      @inspiredby624 Před 2 lety +51

      Yeah It's scary enough nowadays but back then there was basically just trial and error and absolutely no research about the long-term effects of the surgeries. Like e.g. modern breast implants are bad enough (breast implant illness, cancer from textured implants, manufacturing mistakes etc.) so the early ones must have extremely dangerous. I wonder if women back then were really aware of all the risks or if the surgeons kinda lied to them and actresses like Marilyn got pressured into it by the studios.

      Also noticed in this video you clarified it further (in my eyes) the idea of glamourous vs wholesome! That made it make even more sense to me because it was not then good (glam) vs bad (frumpy/saggy) but good (glam) vs (good) wholesome... ANOTHER type of beauty a woman can bring out in herself! It took that conversation to get to that understanding. That's through putting out a "win-win" vibe. It's clear you genuinely want us all to feel beautiful, whatever that means to us. And not feel duped by lies and secrets about the world. It's not fair to be compared to someone else (by ourselves or others) let alone someone who has spent a million dollars to get there. And it's not fair to deny ourselves this if it's what we want With all our hearts and be judged or deny yourself peace if you don't want it and choose the naturally. Great work! Before I started watching your channel, I used to think only a certain “kind“ of celebrity would get plastic surgery. Like people like Pam Anderson or like Nicki Minaj because it’s just so obvious that they’ve had work done. But this channel opened my naïve eyes, whereas I used to think that when a celebrity looked a little different that it was just a change of makeup or hair, now my eyes are wide open to the smoke and mirrors of Hollywood and how no one is immune to the quest for “perfection.”

      So I think what you’re getting confused about is that Marilyn Monroe is not famous because she had plastic surgery. Pam and Nikki are famous Soley because they had plastic surgery. They would not have been noticed had they not. I think they’re both very sexy I think they’re both very good at what they do but they’re where they are SOLELY because of plastic surgery Marilyn Monroe was not. She was a very very naturally talented performer who studied very hard to get where she was AND she was absolutely beautiful and appeared in films before she had any work done. Sophia Loren had zero plastic surgery starting out. She had a very natural look with a longer nose. She didn’t change anything apart from dramatic weight loss to come to Hollywood that was it.

    It’s doubtful Marilyn ever had electrolysis. Electrolysis in the ‘40s and ‘50s was a painful procedure that basically fried the root follicles of the hair. The result was redness, inflammation, irritation, and in some cases, scabbing. During that time frame, Marilyn worked frequently: on-screen as a “bit player,” modelling (she started doing a lot of cheesecake photos during that time), and as a stage model for various conventions. She wasn’t shown wearing wigs back then, and nobody, including her hairdressers, reported anything unusual about her hair. If she did alter her hairline, it could only have been via plucking with tweezers.
    The breast augmentation job is also false in all probability. Her autopsy reported nothing unusual about her breasts, and Bert Stern’s “Last Sitting” photo session in June of 1962 (two months before her death) had Marilyn’s nude breasts on full display. They were small, owing to a significant weight loss, but no infection was present.

      @@granny58 All the pictures indicate was that her hairline was altered, not that she had electrolysis. Like I said, she probably plucked her hairline to avoid the usual scarring and scabbing that would come with multiple sessions. Rita Hayworth had electrolysis treatments and would show up to studio lots wearing a hat to hide the inflammations.
      Also, doctors didn't offer saline for cosmetic procedures during that time period in either implant or injection form. Silicone was what they were injecting back then, but they always caused infections and physical disfigurations, which Marilyn never had.

    According to the mortician who prepared her body for burial, she didn't have any work done on her breasts. There's a CZcams video where he talks about it. He said her breasts were so flat, that he actually had to put a bra on her and stuff some tissue/cotton in it to make it look like she had breasts. She never wore a bra or panties, and her ex-husband Joe, who was responsible for her funeral, told them to make her look like she did in life. He specifically told them not to put undergarments on her, as she never wore them. But, the mortician told him, in order to make her look like she had breasts, he'd have to put a bra on her and stuff it. They fashioned her a diaper sort of thing out of some scrap material, because the mortician's wife thought it was disrespectful for her to be just displayed on the table with nothing covering her private parts while they embalmed/prepared her. RIP Norma Jean

    I see that a lot of people here are surprised about the fact Marilyn could get plastic surgery such a long time ago. Rita Hayworth is a Golden-Age actress who completely changed her face type around the same time. When I first read about it years ago I was very surprised that back-then celebrities could already modify their appearance like that. She went through a lot of procedures, not just plastic surgery but also stuff we don't do anymore (I think) like plucking her hairline. Sadly she was pretty much forced to do all that by the men handling her career, so she could look less Latina (they turned her into a pale redhead and gave her a fake Anglo name) and start a career with a "more appealing" look. They completely changed her persona into a bankable one. They liked her dancing talents but didn't like her looks and her shy and unimpressive personality/attitude so she learned to hold herself differently. Now she is still known for her femme fatale persona that was actually far from her original personality. So it could be interesting if you made a video about her.
