Nunez, Diaz and jota’s assists and goals numbers are the biggest proof how much we need Salah, he is the definition of consistency not to mention the amount of chances he created to all of them but they couldn’t finish it, what we really need is someone creative midfielder to not lose those games were we keep passing side ways and a proper 6 like Rodri who can defend and score then our team would be a dream team

I think this is Michael Edwards way of ensuring we have max bargaining power if a club does come to the table. Also, you don't want an exodus of top players out the door after Klopp. It will be hard to attract top targets if it looks like everyone is fleeing a sinking ship. Its a proactive move.

He's a top goal scorer and a playmaker albeit a selfish one .... we're talking about his dip in the form because Liverpool are not scoring goals at the moment....there are Nunez and Diaz and jota ....none of them have the consistency and regularity of appearance as salah .... it's just few weeks of slump in form and now he's being put to sword.... remember almost any other winger in the premier having a best season is like Salah's mild performance of a season....his numbers even this year is not so bad

I love Mo Salah as much as the next person, it's time though, 12 months left on contract, cash in from a Saudi club, yes, he's been immense this season, 41 apps - 23 goals - 12 assists, but realistically it's likely to decline than rise & we risk losing him on a free, we're already in a semi rebuild anyway, the midfield got overhauled last summer, the defense is an area that needs doing this summer, center halves in particular, the money from Mo can be invested in a proper left footed replacement.
Not a popular opinion, but whenever we go with sentiment it doesn't end well, Gerrard, Klopp etc. logical plan is best, not thinking short term but reloading for the medium to long term success.

Having said that this year in the premiership he has scored 12 non penalty goals, two ahead of Nunez whom everyone seemingly wants to get rid of.
For me I don’t want Salah to go the way of Hendo. Regardless of the LGB stuff, because Hendo stayed too long a bunch of his legacy had gone. If the a great plan to extract as much money out of the Saudis, then great, but fundamentally I feel his time has come and gone, he should go now and still be a legend.

I don’t understand why he’s playing like a traditional winger this season because he’s clearly not that. He’s the main man, and used to play with a swagger. We want him to put the likes of Ruben Dias, and Walker on their asses, and curl in a screamer and just take the chances. He just goes to the wing and crosses the ball now hoping Nunez accidentally finishes it off. He’s adapting his game to Nunez and that is hurting the team. His passes to Diaz have been phenomenal, but idk what happened. However this new way of playing has completely taken the X factor off his game.

He's scored goals, but not really offered much else for last two TWO years
It was always a trade off during this period, as he scored goals, but he's not getting any younger, so unless he's moving central under new manager, then it's only going in one direction

@@junioradult6219 my point is he’s still our best chance of scoring. I agree he’s probably on the downward part of his career now but I’m not sure I’d ship him off this summer. If one of the other forwards had stepped up I’d be more open to the idea, especially if we can get decent money for him. Unfortunately none of our current attackers seem up to the task (as much as I like their different qualities) so do we swap the one player that can get 20-30 goals a season for another “maybe?”
He’s out of form, as is the rest of the team but I believe he can still do a job for us and will probably be our top scorer again next season.

Salah said he wants to retire at Liverpool, yet fans don't like this loyalty. When Gerrard wanted a move to Chelsea the fans where crying about disloyalty same with Torres and Suarez but now they want to boot one of the best ever Liverpool players. The question is this, Salah is 31 and this season in what was meant to be a bad year at right wing he has far more goals than any other player in any of the top leagues. Who do you replace him with ? You need at least two players because apart from Palmer who has mainly penalties no one else whose younger comes anywhere close to Salah's numbers and everyone is forgetting the 10 assists he should have if the others didn't miss sitters, yes he has been out of form the last few months but he has had a major injury, VVD was bad for ages until he regained his confidence. People should be pointing at Gakpo and Diaz who are younger but are not showing their value at all. There needs to be a good rw player brought in so that it keeps Salah fresh throughout the season because there is no one who fills that gap effectively with g/a. Most of the forwards I watched growing up never tracked back, Shearer, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho etc and NO ONE criticized them even Henry. This new expectation of everyone is only good if they run after the ball and link the ball up compared to actual g/a is actually ridiculous. People where critical of Haaland its an absolute joke, a strikers and forwards main job is to score and assist and Salah's numbers are way above everyone else and His season average throughout his entire Liverpool career has been 28 goals a season and this season he is 4 behind that so yeah he has really regressed, these fans need to wake up. NO ONE is getting those numbers and its evident throughout World football right now.

Look at his goals. They are almost all just scrappy around the 6 or pens. His shot has been gone for a while now thats my biggest issue. On top of that hes lost his pace and his ability to beat players 1v1 95% of the time. His goals these days are like paul scholes goals were

Mo and Abbas will then get a huge signing on fee, rather than the Saudi money going under pikey John Henry's bed.
