Hi everyone and welcome back to a Lukeovision video!
How exciting, Eurovision 2023 is upon us and so is national final season - I want to welcome you to a brand new series on this channel where we have a look at the National Finals of competing countries of ESC 2023.
This could come in the form of tops, bulk reactions, singular reactions, reviews or covers.
In today's video, I am having a look at one of my absolute favourite National Selections, MGP from NORWAY!
Now, this is a video based from the LIVE FINAL, and I know this song wasn't competing... However it was a performance from the final and an act from the 2022 competition. It's the moment we've all been waiting for...

It was no surprise for us Norwegians cause we more or less knew it right after the song waa released. Both Gaute and Ben have such distinctive voices that it was impossible for them to try and fool us 😁
and indeed is a "worst kept" secret. They also had cars registered to them in the Eurovision parking
Even if I don't know either of them I still grinned like an idiot through the whole performance

Eurovision isn't about Winning its about Entertaining the Audience, Something Subwoolfer did from Day 1. Long Live Subwoolfer.
I was hoping it was two random dudes they found in the Pub.
I literally had goosebumps all over me when this revelation happened live. I am a diehard Subwoolfer fan as well all the way from the Philippines. I was sad Ulrikke did not win but relieved by the face reveal of Ben & Gaute.
Subwoolfer will continue, they have a lot of plans they said 😊
This reveal was just so charming. I loved them and their song last year. It was iconic in every way as a song, as a band and as a brand, loved their marketing last year, it was hilarious and great how they were indirectly promoting other artists while promoting themselves I loved seeing all of the artists dancing to their ESC. I loved the performances. I was actually kinda surprised that Ben Adams is actually in the band because I thought it was just a silly rumour but it was true. But I am shocked that many of the rumours were actually correct. I loved how they did the reveal and the performance was great. It is crazy that we know who they actually are now. Obviously the name of the song did give away that they were going to reveal their faces and they did it really well. I hope that they continue to make great bangers after this even though we know who they are. I also love that you are into bit and as well, it is great to see someone who is not a teen girl who is into a group of this type. Loved this vid, can’t wait for more.
This was easily the best part of last night.

I _loved_ watching their antics during the Finals. They were like a pair of Insane Muppets let loose on Eurovision. It was _hillarious._ It was _Glorious._
It brought Joy to a very Tense and Somber year.
I'm still quite suprised they decided to do this THIS early. I know a lot of us knew who they were but an official confirmation is HUGE and the way they did it was EPIC. They look like they love it!

This was auch a hype and one of the best parts of the final yesterday!
This is what's keeping me alive after the reveal of the winner (I'm sorry guys, I don't like her song). As a Norwegian I already recognised their voices as Ben and Gaute last year, as everyone else did. But seeing them make a whole song and performance based on their reveal and actually took off their masks was still out of this world, I was glued to the screen screaming. For those in Norway who knows both of them very well I think this performance has gone into the mgp history books as one of the most memorable performances made. Thank you for the year of pure culture you brought Subwoolfer, for once I truly cheered for my country's participant

Nope. Apparently DJ Astronaut was Gaute. Because (1) Gaute is crap at dancing; and (2) It's damn hard to perform that dance while simultaneously singing. But singing while in the DJ Astronaut outfit isn't nearly so tough.
Got this from a 30 minute "documentary" video up on the official ESC CZcams channel.
To be honest, I was completely expecting them to be previously unknown people.
Lewis was so underwhelmed with this. He had no clue who either of them were! I hope this is not the end of their wolfy partnership 😔 And I hope they tell us who DJ Astronaut is 🚀👨🚀

Lol as a Norwegian who grew up with these artists during the 2000’s, just because foreigners and none Norwegians or even non Scandinavians doesn’t know who they are, has no value to us. It’s always baffling to me how foreigners always things they are the ones to validate and approve songs/music/artists like that’s why countries makes anything, because it has to gain popularity outside it’s country’s borders or else it won’t be “popular” or have any “value”. Sick. Both where big artists when they where young, and since they are both 39-41 now, this is a new chapter for them, and Subwoofer will remain.
@gille87oritahiti my wee boy is 7! I don't know who he was expecting - he was so excited when the gloves came off - but he just shrugged and moved on because to a 7 year old, they were just 2 men. I know who Ben Adams is. I am not trying to invalidate Norway's artists or music scene? I am a huge fan of Subwoolfer and what they brought to Eurovision. And I still want to know who DJ Astronaut is.
Why is no one also asking the question, who is Luna Ferrari? The song Howling is my favorite & they should reveal her too.
They are still great, maskes or not😅 I kept insisting they were Ylvis, because of their humor😅 But now I can say that im a fan of Ben❤️🔥 and Gaute🔥 too. Hope you will react to mgp winner also, hug from BeateE

@@mari97216 I still think that Gaute and Bård have quite similar voices. Ben and Vegard not so much, but I just ignored it 😅 But yes: well spotted! Ben and Gaute are greate entertainers. Loved the whole concept and execution❤️🔥 They fooled me🥰
@@Be-Eva gaute doesn’t have similar voice to anyone Ive heard before. He has such a recognizable voice. He can easily do incredible high notes. You are entitled to your opinion though 😅.

I might be wrong, but considering how much trolling Subwoolfer has done as of yet, I still think it's a possibility it is Ylvis, and that the Gaute Ormaasen/Ben Adams mask reveal is just another prank. (Remember they did the same with Tix and the astronaut before it was disproven as they had been the same picture in other contexts)
I am not sure about Gaute and Ben's voices, I note some people think they sound alike. I personally am not convinced, but its autotuned anyway.. how can you recognize anyone at all through autotune? But I think the humor and style of Subwoofer is so close to Ylvis, while neither Ben or Gaute has ever done anything close to comedy at all... Gaute Ormåasen music is otherwise as different as you can be, and Ben Adams, well. Most famous from, um, A1, a boyband. Plus these two have no previous relationship at all. It just seem too weird if this is the case.
