Jimmy Carr is one of the most under appreciated comedians. 8 out of 10 cats is both hilarious and insightful at times. Randomly found it years ago in CZcams recommended and it’s pretty obvious with Jimmy as host he carried the entire show(he is host of more than one) then they made him the focal point. at first I thought weird British humor, but the dude genuinely makes me laugh out loud.

As an American, its nice to hear praise about the place I grew up in and shaped me into the person I am today. As opposed to the constant hate and calling attention to our flaws that we usually get from within and foreign celebrities.

That's because all Americans tend to go on about is how great they think the place is, usually without having the first clue about the world. It's a superiority complex born out of ignorance that annoys people who know better. I've been to the US twice and I hated it, I could never live there although there were some things I liked and in general the people weren't as arrogant as I was expecting. One important thing to note is that the collapse of the Roman Empire wasn't this big dramatic event that happened overnight and the next morning it was like a medieval Mad Max. In reality, the collapse was a very slow, gradual process that took place over decades. Rome slowly lost more and more power, while its outlying territories became more and more independent, until it just made more sense to declare themselves their own kingdoms outright.

There isn't anyone who can do that today because the system has been rigged against the people. Wall street and big corporations are looking to make this a nation of renters and are well under way. Company towns are coming back, where corporations own the housing you live in and you work for them as well. It's only going to get worse as it has for the last 20+ years. They insulted us, humiliated us, scattered us, but united, we were stronger. We across Europe still hold Rome and it's empire with nostalgia and reverence though. If it wasn't for Rome, there would have been no great French, German, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese or British Empires. The specture of Rome, the fear they put in the world that there might be some distant "great power" that might just sweep in and take over, absolutely escalated a desire recreate this pre-emptive strength and breadth.

I am from a terrible shit town in England and I don’t want to see your country ruined like mine.
Ps. The idea that there is no crime in Portugal is hilarious. Girls are scared to take an uber in Portimao because they are getting sexually abused by foreigners every week. Don’t believe me. Speak to your friends there.
And yes, there are people lying around on the floor taking drugs, your alcoholism is very high, as is smoking in general and suicide rates are not good. Hardly a shining example of liberalism. As I explained, you are the test dummy for western europe and america. At least don’t be proud of it.

These are comforting words! Exactly what I have been thinking ever since I set foot in the US for the first time in 2006. Coming from Eastern Europe at the age of 20, I felt like anything is possible. It is not perfect and I have learned that throughout the years, but I have also learned a lot about many other systems around the world. I studied master in Germany 2015/16, moved back to Eastern Europe, supposedly for a year to work online and spend time with family, Cofid hit and the stay was prolonged. Now it is about time to move back to the US and I can not wait. Europe is so much more difficult in so many aspects. It is more expensive, it is confining and claustrophobic, and all other kinds of phobic. America truly is the land of the free and the brave.
