I believe mold prevention is part of the reason they cover cheese wheels in wax casings.
storing it in cold dry air also helps, the cheese forms a hard rind
This is also super-processed cheese we are talking about, that is basically melted down, mixed with preservatives and remoulded creating that plastic-like American Cheese
Not exactly the same as american cheese but quite similar. From what my dad told me. Government cheese was similar to velveta and American cheese in a lot of ways. But it was apparently quite a lot better tasting.@@weldonwin
the M is a barn and the I is a silo. It's daily/farm themed.
I believe almost all of Ronald Reagan's ideas were very good for everyone. He was easily the best President in the last 100 years.
yeah, from the stand point of destroying the middle class.
@@adamskeans2515 You've got it absolutely backward. Leftism, Communism, Keynesianism all destroy the middle class AND the poor. It's a feature, not a bug.
What you mean, screw Reagan? The man gave away cheese. Free cheese for life? Thats a dream.
Heck he nearly did everything right in this situation. Definitely a better track record than Biden.
It must have been a cheese dream 🧀🐦.
@@retr0bits545 Yeah, imagine asking the people to decide what to do and how to govern themselves.
@@retr0bits545 Back when public servants were public servants
i respectfully disagree
If you want to avoid Lactose Intolerance you should keep up your cheese/dairy consumption. Milk is meant for babies, and as we age we stop producing the enzyme needed to process it. But if we don't stop consuming dairy after weening our body will maintain enzyme production to keep pace with consumption.
Hmmm. I like that. Works for me
I mean There's also Is meds that give you the enzymes. Is not very expensive either.@@AmericansLearn
not if you're of European stock. That was a huge mutation that helped them stay alive.
@@adamskeans2515 It's limitedly accurate. Essentially if you Consistently consume it your body will be more likely to continue producing lactace. But only to a limited extent. If your body is going to become lac toast intolerant, you might get an extra year or two
WAIT, we have a "Cheese Palace"!? As a Wisconsin person, I feel ashamed that I know of South Dakota's Corn Palace but not this.
There's a Mars Cheese Castle near the Illinois border
What does DMI logo look like to you?
City: Something perverted...
Rural: Oh it looks like my hometown!!
As someone else mentioned cheese wheels covered in wax help it last longer without mold, if you keep it in a cold enough area (as in colder than your average fridge aka freezing it) it will also slow down or just stop mold being grown. And then add in the fact the united states department of agriculture's website states that you can eat moldy cheese, if you can cut atleast 1 inch between the mold and the rest of the cheese.
4:30 So what I'm hearing is, is that your brother was to an extent the ice cream man
To an extent, yes
You do know that there is no such thing as 'your lane,' in America, this country was founded on the principle that anyone can become anything. Anyone can become the President of the United States without being a Career Politician, in fact Career Politicians fly in the face of the founding principles of this nation.
Very true, but with morons like AOC, yeah
And yet the Kennedy Family exists and are still one of the richest, most influential families in the US
The "M" is a dairy barn and the "I" is a grain silo to feed the cows from, pretty obvious...
I thought the M was like 2 cheese wedges pointing up.
And the D is a drop of Milk
Speaking of Reagan, Fat Electrician did another phenomenal video on the time the US obliterated half of Iran's navy in an 8-hour workday. You should check that out - I’m curious to hear your take on that event and his retelling of it.
You are way off on your Reagan rant.
You get a thumbs up from me. TFE is blowing up right now, and good for you for getting in on it.
He's hard to request, yt likes to delete the comments for his video requests.
Radioactive nacho cheese? That's going to give some amazing superpowers!
Water bending liquors nacho cheese…..NEW DND CHARACTER IDEA!!!
I don't disagree on Reagan, but man do i hate the phrase "stay in your lane", it feels so demeaning, like the opposite of the dream....
Screw your lane, if you think you can make a difference in politics or even just your local community, idc who you are or what your background is so long as you're intelligent, have good ideas, and are open to discussion. Sure you didn't mean it that way, but that phrase just always really rubs me the won't way.
So many amazing men and women in history would never have entered their names into the annals of time were it not for their desire to burst free of their 'lane'
Yanno, fair enough.
As an adult, i know that im not supposed to drink milk or eat much dairy. But also as an adult, i say fuck that noise, imma keep drinking and eating dairy lol
I can tolerate cheese just fine (thankfully) but milk is a huge no go and I don't even keep it in my house.
Once I take even the slightest hint of a sip, the desire to consume the entire jug is *STRONG.*
M = two mountains with doorways to the cheese caves.
14:49 The letter I is the DMI logo looks like a farm food silo. Also, all hail the Cheese Queen.
The irony of the woman trying to entertain saying Ronald Reagan had nothing but bad ideas.
Ikr how do people have such a negative attitude towards him?
In the 90s in the Navajo Reservation we signed up for government sanctioned food
Getting that cheese was the best part of the food package we would have about six months worth of cheese stashed away
That was the good stuff
You can skip ahead of his merch pitch, but stay for the grumblings after.
Also cheese doesn't grow mold ... cheese IS mold.
15:49 I think the M is supposed to be mountains, cause that's where a lot of bunkers were that horded all this cheese. And the I is supposed to be a grain silo representing the dairy farms making all this milk. Though, I'm not sure how much grain silos and dairy farms are connected, other than maybe they fed grain to the cows.
Oh Lord darling if you think our problems today started because of Ronald Fuckin Regan you're 50 years behind. Most of the problems today actually go back to Franklin Fuckin Roosevelt and his "New Deal."
Plenty of presidents since FDR have caused a fair score of problems themselves, Reagan being among the ones who caused the most.
The New Deal did cause some serious problems though, I will not deny that.
15:45 What, you don't like silos?
It's a shame that all that milk from the hard work of the farmers and cows was all made into American """{(cheese)}"""
American cheese is delicious
(6:20) Typically What happens is that they cuote it in wax to make an air tight seal.🤔
Actors & reality show host. Senators from Illinois & former vp did such a great job. Well great job for Ukraine & China & oh yeah great idea giving Iran billions.
Velveta, basically... the "government cheese" is that block of very oily yellow stuff that we use to make nachoes, mac n cheese, and other Way Too Much Preservative cheese meals.
It never really stuck me as being akin to velveeta. It was harder and much sharper. Perfect on sandwiches, not all that good on its own. We not only got the MRE cardboard wrapped blocks of cheese, we even had that all-metal piano-wire cheese cutter that cut the slices in the perfect thickness.
What they do is just make 300lb+ wheels of cheese. They'll occasionally (like every 5 years or so) take the wheels down, shave off any mold, then remelt it back into giant wheels again. That's why it lasts so long. You lose like 1% to mold per year, but it's cool since there's so much.
As a former Navy sailor, I can attest to this. Neopolitan is trash, but Mint Chocolate Chip was always a great treat. The Persian Gulf gets hot and yay ice cream.
Ice cream on navy ships is actually required by doctrine. And it's ahold over from the prohibition. And let's be real here. Of course, the sailors are going to be excited about the ice cream when they're out and Deployed ice cream is like one of the only pleasures that they really have on that ship
The i is missing an eye😉🐦.
(15:39) Yes it's a grain silo, city folk.
I'm actually impressed that the US decided to keep the milk in the form of cheese. In other countries they poured the milk down the drain to keep prices high enough for private farmers to stay in business, because God forbid that mere workers should get any nutrition at cost just because supply exceeded demand, like often happens in _markets._ It's that old conundrum that Marx explained, and that Steinbeck portrays an example of in _The Grapes Of Wrath,_ where people go hungry because the famers grew too much produce that wouldn't sell, so they destroyed the oranges rather than letting the malnourished Okies eat them. Specifically to make that thing happen that neoliberal/classical economists are obsessed with proving happens automatically, which is markets clearing to an equilibrium between total demand and total supply over all the transactions taking place. The market doesn't level to equilibrium, so millions of tons of cheese have to be stashed underground. Which would be useful if this was ancient Egypt and the Pharoah's minister Jacob had just had prophetic dreams about seven years of fat followed by seven years of famine, but no, it's just that capitalism is dumb and isn't there to provide for humans, especially not without massive waste and pollution. Of course, the other way you could engineer the equilibrium Von Mises and the like have wet dreams about, is to increase workers' pay and welfare payments to make sure all the supply get bought up, but that would make far too much sense and be far too righteous and Godly, so we can't have that kind of commieness. The imbalance must always be taken out of poor people's flesh, otherwise there might be harmony and joy and the shareholders won't tolerate that.
By the way, you keep looking down at the bottom left of our screens. Our faces are over here to your left, not down there.
Well i suggested we have shots, thats better than cave cheese! Jokes lol have you had british roule?
🎶I believe in Cheese's🎶😂🐦.
Mars Cheese Castle is awesome! Haven't been there in a while though.
You will not turn lactose intolerant from eating too much dairy... actually the inverse. The root for most lactose intolerance is that your body no longer has the enzymes to process dairy... normally because you starved them out. A person who is just lactose intolerant, not one with a serious stomach issue, can rebuild the enzymes with non-pasteurized yogurts and soft cheeses.
Drachinifel has a vid covering the ice cream ships of WW2. I think you'll find it interesting
depending on the cheese the mold can be bad yes, but on hard cheeses, like parmesian it doesnt even have to be refrigerated. and the mold actually doesnt penetrate into it to make it bad so just cut off the mold and a little of the cheese the reat is fine. *went to culinary school, and that is an FDA "fact"*
Isn't Ukraine's president a former actor? He even acted as a president in a political satire movie
Comedian specifically.
Well. Our current politicians are far less qualified than someone from the outside.
You must have gone to a private school because your school pizza sounds not bad. The pizza at my school... you could wring it out like a sponge to get rid of the grease, or it was so tough it could be used as roofing tiles.
The i is a dairy silo
Theres some passion. Love it!
The Nineties were the Wild West of the Modern Day!
The I in the DMI logo looks an awful lot like a pistol round. Atleast to me it does.
The most cheesy episode, love it.
I was in the Army in the 90s so I never saw these
My name is Cheyenne i am 8years old My dad which is Richard Pickett I love your video my dad loves it too. It’s quite cheesy.
How did your foot taste in your mouth?
And will you marry me? I love TFE. But I don’t swing that way. If I did, just off this vid I’d go for him, but you feel the same. Ahaha. Seriously though. If you want the best medium. Cheddar cheese, go get ya some Brandon cheddar. From a small town on thenn bb Oregon coast, about 20 miles from where I grew up, the only better cheese on earth is Vermont, sharp white cheddar.
Liberals make me cringe 🙄 Ronald Reagan is a top 10 US president, and the best in modern US history.
You learned history wrong, try again!
Question for you all.
What is your favorite kind of CHEESE 🧀
#AMERICANCHEESE
I kinda like spicy cheeses tbh,
yeah...because every Democrat Pres up to that point did an amazing job. like get our embassy in Iran over run, with prisoners that spent more than a year in captivity barely being kept alive. Reagan fixed economic problems for the time, they just didn't last for 40 years. LOL Also, maybe let the video roll, before going on a political rant about stuff you know nothing or little to nothing about.
I was ready to like this video and subscribe cause of one of your other reactions to the Fat Electrician. Till you went political. Then you lost me. Stopped the video, leaving this comment and moving on to someone else. Good luck to ya.
