Shoving and punching as well as biting are not the same. It also doesn't matter what she seen as a child; doesn't excuse physically abusing another human being.
She is abusive; period. I don't care about her father or her mother. This often happens when women are caught being the perps; they had a bad childhood. So many of us had bad childhoods where abuse was rampant yet we don't abuse others. Plus, her job is to be narcassitic; she is entitled and to be worshipped.

The way Emma was "crying into Evans arms" (I'd say it was more crying AT him) gave me chills - looked exactly like my partner after our most serious domestic abuse incident and honestly the footage unsettled me. It looks like a type of love-bombing and a common part of the cycle of abuse - they hurt you and then overwhelm you with pleadings, I love you's, self-deprecation, "remorse", etc. to keep you, and then before long, it's back to hurting you.

To be honest, those bruises on Emma look NOTHING like the kind of marks a man with size and strength like Evan would inflict if he was truly abusing her. I’m constantly bruised like that especially on my legs because I’m clumsy and naturally just bruise like a peach. So being punched or hit physically, that’s a WHOLE different kind of bruising. She seems like the type to even hit herself or run into things out of anger. That’s not an insult, just an observation based on a lot of experience with mental health.

Coming from someone who was in an abusive relationship for 2-3 years and it took me so long to be done with it. I’m glad I left.
So tired of the bruises , bite marks , being thrown around, and spat on. it got to the point where he had put a blade up to my neck and was threatening to kill me. He was arrested for domestic abuse 3 times and two of the times I didn’t wanna press charges but there were witnesses and the cops pressed charges themselves bc they had enough evidence (a stranger that lived in an apartment building next to us heard me screaming for help outside and started recording us to show the cops, he also called the cops as well . It takes a lot of strength to leave an abusive relationship , my heart goes out to anyone who has been in one or is in one. Also I don’t like the term of “mutual abuse” tho…abuse shouldn’t ever be looked at as a “mutual” thing.

Those bruises remind me of all the times I fell to the ground when I was a child. In addition, she worked on sets, sometimes the actors have to record action scenes, where it is typical to leave with bruises. Honestly, I think if Evan had done something to her, her injuries would look much worse, after all, he's bigger than her and has big hands, hardly anything he'd done to her would match little bruises.

I hate the term "mutually abusive" is there no such thing as defending yourself anymore? Hitting someone back after they've abused you isn't abuse, it's defending yourself and the other person deserves it. Don't want to be hit, don't hit other people.

@@kelleylmiller it’s either reactive abuse or abuse. Mutual mean equal- abuse is not a product of equals. I’m not here to dismiss anything but to inform. That term was made by ppl to dismiss and deny victims of abuse who defended themselves. There are complicated situations but it can never be equal bc that’s simply not what abuse is about. Abuse cannot work if the two people are equal.

Mutual abuse is different from self defence. It is when both couples participate in the emotional, verbal or physical abuse. One person may be the primary instigator but it is fundementally different from self defence in that the behaviours are abusive, not defensive. Self defence can result in injury, but the intent is not to injure but to prevent something more serious from happening. Self defense is about descalation, whereas mutual abuse escalates. ♡

I think another great lesson to learn from all this is that when you're in a relationship like this you're tied to them forever in some kind of way- wether it's through love, trauma, other's perspectives, whatever it may be, but that person becomes a part of your life forever regardless of how long you're with them. It's hard to let people go but don't let these kind of relationships go on longer than they need to🖤

You never know she could have been bruised being restrained while she’s hitting him, dropping to her knees, throwing herself around dramatically, hitting herself even. I’ve done it. I’ve punched things threw things just going nuts. If she’s like I was in my teenage years, a tiny ball of rage, he may have never hit her. And yet of course there’s a possibility he has.

Next week when the other person is angry and they are then abusive and the entire relationship is trying to get one up on each other, constantly acting out of line it’s not a sole abuser. It’s mutual that neither is trying to find the solution learn and grow to not harm each other.
Until you’ve been there you wouldn’t know. But if one person is always the one starting the violence and the other one fights back maybe. But that was not the case in my relationship and many others I’ve seen. I hear you, but it doesn’t apply on the comment you responded to.
