I never cared for the Han Solo solo movie because I feel as tho this character is complete, like he's a complete story arc throughout all the movies and we don't need a prequel story showing his origins. I think having the knowledge we already know + our own version of it in our mind is better than what anybody will make. I feel as tho these anthology movies would be better if they took place at another point in the Star Wars timeline. Like they could literally tell any story from a different time period, a time period away from the skywalker saga. I'd love to see something like that. Oh and I fold my socks by grabbing the top of one and folding it down on the other, so that way they stair together in a pair

I know right! Saw a video called "how star wars was saved in the edit", so I think we wouldn't have star wars as we know it today if it wasn't for her.
First, she only edited on A New Hope so original, not plural! 2nd, there were 2 other guys with her in the editing team! 3rd, I doubt removing and re-arranging couple of scenes "saved" Star Wars, what drew audience to it was the special effects not the simple story! And finally, George Lucas still approved everything, proof is that he fired the previous editor before the trio because he wasn't listening! And hey Dagoberto, you're like on every SW video spreading the same silly info, I hope you're getting paid for this!
The problem with Lucas is he is too creative. What made original trilogy better was he was surrounded by people who would question him. In prequels he was surrounded by yes men. That is the difference and it shows.
Sorry it was more than his wife who helped with the originals it was other film makers like Francis Ford Copella among many others who offered advice and he was willing to listen to them as he also was with the special effects people who did the CGI work that the haters hated and I get so sick of the CGI haters they'd rather have a rubber puppet they could make fun of. The thing is nothing that Lucas could have made would have made them happy. I get so sick and tired of these people attacking everything. Lucas made these movies and they're far better than anything that Disney could have made. The only one I have liked is Rogue One.

I personally like the pure unprecedented chaos of my sock/pants draw, for starters! Odd socks = conversion starter! Example: "Hey you! your socks are odd!" the slightly observant person said to me. And I feel no emotional attachment to the Han Solo spin off movie as I have trained my body to not have hype for any movie until I know it will be the worst movie ever or in the unlikely event of it being the best movie ever.
No one wants an already complete character ruined. The mysteriousness of han solo in the cantina is enough for his character.

comments posted boba fett actually makes sense as a standalone film. He's this bounty hunter that's feared all over the galaxy, but he's in the films for all of 20 minutes. We got to see his dad murdered in front of him, so I personally think it'd be interesting to see him go from a kid with little to no training as a bounty hunter to the guy we see in empire (and to a lesser degree, in RotJ). Plus, since he's not vital to the story before the final act of empire strikes back, there's a lot of freedom as to what he can do. He's also a fan favorite, and people have been dying for a bounty hunter spinoff as a film or as a video game (RIP StarWars 1313)

@Michael Jackson Well Lawrence Kasda, Richard Marquand and Ford all wanted to kill Han Solo.. also Marquand wanted to kill Lando and Wedge and even Luke .. but Lucas insisted that this being the final of the saga (at that point and for decades later he allways claimed that there wouldnt be episodes 7, 8 and 9.. that ROTJ was the end of the history because it was Anakin history) he wanted a happy ending and that there was allready the death of Anakin Skywalker (after turning back from Dark side).
the Ewoks his excuse was that they were suposed to be Wookies.. but then he realiced it wouldnt work because his idea for the final battle was to have the advanced tecnologically Empire beaten by some primitive race of determined warriors.. he realiced that he had portrayed Chewacca as an expert tecnician , competent pilot and allways using an advanced weapon (the bowcaster wich is a wookie weapon) so it wouldnt made sense to put Wookies as primitives.. he then decided to split them in half and change the word Wookie for Ewok..
Personally i think he fucked up the moment he decided that having the Empire fight a primitive race was much more important that showing Wookie warriors fighting the Empire.. wich would been an awesome closing chapter.

Why does this movie exist? Han Solo starts off as a selfish rogue and his character arc was him willing to fight for something bigger than himself. How are they going to include a good character arc for Han, without it feeling absurd that he immediately regresses back to being a morally ambiguous, selfish prick?

Money. Disney knows that even if the Star Wars fans absolutely HATE this movie and all the other ones they make...those same fans will still put their butts in the seats and pay full admission to see it.

That's a pessimistic thing to say, and the evidence doesn't back it. If Lucasfilm was just in it for the "money", why do you think they put so much effort into making sure they're on the same page with their directors, and making sure that the movies are being done just as good as they can get them. The reason Star Wars is so popular is because they genuinely care about the franchise, and they believe their story's are powerful and meaningful. You do realize like everyone in that company is passionate and excited to be there, right?

I want to see a Darth Vader anthology film. Why does Obi-Wan anthology have so much hype? I mean, I love the character, but we already got his life in episodes 1-3. What do we see in this film? Him sitting on Tatooine killing occasional Tuskens and watching over Luke. It just seems boring to me. Rather, i would rather see Vader's first day after surgery, his first day on the job, the building up of the Empire, his first impression of Emperor Palpatine, the construction of the Death Star, Star Destroyers, the Executioner, the Tie Advanced X1, his castle of Mustafar, etc. him hunting down the last Jedi, him exploring the old Jedi temple and finding the Sith holocrons, fighting Ashoka, reminiscing about Padme, his thoughts and emotions and how they play into his hatred. I would much rather see what happened to Vader for 20 years from the birth of the Empire to the Battle of Yavin than a desert hermit.
I would rather have an evil Jar Jar binks movie, where he turned out to be a bad ass sith lord. Maybe that would in someway rescue the prequels. Do not get me wrong i hated Jar Jar Binks especially in the Ep 1.

Firstly, I throw my socks in my draw loose and I have no shame.
Secondly, Lord and Miller were the only reason I had any faith in this Han Solo movie thing. They have a track record of taking ideas that seem like they won't work and making them work. I also kind of wanted these anthology movies to be their own thing to a degree, like maybe they fill in parts of the whole story like Rogue One but aren't necessarily in line with the other films in other ways. At the end of the day I don't give a shit though I just want good movies.
I don't get it why JJ didn't do all 3 films, at least the Continuity would have been much better and Snoke might have been more then just a wash. I hope Ron Howard does a good job but for the trailer I have a bad feeling about this.

The Average Gamer I agree they didn’t have to make this movie. Everyone in LucasFilm knows the character arc of Han and knows how complete it is, they aren’t ignorant. They aren’t trying to complete Hans character by telling an unknown story of his life, they are doing it for a different reason that none of us will really know. We can’t complain about it either , it’s happening so just let it be.
Sia Plague well thats the point. Why is disney making a han solo film when he was a character featured in much detail in the OT? Why cant they make a movie about boba fett or darth maul, two characters that basically had no lines in the movies. There is so much potential in making movies for these two characters because their early life, traits, and backgrounds arent very well known to casual fans.

Y’know the one where we meet a young Han Solo, as a little five year old kid runnin around that ship at the end of ROTS, or walk up to the two babies, and have like Obi-Wan or Jimmy Smitz say, “Young Han Solo, meet baby Luke and Leia.” and have him shake their little baby hands? It would be like Han lived on that ship or whatever, or shoe-horn him in somewhere else. You’d think the toy of a young Han Solo would sell like hot cakes.

I could get behind a Boba Fett Film. We know very little about him other than what you can read about him. his Mandalorian armor is what gave him that BAD ASS look and feel. Was always something about Boba that is worthy of a film.. There is a fan Fiction Boba Trailer, looked good for fan fiction. Obi-Wan film.. maybe, As long as they do not tarnish his honor and all around charm. If Rey is the daughter of Obi-wan then I could see more interest. As it could help take away her whole Mary sue like talents.

indeed! Leave it alone, and get to something new! I can say this about my generation, yeah I am old.. But everything that came out was new and fresh, was not remakes of all the things I grew up with. They want to capture lighting in a bottle. It won't happen again. Old guys like me tend to ramble.. so I will stop now.. Hence I thumbed you up.
Agreed Ty, it's not like they don't have people coming up with original ideas, Get Out, It Follows, Wonder Woman, GOTG. All very original scripts, even if they are takes on old source material that's not a big deal. As long as they take some time to craft a story someone really wants to tell. Say what you will about Lucas, at least he tried to write something original with TPM, he failed miserably, but he tried. Then he just fell back on callbacks and ripping off his own creation for the other two preqs. Hollywood needs to stop aping off of the success of second rate movie makers like the Bay's and Shymalan's; and start looking to some of these independent content creators for new ideas. I'll always love star wars and star trek, but they need to go away for awhile to give someone a chance to craft a well written story. If history has proven one thing it's that the fandom has a much longer memory and loyalty for the series than the studios give us credit for. This one movie a year so people won't forget the franchise exists idea is an insult.

Because it doesn't matter why he carries a particular weapon, what the specifics of winning the Falcon are, or whether or not Chewie has a life debt with Han because he saved his life, or freed him from slavery. There's a reason back stories are brief, they are flavor to add to the character. It can enhance the person, but it's not why people enjoyed the character. Like salt on popcorn, but you don't order a bucket of salt when you go to the movies do you? And who said movies (plural) we are talking about this one in particular. I liked Rouge One, hated the prequels, and don't see that a meta Han Solo star wars story as anything but cashing in on a brand name. No one is saying you can't like your fill in every conceivable gap pandering movie, but please don't be that guy that says if you don't like everything that has SW in the title you should just go peddle your papers. And here's the real deal. People like ideas and hate ideas, it's not a character flaw just because you don't hold the same opinion ace.

@@runthejudes Anthony Ingruber is an actor, he played in "the age of adeline" as well as voice acted in some other things. He would have done a fantastic job as solo because he already played a young version of Harrison Ford probably because he actually looks kinda like him.
I agree that Anthony Ingruber is too much of an impressionist, but I didn't care for Alden Ericuehfehfbwuyehf either. It's just really difficult capturing that Harrison Ford look/charisma without making it seem forced.

Disney has a flop ,so they blame the directors for their ill decision to create a PREQUEL , of an iconic character that is iconic because of Harrison Ford being a national treasure. This movie was destined for FLOP.
Your "national treasure" despised doing Solo and wanted the character dead in Ep V. He also grew to hate SW. I liked Ford as Indy but really if his attitude was different about SW I might care more about him as Han.

I tried going with loose socks in the sock drawer, after buying 6 new pairs of white socks and 6 new pairs of black socks. It didn't turn out very well...
I don't like the fact that folding one sock over the other so they make a big ball ultimately ends up stretching out the elastic at the top of the tube socks, so eventually they are baggy at the top and fall down to your ankles. I've thought about getting clips to hold the socks together, but it just seems like an awful lot of additional effort for socks.
Ultimately, though, folding socks together not only keeps socks pattern-matched, but also, if you're careful, wear-matched as well. You can keep socks that both are getting near worn-out together while keeping newer socks separate from those ready to sprout holes. Thus you can eliminate pairs of socks evenly, thereby reducing instances of single-sock-syndrome (SSS).

Ron Howard learned mythology in movies from GL, who learned it from Joseph Campbell. He exercised this in, "Willow," a great example of mythological storytelling. I expect him to do a great job wrapping up the project.

I'm just curious why Lucasfilm doesn't want to announce the third anthology film yet. Is it a spoiler for the sequel trilogy? Are they actually torn between Obi-wan and Boba Fett?? Because it shouldn't too difficult at this point which solo film we actually wanna see, Lucasfilm. I mean, Ewan McGregor is clearly game --- FANS ARE CLEARLY GAME TO SEE IT!! Boba Fett movie would be a horrible idea, his character was already ruined by George Lucas by revealing he was a clone.
If they want to appease fans without disrupting timeline and canon of their saga or Rebels then most likely they will have to go with Boba Fett. Though, they have dropped little hints about Obi-Wan's going ons during the interim time, so it seems like they are definitely considering it.
They didn't announce it yet because it's still three years away. We got the announcement for Han Solo in July three years out, so maybe it'll come in a few weeks. Although, we didn't learn what Rogue One was until less than two years away, so they could still wait several more months to announce it and it not be weird.
We already know what Obi Wan does from Rebels and the comics. He is exiled in Tatooine. Who wants to see an old fart wasting away in a desert?

The movie is about the Millennium Falcon doing the Kessel run, but Han Solo isn't piloting or even on the ship. he steals the ship to start smuggling, the original pilot will be a female. How do I know this? It's what the SJW fans want.

As a Star Wars fan I didnt watch this movie in the cinema. I always make up my own mind about movies however I was swayed by the hammering this movie got. I was drunk one evening and gave in to my inebriation and rented it. I fell asleep and missed the movie however the following day nursing a banging head decided to sit through it. I actually really enjoyed it and have purchased it since. Granted unusual story lines crammed together but an over all enjoyable movie. I did just watch it and didnt think too much about it being Han Solo (strange thing to say given the title). Overall a well shot and presented movie.
