Rick has 3 main things with which he becomes a monster:
Long beard - strength
Murder jacket - madness
Red machete - bloodlust.
And all three things must be with Rick at the same time. For example, in the season 6 finale, Rick was wearing a jacket, but without a long beard. Therefore, Negan was able to defeat him. I also noticed that in season 5 bearded Rick thought strategically. He always had a plan.

This is why TWD is one of the best series of all time. Even objects like the machete, Rick's hat, the orange backpack, etc, are characters in and of themselves. No other show does that.

The scene with Tyreese closing the door at 0:15 still makes me chuckle a bit tbh. I remember watching it on FoxTV, and getting a bit distracted from the story after seeing that part. He's like making a silent "mkaay I'm out nothing to see here" thing with the way he closes it. Anyway, it's nice TWD is incorporating stories not just in the characters but also to the things they interact with.

Great video! I loved the Red Machette web series and imo it’s really good and underrated. My favorite part is the transition of Joe pulling a pistol out of his bag under the full moon, and a sorta comic book style shot of him getting his throat bit under that very same moon 💀
I love that not only is the red Machette such an iconic weapon in TWDU, but it also has its own lore and a really good web series as well.

@valex he's going to be returning in the spin-off shows, which will be a continuation of TWD timeline.
@valex to be honest I know that he will be in the Rick and michonne show, but as far as the Daryl and negan and Maggie shows I sure hope that he shows up in those, that would be awesome. The more spin offs the better lol.

The reason they probably didn't cut the dad's arm off was because they didn't know it could help. They probably just think that "well I'm bit, that's it for me, no saving me now."

I like to think the person who picked up the Machete was Rick when he escaped from the crm but he would drop it when running from crm forces. This would lead it to be confiscated by the crm. Maybe one of the episodes of the Rick and michonne spin-off would show him acquire the machete once again when he escapes the crm again

I like the way he calmly says "that's what I'm gonna use to kill you" when he's tied up, it shows that the enemy thinks he's just talking nonsense because he's tied up but that sentance right there shows how rick, even when odds are against him, will always have an escape route. I thought that scene was so cool and the actor put so much emphasis on that line showing Rick's personality. 10/10 scene it's beautiful

I always hated when Rick moved to the "Savior era" hatchet over his machete. Good to know the weapon had more significance than just the fifth season when Rick wielded it.
I believe that Michonne was the one who picked up the Red machete, Mainly because I thought that the Jeans were the same Jeans Michonne always wore, they look Identical and plus who better to pick it up none other than Michonne who was with Rick in his Prime (season 5). This is just my theory but I think it could be correct and plus like you said Scott Gimple did tease "Red Machete Rick" So he could be teasing that Michonne will finally get to Rick and She gives him His Machete.

It's almost the same as the machete. Rick gets it from Louis I believe, the Claimer on the toilet after killing him and escaping through the window.

Interesting series and really interesting story this 1 weapon has. Kinda wish it would’ve stayed with Rick though tbh, and they get it back somehow after defeating the saviors, and they then they never should’ve killed off Carl and then if Rick still would’ve had to leave Carl then would’ve gotten it, along with Rick’s revolver. Missed opportunity. Really great great video though and God bless you for all you do and all those who read this!!!!!

I loved the idea a following a weapon through time as it changes owners, as if its actually a character itself, BUT...the idea that the red machete somehow mad it back to its old owner is a bridge too far. For one, it seem like the distances don't rally line up and the girl is somehow still the same age after several years. They lost me with that one.
I don’t think after joe put the machete in his bag and grabbed a gun, he went to kill Rick. For one, his hair was longer than when he’s holding Rick at gunpoint, and two, the gun he holds to ricks head is a semi automatic pistol. The one he grabbed from the back looked to be smaller, and I could be wrong but looked to me to be a stubby barrel revolver.
Edit: yes, that’s where Rick got the machete, same duffel bag and everything, but I don’t think that was the exact moment he went to hold him at gunpoint.
Well in the webisode right after he puts the machete in the bag it cuts to rick biting Joes throat out.
