Testing the Ruger Max 9 against my Glock 19

- The Ruger Max 9 was recently added to the CA roster. After checking Ruger’s site, I was excited to hear all their models come optics-ready. Unfortunately, the CA complaint is not. After testing it at @northcountyshootingcenter , I can say the micro compact pistol is reliable and a great shooter. However, comparing it with my Glock 19 with a red dot, I was faster and more accurate. I like the Max 9 but not enough to add it to my EDC rotation. #rugermax9 #northcountyshootingcenter #glock19 #arcdivision #holosun508t
I guess the optic had nothing to do with it.
Optic helps out a lot. Yesirrr. The ruger was a rental so I can't do a fair comparison.
After checking Honda's site, i was expecting the regular Civic EX to have a type R engine but unfortunately it did not. It did ok around willow springs racetrack but not compared to my Honda Civic type R with a Type R Engine which was way faster around the track and better handling.... I like the Civic EX but not enough to add to my car collection...
Damn brother, good grouping at the end of the video!
thank you. just trying to get my reps in to get a little better each week. really appreciate the encouragement. started shooting about 2 years ago and haven't had formal training. youtube university has been a good source for learning grip, stance, etc. 🤜🤛
Great groups
red dots makes groups great again =)
I own the max 9, and I rented a Glock 19 the same day. Personally I thought they kick about the same, surprised the bigger 19 didn’t have less kick. How did it go for you?
The bigger Glock 19 has less muzzle flip and has more gun to grip. Glock 19 shoots a lot better but Max9 is more concealable.
Once you get as much time in with the max, and put the same red dot on. Youll be impressed.
i agree. thanks for the encouragement. since the p365 was just added to the CA roster and it comes optic ready, i might go that route. Unless ruger sells an optics ready slide at a low cost, i'm really bummed the CA version does not come already milled to accept red dots.
even tho the ruger is a 3.2 inch barrel vs glock 4 inch barrel, how is the ruger holding up?
The Ruger Max9 was a rental. This video was an initial experience shooting it for the first time. I own a glock 19, glock 17, cz75 sp01, and cz75 tactical sport. One takeaway I can clearly say is barrel length matters. less muzzle flip, quicker to get follow up shots.
@@hai.d.nguyen thanks for info. Any of those mentioned that you favor over the others?
@@forreststump11 i don't think any gun owner can say they have a favorite gun 😁. each serves a different purpose. micro pistols are great for EDC. glock 19 is good all-around-do-it-all. glock 17 is a range-shooter and home defense. sp01 is rigged for USPSA carry optics division. still building the cz75 TS for USPSA open division (minor). How about your collection? What's your favorite?
@@hai.d.nguyen my fav is not a pistol. It's the 870 mag. It has put alot of food on the table. lol
@@forreststump11 👏🏻😂👏🏻😂
Is not a fair compare for the iron sign again red dot.
Agree but considering the California Roster version is not optics ready, I don't think I want to purchase the Max 9 since I can't shoot it very well with irons. Planning to get the hellcat since the CA version will be optics ready. Will probably post the video on it next month.
How about comparing apples to apples??
Send me the apples and I’ll compare them. 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Galloway trigger on the max
Unfortunately, the awesome galloway trigger wil not work on the California MAX-9 version due to the magazine disconnect plate.
@@hai.d.nguyenGalloway Precision now makes one that does.
