Lorry, you often refer to a face lift. Do you think it’s possible that some of the celebrities get a facetite procedure? It tightens the skin nicely and for the 30+ and even 40+ groups pretty good alternative to a face lift ❤
Yes, she has the right to get any cosmetic surgery she wants- but I remember when she was first casted as Katniss, she was very open and vocal about all the negativity she received from the industry about her appearance. She has also stated multiple times that she’s always thought she looked great, but was constantly told otherwise. I can’t help but think that these procedures were less about what she wanted, and more about what was expected of her.
She was criticized specifically for that part because she looked nothing like the character and the character was supposed to be starving, which was not her body type. There was a lot of controversy about whether she would lose weight for the part and she refused, which made fans of the book confused and annoyed as it made no sense to the storyline. Why was she cast in the part if she wasn't going to reflect the character.

@@kp4911I thought so too in the beginning, but she encapsulated the role perfectly and the movies turned out amazing, so ultimately it didn't matter. Looking back at her now, she was actually quite thin already. I don't think her losing more weight was necessary, she made the right call.

Jennifer Lawrence IMO now looks like Ivanka Trump who had a similar natural face so I can see how the result of plastic surgery would end up creating a resemblance.
I don't think they actually look identical. I just think their faces have become so cohesive and symmetrical, that any prominant features have blended in. It's like a trick of the eye and probably confusing for our evolutionary way of identifying faces 😂 I'm actually bad with remembering faces, but I don't really confuse celebs with other celebs. (Unless it's a weird photoshopped image).

Her new face is very “perfect,” it hits all of our conventional beauty standards. Yet, she looks very generic. What was left of her unique features were removed, along with the artificial features that she had from previous surgeries. What’s left is very bland tbh, it may be “perfect” but honestly perfection is pretty boring. It really goes to show what an impact our facial features have on our uniqueness, I hope the people who watch this video can come out of it with some appreciation for their own features. Even the features we might see as flaws. Because those flaws keep us unique.

As someone with hooded eyes myself, it makes me sad to see the few celebs who kept their hooded eyes getting rid of them. Not to blame J'Law in any way, I can't imagine what it must feel like if everyone around you sees the beauty doc more often then their mother, but J'Law has always been a great example for a gorgeous face with hooded eyes. Now she looks like all these Kims Megans and Arianas: beautiful but cold and sharp.

This!! I was always so self-conscious of my hooded eyes. I remember seeing a magazine - Glamour or Vogue or something - having a headline saying she had the year's sexiest eyes and I was so excited to finally see someone's hooded eyes be agreed upon by people whose job it is to critique beauty as being beautiful. It sounds silly, but for a teenager who really looked at her as someone I wanted to be like and related to, it was huge for me.

@@puffball4484 I am 54 and got my cheek fillers dissolved after having them for 4 years. Yes they were still there, as I had an ultra sound to prove it. My face looks tons better and I had no drooping. It was a concern of mine, but the doctor said it won't happen and he was correct!

It's interesting to me, how the more surgery done, the more celebrities begin to look like one another. I am far from perfect but know my imperfections have been passed down gentically from my parents and ancestors which reminds me to honor them by remaining me. I hope that whatever the reasoning Jennifer had this done, it wasnt because she felt she had to, to be loved. She was beautiful at all stages.
My family made fun of my nose so on bad days I have dysphoria. I remind myself this is a nose of South East Asia and from my ancestors.

As a huge hunger games fan, I’ve been keeping an eye on J’Law over the years. I think her plastic surgery looks good, but at the same time it is disappointing to see her unique features fade over the years, especially with the upper facelift and her most recent changes. I hope she knows when to stop and to not erase everything. I was also surprised at the amount of procedures
I agree. She used to be my idol because I did some acting as a child, and her natural, effortless talent and bubbly personality really inspired me. It's really depressing to see her change her appearance so much, I wish she stopped because her face was truly fine. IMO she kind of aged up her face, it doesn't look more youthful to me. She's still absolutely beautiful I just think she aged her face. She'll keep going and going just like the other celebrities do.

she had such unique features and was the only actress that has came so far in her career with her features. now she has perfected everything, and her unique eyes are turned into almost almond eyes. I genuinely gasped at where she has come to. whatever the reason, it's somehow saddening to see someone leave most of the features she had behind.

Thank you for this video! I recently saw No Hard Feelings in the theatre. I actually gasped the first time I saw her face on the big screen because she looked so different! Not in a bad way, just not how I remember her looking in prior films. I think she has lost a bit of her unique look, but I think it's hard for us "normal" people to understand the enormous pressure on actresses to stay looking youthful.

I thought maybe she had some small stuff done. She had her nose done a long time ago, but it wasn't obvious. Filler here and there wasn't obvious, but when I saw her recently she seemed like a live example of a Photoshopped version.

@@marieb5251Lorry mentioned in another video that what she does is find before and after photos with similar angles, overlay them over one another, and adjust the transparency to see if there’s changes to the features that can’t be explained by natural causes. Sure she probably gets it wrong sometimes, but she’s also not shooting darts blindly.

I’ve always thought she was so gorgeous, and while crazy beautiful she seemed accessible. Her look now is now so far towards ‘perfect’ that it changes her vibe. Which is what I think so many people loved about her. I’m sure the pressure is immense, I’d probably cave too.

I think she's now lost that girl-next-door vibe which was made her look so youthful and accessible. Megan Fox had the same look in Transformers but had work done which changed that vibe.

Jessica mentioned in an interview that the makeup/prosthetics used on “The Eyes of Tammy Faye” to create the Tammy Faye character actually damaged her skin!
I hadn’t seen her in quite a while, so when I watched her recent Chicken Shop Date interview, I definitely noticed that she looked different. My mind immediately went to plastic surgery, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on what procedures she could’ve gotten done… so this video was very enlightening! And also a little sad, as everyone else here seems to have brought up :(

The change between 18-21 is really drastic, the before doesn’t even look like her. I guess because she made that change so young, the after is what’s recognizable. And I honestly thought she was so beautiful and even with plastic surgery had a unique look. I liked that her face was rounder, it made her look youthful. Now I think she followed the plastic surgery trends in Hollywood and now every celebrity is starting to look the same and have the same features - prominent cheekbones, buccal fat removal, slim jaw, full lips, eyebrows high on the face, no more hooded eyes, and more
Edit: I was looking at pictures the other day after reading her interview with Kylie and I think the makeup in the thumbnail did make it seem like she had more plastic surgery than she has. Her eyes are still hooded though the makeup is done well to make them not look so. And she talked about her makeup artist over-lining her lips. It's probable she has some lip filler but not as drastic as the photos show. You can really see the over-lining at 13:43

It's sad and disappointing. IMO she made herself look older than what she actually is -- still gorgeous, but older. And it's kind of scary to think about these celebrities all slowly just turning into clones of each other with the same faces. Someone new and natural shows up, and next thing you know, they become a clone. Kind of disturbing in a way.

@@JayneNicoletti because it was making her lower face sag. Fat IS NOT ALWAYS YOUTHFUL. It can drag the face down as well. She did not have ideal fat placement in her face to begin with, hence the early mid face lift and cheek implants. She was a good candidate for buccal fat removal.

Let's be honest, Jennifer has always done a remarkable job of looking subtle and natural. In contrast, her recent procedures are very apparent, but she looks absolutely incredible. I would say one of the most remarkable plastic surgery transformations I've seen.

Thanks Lorry for this video because what I thought was Jennifer's original face was actually already plastic surgery! She was, and is gorgeous, but it's funny to me that the changes she made at first that were the least attractive to me, like the overfilled cheeks and the very pulled eyes, were her tweaked features.
However that face was her trademark, this not so much. She now looks like dozens of other people I could name off the top of my head. It doesn't take away from her talent or her beauty but it has removed her distinctiveness.
personally i think she should have kept the hooded eyes. they were practically her signature. she looks so strange without them- like a constant surprised face. shame everyone is starting to look the same and hooded eyes are not considered beautiful. i think they're alluring and very pretty.

I had a weird attachment to her and for some reason it's sad to see her now! We can't know that we wouldn't make the same choices under the same pressures. Makeup only explains so much. I had no idea she'd done so much starting so young.

I think she looks stunning now, but she looks like all the other plastic surgery celebrities now. I really loved her natural beauty, she looked even more beautiful back then.
That's just wild to me! My first exposure to her was in Winter's Bone and I always thought she was one of the more natural celebrities. At the end of the day, it's her face so I can only hope that she's healthy and happy. Now, I'm curious about other celebrities who I thought are more natural like Gal Gadot, Kirsten Dunst, and Daniel Craig.

To me and apparently to a lot of people as well it's evident that Jennifer did something to her face, she looks completely different, the power of makeup is undoubtedly immense but this is not it. I had never seen a celebrity with features like mine, especially the eyes and height, until I watched some of her oldest films. She looks wonderful now! But it was so inspiring to see a talented lady so many people consider beautiful with relatable features back when I was younger and less confident.
Her hooded eyes actually made her look very unique. Around the time that she won the Oscar she was looking really good. I don't think anything was necessary

Wow, I'm surprised to see how different she looks in the 2023 photos you showed here! She no longer looks recognisable to me as Jennifer Lawrence, it's a whole different face. Wild the differences between what can be changed and what can't to make someone recognisable or not and you can't necessarily know until it's already done, since it can really vary from person to person.

Obviously people wouldnt have more empathy for men, we as women are more lucky, we have a lot of movements just made to make us feel better

men are pressured in Hollywood too, not just women. Part of their job is to look beautiful (more beautiful than a normal human being), so logically if they want to continue in that industry they will have to get surgeries. Her eyes were the most iconic thing about her, eyes and eyebrows are the two most recognisable regions on a face. If she'd have gone more subtle so as not to totally change those two things, people would not have been so shocked

Yeah I feel like fillers in the face can really just make things worse. I’d rather just get a little filler in my lips so I can keep wearing my lipsticks! But facial fillers I feel like they do more harm than good in my opinion. I’m all for upkeep believe me but I’ve seen the effects on actors who over fill.

Filler in the face is really a hard gamble as it doesnt stay. I would be very cautious of filler in the upper lip as well, as it also spreads.

Thank you for mentioning the possible effects of fillers in the long run! It's not talked about enough, even doctors encourage fillers like it's nothing and goes away. But if even Jennifer's very young skin couldn't bounce back, it's something to think about.

i was just thinking about her the other day about how if you would have told me JLaw would be one of our most booked actresses of our time, i wouldn’t have believed it. nothing about the way she came up in the industry ever screamed “longevity” to me, but here we are. she was so naturally beautiful though, i think her changing her eyes and nose really take away how stunning she was, she gives me “mom on the way to her group hot yoga” vibes now.. very generic.

i was so surprised to see her 2023 photo, she look really different! amazing video Lorry, keep them coming.
the work she might've have done is so subtle and done mostly in such gradual process that i never would've guessed she had anything more than her nose done. i also have a very hooded eyes and i love how her stylists tended to do her eyeshadow for events so i'd spent quite some time back in the day looking at photos of her makeup for inspo, which is how it realized she her nose changed over the years. i hadn't noticed anything else until now that she has had such drastic change, i thought that perhaps she had lost a lot of weight after her baby so that was why her face looked much slimer, couldn't have had even told you when she got the cheek filler put in until now. i think it's the fact that she and eiza had kept their hooded eyes as long as they did that made me think like they had only had very little done, but this goes to say that subtle changes can make a huge difference.
Wow she really really timed these surgeries well. Like, i feel like all of these changes happened during times of growth, like when she was growing from younger to older/more mature. I really didnt notice any of these
