Only time I’ve went to Pizza Hut in the last decade was for some stuffed crust & that’s once in a decade, crust was good, pizza was mid. Maybe sometime in 2023-2033 I’ll go to Pizza Hut again, doubt it tho

I talked to my dad about this stuff, since he was a kid around this time of government cheese and was from a low income household, apparently this shit was DELICIOUS!!! He said it's the best cheese he ever had, which makes sense considering it's cheese that was aged in a temperature controlled environment for decades. People literally spend hundreds of dollars for fancy cheese like this and these old fuckers were getting it for nearly free
Your pop wasn't lying. I was a poor kid in the late 80's/early 90's and we got that Government Cheese. Nothing since has ever tasted that heavenly or melted that beautifully. I was too young to fully understand at the time, but I do now. To this day, I measure all cheese to those glorious 5 pound blocks and they pale in comparison.
We will never have their like again.
My grandparents were able to get the cheese and peanut butter. They had some digestive issues, so they'd give the cheese away to members of the family. It made the best grilled cheese.
