
@@immilovesJesus the haters go after her chin in the 50s and in the 2020s they come for her uterus and the validity of her (multiple publicly stated) maternal desires integrity. Let the legend rest, she was after all just a woman at the bottom line who wanted what every last one of us wants most ; to be genuinely deeply and passionately Loved for who she was inside and to have a home and family she knew she belonged unconditionally and to be seen as and told she was pretty. If she could only see now how beautiful, truly Loved more for her authentic quotes than her photos and scripted lines , admired for that extra 5-10lbs that worried Hollywood and people today's genuine desire to live her better from all the scars life put on her aching heart and to know the home she has in every girls heart that makes up the ever growing family of those of us that not only love Marilyn but the real Norma Jean inside Ms Monroe. Makes me sad that they sold her medical records....😓
Why would they do that? Was HIPPA not a thing then?
Elsie DeLorean it is but HIPPA doesn’t protect your records after 50 years of your death and they sold them exactly on the 50th anniversary of her death..
Marilyn left the bulk of her items to her acting coach Lee Strausburg. When Lee died, the daughter inherited everything and SOLD ALL OF IT ! ugh , those items belonged in a museum.. but theres no money from a museum I guess :(
@@plumpy_space_princess Not back then. Some people will do anything for money.

Marilyn looked so much different before and after those suregeries, it's like the same face with new sharper features.
And still some people continue to deny it, like it's so obvious that she had things done you never know what's going in Hollywood how much sacrifices are needed to debut as an idol.
Her eyes kind of remind me of Britney Spears, surprisingly. They both have a similar appeal, too
I agree
Plastic surgery seemed to look much more natural back then
I don't think MM had anything done, those points are just how a woman ages.
@mary Takaoka you say he had no surgeries
@@marytapioca i agree with Mary.
I think what ends up looking terrible is the face lift. People forget that after the lift, they carry on aging, so in the end the artificial bit just ends up looking like a melting mask. If people avoid them then they seem to age well.
@@marytapioca There's medical records of her getting some of these surgeries though.
Her energy and her aura is what drew people in. She was the live version of the Mona Lisa, something about her just draws you in and you can’t put your finger on what it is. @@LorryHill this c reminds me of a time I was offended by you saying something about B Spears glam level. You handled it with grace and I was impressed! I remembered it. You took what I said to heart and took the time to clarify but stood your ground. I appreciated the class and took note to wanting to handle things that way myself in the future.
Also noticed in this video you clarified it further (in my eyes) the idea of glamourous vs wholesome! That made it make even more sense to me because it was not then good (glam) vs bad (frumpy/saggy) but good (glam) vs (good) wholesome... ANOTHER type of beauty a woman can bring out in herself! It took that conversation to get to that understanding. That's through putting out a "win-win" vibe. It's clear you genuinely want us all to feel beautiful, whatever that means to us. And not feel duped by lies and secrets about the world. It's not fair to be compared to someone else (by ourselves or others) let alone someone who has spent a million dollars to get there. And it's not fair to deny ourselves this if it's what we want With all our hearts and be judged or deny yourself peace if you don't want it and choose the naturally. Great work! Before I started watching your channel, I used to think only a certain “kind“ of celebrity would get plastic surgery. Like people like Pam Anderson or like Nicki Minaj because it’s just so obvious that they’ve had work done. But this channel opened my naïve eyes, whereas I used to think that when a celebrity looked a little different that it was just a change of makeup or hair, now my eyes are wide open to the smoke and mirrors of Hollywood and how no one is immune to the quest for “perfection.”
You summarized it perfectly Ashley !
Same! I was so naive.
I think we mostly notice poorly done plastic surgery. When it's done well you often can't put your finger on what's different, just that they seem refreshed and lovely.
So I think what you’re getting confused about is that Marilyn Monroe is not famous because she had plastic surgery. Pam and Nikki are famous Soley because they had plastic surgery. They would not have been noticed had they not. I think they’re both very sexy I think they’re both very good at what they do but they’re where they are SOLELY because of plastic surgery Marilyn Monroe was not. She was a very very naturally talented performer who studied very hard to get where she was AND she was absolutely beautiful and appeared in films before she had any work done. Sophia Loren had zero plastic surgery starting out. She had a very natural look with a longer nose. She didn’t change anything apart from dramatic weight loss to come to Hollywood that was it.
@@superamanda Nicki not “Nikki” is a very talented, quirky/animated and naturally beautiful woman and that’s why we love her not because she got her body done. What exactly are you even saying???

Excellent analysis. I guess these procedures back then were kept secret for Hollywood stars. And the results appear so natural.

I think it’s impressive that they were able to do these kinds of plastic surgeries back in the 1900s
19340-60*
They couldn't. This is nonsense.
dorotheainmiddle You’re nonsense.
Let’s say mid 1900s. Post World War II.
1940's. End of 1940's. After WWII they did a lot of things. Plastic surgery dates way before the 1900's. It's an ancient practice.
Wow! I didn’t realize all the plastic surgery that was available in her time
I believe some form of plastic surgery has been around for quite some time. I think that during WWI they tried to repair major damage, especially to soldier's faces. "During the 16th century, Gaspare Tagliacozzi first started nose grafting with the help of the skin flaps of upper arm. Medicine history names him as the father of plastic surgery."
a documentary on the history of plastic surgery would be amazing
I don't judge people, even if she had anything done to her face, it wouldn't change anything. She was an angel
I like how you talked about beauty coming partly from inner essence.
I call it star quality.
Princess Diana had it.
Yes she did
They both had the same personality, type 4 in the enneagram.
agree, Dianna and Marilyn had kind hearts, both loved children and animals and had empathy...an inner luminescence which came from inside..their souls shined
Do Audrey Hepburn! I want to know if she had plastic surgery or not, either way she's a legend!

It’s doubtful Marilyn ever had electrolysis. Electrolysis in the ‘40s and ‘50s was a painful procedure that basically fried the root follicles of the hair. The result was redness, inflammation, irritation, and in some cases, scabbing. During that time frame, Marilyn worked frequently: on-screen as a “bit player,” modelling (she started doing a lot of cheesecake photos during that time), and as a stage model for various conventions. She wasn’t shown wearing wigs back then, and nobody, including her hairdressers, reported anything unusual about her hair. If she did alter her hairline, it could only have been via plucking with tweezers.
The breast augmentation job is also false in all probability. Her autopsy reported nothing unusual about her breasts, and Bert Stern’s “Last Sitting” photo session in June of 1962 (two months before her death) had Marilyn’s nude breasts on full display. They were small, owing to a significant weight loss, but no infection was present.
The pictures seem to indicate she had electrolysis. Also she could've had the saline injections that went everywhere.
@@granny58 All the pictures indicate was that her hairline was altered, not that she had electrolysis. Like I said, she probably plucked her hairline to avoid the usual scarring and scabbing that would come with multiple sessions. Rita Hayworth had electrolysis treatments and would show up to studio lots wearing a hat to hide the inflammations.
Also, doctors didn't offer saline for cosmetic procedures during that time period in either implant or injection form. Silicone was what they were injecting back then, but they always caused infections and physical disfigurations, which Marilyn never had.
Even though I adore her and always thought of her as this natural beauty I am very thankful for this video because it humanizes her and makes me feel a little bit more secure about my looks.
Hey everyone; I’ve seen quite a few comments saying things like “they didn’t have those surgeries back then “ and that I’m spreading lies. First off; please do your research; if you did you’d know that those surgeries did exist then.
Secondly; before you accuse me of lying; consider that you are also saying Marilyn Monroe’s medical records (where most of the procedures are listed ) are also false and in turn, the doctors who wrote in them are lying .
So crazy, these procedures are subject to complications even today. Incredible that they were practiced so early on. That should have been risky
I've followed Marilyn's life story and have read quite a few books on her life and your account is 100% accurate. She was beautiful before, yes, but imho the surgery elevated her to magnificence. But that luminicence came from within....
@Peach Macabre And you????

When I was a child, I listened about plastic surgery as a movie starsreally expensive affair. Ordinary people didn´t know what kind of plastic surgeries existed.
I just had to watch this video again just to calm down after a stressfull day. You are always so calming and sweet. Thanks girl XO
The big difference to plastic surgerey these days is that Marilyn still looked like herself and VERY beautiful before and after. Actresses these days often look like a totally different person and all of them have the same catalogue nose. Like Melanie Griffith, Meg Ryan, Nicole Kidman, Courtney Love, Renée Zellweger etc
Now a days the plastic surgery is more like Frankinstine than Marilyn Monroe. You can barely recognize some but Marilyn was so slightly changed you really need to put it under a microscope. Just like surgery for cancer was so good women could live 30 more years and you are lucky to survive 5 years now. Go figure 💖🌹💖

My heart breaks for this woman. She was used by Hollywood but was a bright, beautiful star all on her own. Beautiful women rarely get the credit they deserve.
You should do a video on the beginning of plastic surgery! Like what the first procedures were and the historical beauty standards behind them.
That isn't exclusive to just "beautiful" women

I've always found it interesting that plastic surgery back then was more discret and natural looking than later.
Not really. The noses tended to be just terrible.
There's still plenty of discreet plastic surgery today but you'd never be able to spot it. Most people still lie about getting anything done if they can get away with it.

Marilyn was definitely one of the early plastic surgery success stories. She looked beautiful before, but after just WOW.
My God, her story breaks my heart. She is a darling and tragic. Great work with the investigation. I've become so much more aware HOW pervasive this is and has been in our culture. Sometimes it's good, sometimes toxic. Getting a chin implant because of bullying is just heartbreaking.
I know; it shows you that we all have similar struggles
I wonder how much Michael Jackson’s surgeries would cost. 😳
I’ve always thought that plastic surgery wasn’t a thing until the 90s! Boy was I wrong! These surgeons from back in those days did an amazing job to an already gorgeous face.
im glad u talk about her surgery because people rarely do and her surgery is so well done and subtle
Thank you 😊
I'm in awe at how subtle her surgeries were, especially back in the days. She was a gorgeous woman in her pre surgery era but Hollywood was an even more ruthless grinding machine than it already is, poor woman needed to be loved for who she was and Hollywood wasn't the good place for this :-(
Your videos have made me realize how special having a lot of eye lid space is! I’ve never noticed that my eyes have a certain look to them.. Monroe was super famous for eyes that look like mine but hers were surgical.. no hate but it does make me feel a little 🤌🏻🥰😂 Something ab myself to feel proud of.
Marilyn is very special to me, a personal favorite, and while revealing her deepest darkest beauty secrets is not a subject that i particularly enjoy, i felt the love, respect, admiration, inspiration and it totally felt like a tribute, not only to her timeless beauty, but to her even more stunning charisma.
I do believe the changes in the shape of her breasts were due to weight fluctuation, she had a gallbladder surgery near the tragic end of her life causing a dramatic weight loss which made her look a lot slimmer in her mid 30's, she still modeled and even did a famous topless photoshoot, and while her breasts looked smaller you can tell they were natural. Thank you for this enlightening and respectful video about one of the most beautiful angels that ever graced this undeserving world
I think it was her the one who said. "It takes a smart brunette to play a dumb blonde" or something along those lines.

Kiran Rana I know of her and she’s very beautiful but I’ve never gotten to see any of her movies
According to the mortician who prepared her body for burial, she didn't have any work done on her breasts. There's a CZcams video where he talks about it. He said her breasts were so flat, that he actually had to put a bra on her and stuff some tissue/cotton in it to make it look like she had breasts. She never wore a bra or panties, and her ex-husband Joe, who was responsible for her funeral, told them to make her look like she did in life. He specifically told them not to put undergarments on her, as she never wore them. But, the mortician told him, in order to make her look like she had breasts, he'd have to put a bra on her and stuff it. They fashioned her a diaper sort of thing out of some scrap material, because the mortician's wife thought it was disrespectful for her to be just displayed on the table with nothing covering her private parts while they embalmed/prepared her. RIP Norma Jean
Thanks for doing this! I always knew she had done plastic surgery, but it’s interesting to see how much. No judgment, the results were stunning and moreso for having been done so early on in history.
She was way beautiful as norma Jean mortenson
My 4 year old said the SAME thing; sweet looking
She preferred to go by Norma Jean Baker but both of those last names were her mothers ex husband's last names. That's why when she renamed her self Marilyn Monroe, the names mean something. I forgot why she chose Marilyn but Monroe is her mother's at birth last name name 😊
Elle Mathews interesting.
Pam Anderson who looks somewhat like Marilyn was far more beautiful before all of her surgery. Natural beauty is underrated. That needs to change. Doubt that it will, as Hollywood is all about creating young, super sexy, fantasy figures to make money for the studios.
Marilyn had a wholesome natural beauty. However, Hollywood is all about fantasy and glam.
This was enjoyable and fascinating. I thought she was attractive without and with surgery. And her surgeon(s) did a good job, especially back in those days. Very subtle tweaks made to her face.
I agree; they were very skilled for that time
I wish she kept her natural face
@Cassie Miller Yes, I read that recently. Do you know why? For what benefit? I'm really interested and will try it myself once I know why.
Great video! Makes me feel better about myself. Well done, Lorry!
Ava Gardner might be a good one to look at... She had an Elizabeth Taylor look and when she became famous, her face completely changed - cheekbones in particular.
I can’t (but can) believe that they sold her medical records... I would love a video about procedures of the past. WTF are sponge implants? In her face and her chest?!
This is one of your best videos...
So glad you liked it! Also glad they aren’t using sponges anymore
If you look at pictures of her as a teen, her chest is the same size. I do not see proof of implant. Her chest was not large at all.
@@Michelle-pn9xt Yes, it looks instead like weight fluctuations like Lorry mentioned. They never kept their size as she gained or lost.
Reportedly, her beautiful locks were thrown in the trash by a clueless medical examiner during her autopsy that determined she committed suicide. It is questionable that she committed suicide.
Gany Meade what does this mean?
Celebrity: I havnt has any work done
Lorry: ok now let's add up the costs of her plastic surgeries.
🤣🤣🤣 lorry hows the k pop stars comming?
Haha !! I’m really hesitant about doing Kpop because after I announced it people warned me not to !!! (Because of the fans or idols)
@@LorryHill you'll def get some backlash in the comments, but as long as you remain respectful like in this video, you'll be fine
Lol! This comment cracked me up so much that I had to come back to this video after watching a few of her other videos so I could comment. Haha!
@@LorryHill I hope you do some in the future. Fans can be very agressive but hopefully you could start with males? Will really love it if you could, although is not an obligation of course.
@@LorryHill even tho this is from eight months ago. As a kpop fan myself *don’t it is basically asking to get murdered by toxic stans*
I feel Marilyn was exceptionally beautiful. If she had not had any changes done. She would have continued to stand out from the crowd. I agree. Inner and the essence of Marilyn 's beauty shone through. She had her own effervescence that was extremely attractive. Remembering Marilyn. 95 this year..x
This is so interesting. I didn’t even know they had this back then.
It’s really comforting to see the before pictures of these unattainably beautiful women and recognize that yes they looked like how most people would normally look. I started following this channel for this reason and now I’m just here to enjoy the knowledge and getting that confidence boost from time to time. Thank you for your work Lorry. You’re so sassy and fun too I love it.
Hi Rita; I love to hear this; it’s how I feel too and thank you for watching 🥰
"I don't have a price for this because... it's not legal." Your face when you said that 🤣 It's so good. Amazing video as always Lorry ❤ And that makeup is so beautiful 😌
Aww thank you ♥️

Wow only a year ago and the audio has improved so much! Keep up the awesome work boo!
I’m so glad that nobody is bashing her for this, she had the right to do it. She was so beautiful to start with and it just added, there’s nothing wrong with getting plastic surgery
Historically when did movie stars getting plastic surgery? Can you do a video on this?
Yes I will in the future!
I do know that Marlena Dietrich wanted a face lift before it was common, and she wore tape to lift the eye area as she got older. And of course, Joan Rivers! So much material!!!
i appreciate all that you do and the reason behind it so keep going lorry, don't let others’ negative comments discourage you! 💖
Such a sweet comment! thank you!
I just fell on this and I could watch you talk all day! Absolutely interesting!!!!
I keep watching this because I like to hear her repeat 'bletheroplasty.'
I'd love it if you could expand your CZcams channel and make a separate series on plastic surgery history. Like who invented what cosmetic operation and what period it comes from, etc., etc. It would be a huge endeavor and require a lot of research on your part, so I'd understand if it isn't something you'd like to dive deep into. I love your presentation and openness to the subject tho, and think you'd be perfect for it!
I’m definitely thinking about something like that in the future if I can make it interesting enough ! Thank you so much
Wow this sounds like a great idea
Great idea
all her work is so subtle... the most dramatic in my opinion is the chin implant. i don’t think she had her body worked on personally.
Agree.. this is a bit gruesome but the man who was getting her ready for the funeral said someone who worked with marilyn came in and said " this doesnt look like marilyn, where are her falsies?!" (Falsies as in fake boobs) and they put the falsies in and yeah. I listened to the interview from the guy. To me , he is unprofessional, he stole a locket of Marilyn's hair out of the trash .. :(
They couldn't even let her rest in death, always wanting something from her.
I didn't know beforehand I found this so intresting. Excellently put together and very knowledgeable.
I’m sorry but electrosis of the hairline is NOT plastic surgery. Marilyn had a little bump on her nose removed and she wore a small cap between her two front teeth to disguise a small gap there. Lorry should stick to dentistry. She is way off on Marilyn Monroe . . . period.
With and without surgery, she was meant to be a star. She was a beautiful woman in and out. I love Marilyn, she's my biggest idol and will always be. She didn't need these surgeries at all I believe. Crazy how long she lived through so much pain yet she always managed to smile for the camera. Thank you for making this video.
In my opinion Marilyn Monroe was the most beautiful woman that ever lived.
Without surgery she looks average sorry
@kiranjit rana she was quite pretty BUT she did not have the it factor
@@nananini9199 she was pretty just
Because she didn’t have blonde hair and the 40s doesn’t make her less attractive-
True
@@nananini9199 I agree somewhat but even before her procedures she had a vibrant and captivating smile that just pulls you in imo
I just found your channel and it's amazing. Thank you so much
I see that a lot of people here are surprised about the fact Marilyn could get plastic surgery such a long time ago. Rita Hayworth is a Golden-Age actress who completely changed her face type around the same time. When I first read about it years ago I was very surprised that back-then celebrities could already modify their appearance like that. She went through a lot of procedures, not just plastic surgery but also stuff we don't do anymore (I think) like plucking her hairline. Sadly she was pretty much forced to do all that by the men handling her career, so she could look less Latina (they turned her into a pale redhead and gave her a fake Anglo name) and start a career with a "more appealing" look. They completely changed her persona into a bankable one. They liked her dancing talents but didn't like her looks and her shy and unimpressive personality/attitude so she learned to hold herself differently. Now she is still known for her femme fatale persona that was actually far from her original personality. So it could be interesting if you made a video about her.
