I never thought about it that way thank you for explaining that out. Danai is so fkn talented man, she deserves to make more than AMC is. AMC has been in a battle to save money for shareholders and executives ruining their shows for so long.
Absolutely. Every actor screenwriter playwright needs to balance their artistic aspirations with finances. TWD honestly was a great gig and still is. But back its heyday it was a huge success with 18 million viewers so you don't want to miss that opportunity. MCU is a huge publicity gig you don't want to miss out on as well. You do those two and you can indulge in your other passions.
She is a pathetic BLM shill who is going to absolutely trash this show. We wanted a rick spin off. Not stunning and brave black girl rescuing weak prisoner white man. Go woke go broke. It's going to be pathetic with this idiot having anything to do with being in it, let alone writing it. Also you know way too much about her. I'd suggest putting that effort into something that matters. Not a rich black woman who claims she is a victim.
No matter her reasons for leaving, Danai put her ALL into Michonne until the very end. There's was never one single moment where I thought she was any other person on earth besides Michonne. She inhabited that character PERFECTLY. So damn ready to see her and Andy again on their new show.
Although she wasn't mentioned here, I feel like AMC screwed up when deciding to kill off Andrea. Her death was simply for shock value, but I feel like she could've done more if AMC kept her on longer.
Personally I didn’t like Andreas death either but lots of people seemed to dislike that character so I feel it was for the best. She did make a lot of bad decisions.
@@goldiekoi935 I agree. She never listened to good advice. Andrea felt that she didn't have to follow rules. She could've killed the governor many times but she didn't. Her death was her own fault.
I'm currently rewatching TWD and what I've noticed in her death episode and the episodes leading up to it is that there were so many things could've done for her not to die. Personally, I find the Governor somehow finding her at every turn way too convenient. And then I got really irritated that Milton wouldn't just crawl on the ground and get the pliers for her. I suppose the Milton thing isn't convenience because I've never been stabbed multiple times and don't know how much pain that would be, but if I was him, I'd do everything I can to drag my ass across that floor and give her the pliers directly. I got a little off track. Anyways. I do agree. I didn't like her death, but the Andrea in the show had a character assassination. She was very different in the show versus the comics, and I think Michonne just kinda slid into her place later on. Another thing I've noticed with S3 is that they did have so many opportunities to kill the governor and just didn't. When Merle and Daryl were forced to fight each other for entertainment, they had every opportunity to snipe the Governor down and didn't. Then Andrea could've killed him numerous times and didn't. Then Rick could've just shot him in a second when they were "negotiating". Just too many conveniences that kept the Governor alive the entire time.
Jesus being killed off after his character was totally wasted was a big turning point for me. The show had lost a lot of the big characters then went on to waste what good characters they had left. Replacing them with new, boring characters like Magda and her gang.
This show had so much potential when all of the OG characters started showing up around season 2-4 if they were able to keep a majority of those people alive or at least not hold onto useless characters, cough cough Tara. They might actually have had something to work with in the later seasons.
Eugene was also soooo useless the ENTIRE TIME! Afraid to do anything and just dead weight. These writers were dropped on their heads as children or something.
They kept introducing new character that you'd have a hard time bonding with while also killing off those characters that their audience kept growing to, mainly to "capitalize on the shock value". Beth is the prime example, who died in the dumbest way imaginable. But there's also Tyreese who was also lazily killed off after being developed quite well. Abraham was a great character but I get why Negan would choose him to die, but this made Glenns death so much worse. Enid was one of those later introduced characters that wasn't likeable for a while but eventually developed in a good way, but of course she also got killed off for shock value. Henry was the main character of season 8 and everything revolved about his romance with Alphas daughter and yet again he was killed to capitalize on "shock value". On the flipside you got all those new replacements you're expected to bond with now that the old cast was killed off like Terra, Rosita, Eugene, Siddiq, Magna and Yumiko, Connie and Kelly, Luke, Leah and Princess. This is way too much, of course some of them feel completely out of place. Originally the crew was realpy small up until season 5-6, but alas they kept introducing new people to replace the ones they discard. This is a horrible writing strategy if you ask me
@@dylanroemmele906 its true tho. he was getting "better" throughout the seasons but he never really had that convincing character moment that made me think "yeah, no one else could do this role..." and thats not the most important thing, saying the role cant be filled by just anyone, but its something a long running show should be considering so the later seasons wont have to kill off an important character. Chandler was ok for the first 2 seasons where he was a key priority due to how innocent and unready he was for the world, even before an apocalypse, all he had to do was cry and say dad and he was set. As the show progressed and he got more solo moments it became apparent the leaning on the "cry for dad" act had held back more potential for chandler himself to get better at his craft, not just the character. He was still a kid tho, so none of it really matters in the long run considering TWD set him up for future consideration in roles we dont even know of yet.

On top of Rick and Carl not appearing in later half of season 9, then 10. The main group for some reason stopped using guns, this took me out of it completely because all the conflicts they got into they could have easily tackled not even a season ago. Some could say they ran out of ammunition, but considering the amount of guns and ammunition there is in the USA this is unlikely. On top of that, Eugene knows how to make bullets so it really killed the atmosphere of the show for me - I could not take it seriously anymore.
You expect guns and ammo to be abundant after 12 years of being used against zombies and other people with little to no new ammo or guns being made? Yes Eugene knew how to make them but that takes a lot of resources and equipment. Keep in mind how well places like the commonwealth were armed, meaning weapons and ammo that the main group would have wanted to find had already been taken, and you can assume the commonwealth was taking the resources to make more as well with how freely they used ammo
I just seriously wonder, if it was so devastating to so many of the cast that chandler Riggs was being killed off how could they not fight that decision at all? Surely they could have done anything to even sway the show runners idea to kill him off :/
@@karengoldenthal2889 I understand that. AMC is a SINFULLY CHEAP! They CONTINUOUSLY bring in new cast instead of focusing on the storyline. (Super annoying, especially when we were waiting for a wrap up of the the show) Bad managing at AMC. But Chandler was not a strong actor. Definitely not strong enough to carry the show. So, the original story would have been better than where they went with it, had it been a better actor I would have thought the same, I was just all in all sick of Chandler. Not Carl.
Jesus seemed like the biggest underused character to me. The dude could single handidly kill a horde of zombies yet his only memorable scenes were his introduction and his death. The way he died was perfect but it was way too soon, and if they needed him to die at that time they should of used him more before his death. Everybody immediately liked his character, once people feel connected to a character they have so much possibility with it which they wasted. Yet they introduce a new group of connie, magna, yumiko, the musician dude, etc who are all still alive and get a bunch of screentime that nobody cares about.
Andrew Lincoln wanted to leave the show after season 4 all the way up until season 8. The cast and crew kept convincing him to stay. Jadis and the Scavengers were brought into the show mainly just to take Rick away. Also Georgie was only brought into the show for Lauren Cohan to leave. Both Georgie and the Scavengers were brought into season 8 just for those reasons 😂
The show was already dead by the time Carl died. The death of Andrea was the real big one back when the show still mattered. The Negan introduction then REALLY killed all momentum of the show and it never recovered the viewership it had previously.
I think each season, the show went downhill when kids get killed off and all that. I was glad to see Denise and Olivia got more time onscreen and then they took those two out. Plus, Henry's death was the last straw. Carol lost Sophia, the two sisters from the prison and then Henry. It is way too much for her.
AMC did Chandler Riggs wrong! I was so pissed because it’s supposed to become through Carl’s point!🤬😡After Lincoln left, I didn’t watch the rest of the seasons until now.

I think one of the biggest problems in the show was they never looked into any mass zombie, killing traps or anything. It was one scene and one instance where they rolled some logs down a hill and took out a whole group of them but they never did anything cool like that again really It's not hard to find a way to take out large groups of extremely slow moving zombies, especially when they have all that equipment available to them

I’m having a really hard time finishing season 11 on Netflix. I’ve been a huge fan for over 10 years. Seasons 1-6 is some of the best TV I’ve ever seen. Watched numerous times. Season 7-8 were bad. Season 9 was amazing. Season 10& 11 have been boring. Too many characters, too much stuff going on, the characters aren’t as interesting , all my favorites are gone, not enough focus on the l horror aspect ect. It’s actually been a struggle finishing this show. What a shame. Rick leaving & them killing off Carl were the 2 biggest blows to the show. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for these spin off shows but not getting my hopes up too high.
Carl was the end of the show. That's when I stopped watching. No one was left to carry the original story after that. What's the point of telling a story, if halfway through you're going to kill off all the characters we followed and replace them with new ones? You should have just told the story starting from the 2nd group of characters. All the ended up doing was having a revolving door of new characters that no one wanted to bond to because we knew they would die of for stupid reasons. At least Game of Thrones was smart enough to keep the core members of the original cast around.
I hope they reboot TWD one day with Frank Darabont on the project. I know they can't really use the same actors but they should reboot the show and follow the original show events perfectly maybe change a few deaths like Hershel maybe idk but then when it gets to All Out War they DONT kill Carl off and they make sure whoever plays Rick actually stays on the show. End it perfectly.
I feel like there are so many characters from the walking dead that died too early whether or not the actors left the show: Andrea, Beth, Carl, Dale, Enid, Tara, T-Dog, and I could name so many more, I feel like less thought was put into the deaths especially in later seasons and a lot of deaths were just used for shock factor and laziness
At the end of TWD, I wasn’t even sad or nostalgic because literally every main character that is important that is left alive is getting their own spin-off of some sort anyways, smh. I doesn’t even feel like the show is over.
I think I would have been more upset about Carl had the actor, Chandler Riggs, done a better job. He just wasn't a strong actor, he hadn't really grown from the beginning, he had a bit of a chip on his shoulders I could always feel. He always felt like he was reading a script rather than BEING the character. (Kind of like, he assumed his character was safe, so he didn't really have to try.) But, all in all, he just isn't a strong actor, Carl should have been cast to a much stronger actor. He was annoying, but I respected his character, but he sucked as Carl, and really held him back IMO.
I AGREE SO SO SO MUCH WITH THIS!! he wasn't a great actor and Carl (comic wise) was a really STRONG character to begin with. Chandler Riggs in my opinion doesn't bring anything to the table, Carl (in the series) didn't grow for me, he started to "grow" in the 8th season but it was really slow and not really important tbh, he was going to die anyways. for me he wasn't annoying cause he wasn't there lmao, he was like a ghost and really feel like he was the shadow from Rick and I get why but that's AMC fault i'm mad at the series cause Carl in the comics is such a great character, and it's really important through the entire series, but i don't get why they didn't try to accomplish that? The try to make importance to every single character, and i get why, but that doesn't make sense at all, why make an entire arc about Rosita trying to kill Negan? like, yes, it makes sense but they could still make an arc about Rosita but with the help of others with they OWN sense, like they really make weird choices with 7th-8th seasons, they really didn't what to do
There was also Kevin Carroll who played Virgil. He just... vanished after S11E8, and was never seen or mentioned again. I have no idea what happened there.
Nah. Judith and Negan made it special anyways. Whisperers were the scariest ones and both Maggie and Rick weren't a part of it. Daryl, Negan and Carol played it nicely. Honestly, didn't miss anybody during that time. About Andrew. Some people have no idea how psychologically exhausting is this type of acting that Andrew went through. Do you think that his realism was just an empty act?? Get it first that you have to force a lot of emotions on yourself and you can cause serious trauma to yourself. Andrew went grey in just few years. Now think about why so many actors etc ends up addicted and relying on other weird stuff.
Yes for me I was more interested in relationship of Negan and Judith then Daryl and Judith, not complaining though. When Negan saved Judith and Dog from winter storm in season 10 it felt heartwarming.
@@daddyshome275 Exactly. For me Judith to survive and her importance in this show was obvious since Laurie's death episode. From the scene when She helped Luke and the rest after Rick's disappearance, everything became interesting on a different level. They did it well.
My main problem is it just fell victim to what most long-running shows do. With 16 and THEN 24 episodes a season, it started to feel like a chore to watch..
100 percent, they make us fall in love with a show than fuck it all up by dragging out episodes for money grabs and we all keep watching because of the hope that it'll get as good as it was during seasons 1-6
Honestly I think they should've ended the story at season 8 or 9 with as much of the cast as possible. I know the comics keep going and they could've kept going in spin offs but I would've preferred if they had given the main show a proper ending focusing on its oldest characters instead of having it just keep going and losing all its most important characters along the way. They could've kept a spin off going and adapted more comic parts after that but they should've had a proper ending for the entire cast.
The biggest issue with the walking dead after some stupid writing decisions is season length. There are way too many filler episodes throughout the seasons, which don’t particularly add anything to character development or story progression. 10 episode seasons would have suited this show more in my opinion
I stopped watching after season 9, with Carl dead and Rick gone the show felt hollow.. It felt like a corpse of it's former self, and I tried getting into season 10 several times but just couldn't. I just barely started watching the show again this week, and I've managed to get through half the season so far, it's been decent, I like seeing more of Negan, but I feel really disconnected with everyone else's stories, and find myself not caring or feeling bored. Going to try and finish the entire series though, I'm hoping season 11 will be good.
Like any show based on a written material, when you make changes that are major you will get back lash and it changes the momentum of the show as well.

@zacharysheriff449 lol oh, you're one of them, Glenn's death was known from the start. His death, yes, did cause some noncomic fans to leave it wasn't the biggest, Carl's death was the biggest decline because it went off script, and by the time of his death there were a few good cherectures left from the comics, and when the future lead of the story is killed off it kinda kills the viewer ship. Rick was the final nail in the coffin, but I had been losing interest in the show for a while. It just started feeling.... Weird. By the time the final season was out, it seemed like all the original characters were gone, and we were left with a bunch of new characters, or newer characters that we either had no time to connect with, or they just weren't enough to fill the shoes of the ones who left. Like I said, even tho I think the show was going down hill already, it really felt like Rick shooting that last shot turned it into an avalanche. "I found em" BOOM *show crumbles, as flaming zombies walk off the edge, and everyone cries*
Andrew Lincoln brought his family to Atlanta but his kids got older and he wanted them to be in school I think so he wanted to be home more. I guess he didn't want to move to the states and have them in American schools or home school them.
“Michonne had no reason to stick around anymore.” Bro what do you mean? How about he son she had with Rick and Ricks daughter who she said was never going to leave behind? She had plenty of reason to not leave
I'm just hoping all roads in the spinoffs and FTWD connect back to Rick Grimes and the CRM in a grand crossover event. That would be the smartest thing to do to try and save this beautiful franchise they've run into the ground, right??? I'm probably gonna be left disappointed but one can dream right? Rick Grimes is The Walking Dead and his ending should close out this franchise. But we all know within 10 years we'll be following adult Judith in season 5 of "The Next Generation" lol.
All I think they wanted is to make the series as real as possible so that not everyone can survive like Glenn or people that had no training to kill but most of them learnt it from Rick and Shane
What's sad is you can tell Carl's death came from issues in real life with the show runners. Since Chandler Riggs parents bought a house close to the set after he signed a huge contract extension. That's what you had as leaders for the show at the time, fighting with a teenager like children.
I heard a rumour that they killed of Carl because Chandler Riggs turned 18 meaning he was entitled to a higher wage now that he was an adult. AMC did not want to renogogiate a higher salary so they cut him loose. The show had/has a long running issue with funding and people getting paid properly. (AMC was in multiple lawsuits during the run of the series.)
yk how hard would it be considering multi-verse theory exists, to make a spin off but fix the issues for example, if its an alternate timeline, we could get a future with carl, rick and even glenn. Imagine how different it would be if they actually killed negan edit: I would just like to have a show that would have given us carl as the main character after season 8.
Lincoln: I am leaving caus carl died, i have no meaning in my character anymore Diane: I am leaving caus carl died, i have no meaning in my character anymore Judith: am I a damn Joke to you ?!?!?!?

Her death was simply for shock value, but I feel like she could've done more if AMC kept her on longer.
yea that was the showrunners fault at the time. That's why im pretty sure he was fired and replaced with scott gimple.
I was so tired of Andrea at that point it made sense she died bc of the gov

This is a horrible writing strategy if you ask me
They killed Carl off because they didn't wanna pay him more for being a adult
To be paid like an adult, you have to have acting skill like an adult and Chandler lacked in acting and hurt Carl's character.

@@moneymonkeyman8280 no
@@dylanroemmele906 its true tho. he was getting "better" throughout the seasons but he never really had that convincing character moment that made me think "yeah, no one else could do this role..." and thats not the most important thing, saying the role cant be filled by just anyone, but its something a long running show should be considering so the later seasons wont have to kill off an important character.

As good as Negan is, it makes no sense that he is still around
I just seriously wonder, if it was so devastating to so many of the cast that chandler Riggs was being killed off how could they not fight that decision at all? Surely they could have done anything to even sway the show runners idea to kill him off :/
apparently they tried, and honestly if I were chandler I wouldn't want to stay after the showrunners did something like that even if it had worked
They could have recast Carl. I would have wanted him to stay had they done that

@@karengoldenthal2889 I understand that. AMC is a SINFULLY CHEAP! They CONTINUOUSLY bring in new cast instead of focusing on the storyline. (Super annoying, especially when we were waiting for a wrap up of the the show)
Bad managing at AMC.

For me Carl’s death was the last straw, too.
I've never seen TWD but gonna watch this vid in full, clean editing so far btw

I hope they reboot TWD one day with Frank Darabont on the project. I know they can't really use the same actors but they should reboot the show and follow the original show events perfectly maybe change a few deaths like Hershel maybe idk but then when it gets to All Out War they DONT kill Carl off and they make sure whoever plays Rick actually stays on the show. They should just do a faithful animated adaptation of the comics.

Scott Gimple's ability to gimp every show he touches is amazing. What's even more amazing is the fact that AMC hasn't fired his a**.
(Kind of like, he assumed his character was safe, so he didn't really have to try.)
But, all in all, he just isn't a strong actor, Carl should have been cast to a much stronger actor.
He was annoying, but I respected his character, but he sucked as Carl, and really held him back IMO.
I AGREE SO SO SO MUCH WITH THIS!! he wasn't a great actor and Carl (comic wise) was a really STRONG character to begin with. Chandler Riggs in my opinion doesn't bring anything to the table, Carl (in the series) didn't grow for me, he started to "grow" in the 8th season but it was really slow and not really important tbh, he was going to die anyways. for me he wasn't annoying cause he wasn't there lmao, he was like a ghost and really feel like he was the shadow from Rick and I get why but that's AMC fault
i'm mad at the series cause Carl in the comics is such a great character, and it's really important through the entire series, but i don't get why they didn't try to accomplish that?

My main problem is it just fell victim to what most long-running shows do. With 16 and THEN 24 episodes a season, it started to feel like a chore to watch..
With most of the arcs in TWD they easily could’ve done 8 episode seasons. So much time is spent dicking around and talking.
100 percent, they make us fall in love with a show than fuck it all up by dragging out episodes for money grabs and we all keep watching because of the hope that it'll get as good as it was during seasons 1-6
I wish I could go back in time to fix the show before it turned into this.
Im really curious to see Rick’s reaction to finding out about the whispers i hope Michonne brings it up in future conversation.
Going to try and finish the entire series though, I'm hoping season 11 will be good.
it would’ve been cool to see how dales character would’ve changed in the seasons moving forward

If they kept Shane alive he could have came back to fight Carl for Judith, kinda like carls coming of age.
Carl was killed off due to disagreement with the show runners, Lincoln left as a result of the treatment of Carl...
