It really is fascinating how mark can somehow make the game so hard on himself for basically never drawing squirrel cards. Yet he won the boss on his second attempt

i mean the boss isnt too hard to be honest... just dont fill your board before you drain his first hp bar... he wont clog your side with gold if its not full of creatures

I thought people were joking when they said Mark never picked up squirrels while complaining about card costs. Its not even like he forgot, he hovered over squirrels every turn.
I'll give him the benifit of the doubt he was just curious about what his whole deck is, rather than picking a boring squirrel. Otherwise, if he ignore the rules *that* much shows he didn't respect/enjoy the game at all.

Same. He grew on me a lot after spending a lot of time playing this game. I even painted some of the cards in real life myself. Great game, great atmospher, leshy is the best!

Exactly!! It's when you realize leshy's true intentions. Not to kill you, but to make sure you have a good time. It's easy to see when the scale gets deleted, and he states that they don't have to keep score. He just wants the player to have fun.

for anyone wondering. its because the challenger dealt more damage than the host did every round assuming they chump blocked with squirrels, which they would be able to do until they won
the game assumes a certain degree of competence and resources. it is entirely possible to lose after he offers surrender because you dont have the resources the game assumes you do

honestly I'm just glad Mark enjoys the game so much- him making mistakes is pretty much how most players will experience Inscryption. Right now, it's a roguelike, which means that as long as he learns from his mistakes, fucking up isn't a bad thing! :oD

@@kyreestandifer522 Ye. To be fair a lot of knowledge of how to play card games are accumulated, since they tend to have similar mechanics.
If you're experienced with the likes of MTG, Hearthstone, etc, you immediately know how to recognize a good card, what are good synergies, that your deck needs a balance of big and cheap cards, etc.

I love how in this game, the antagonist is just basically a DM who wants someone to play their game but has the stakes too high and ends up forcing people to play the game.
The antagonist is a player who keeps making the worst possible decisions and somehow surviving sometimes
That reminds me of a roleplay adventure with French CZcamsrs... they were doing some of the worst decisions, but damn, it was hilarious to see them succeed!

Playing this game, I managed to make a death card that was unkillable, cost NOTHING and had a five attack power. It won me the whole game

7 Attack, 7 Health, Bifurcated Strike, Poison, all for the low cost of NOTHING
I never got to draw it, but was able to create a card that was a 7/7 no cost that returned to my hand whenever it was slain.
The fact that he can manage to fail as much as he can succeed is incredible.

I was able to find a guy that somehow got a no-death run all the way to the cabin. Though it was to bad he didn’t have the camera film.

This series holds a special place in my heart not for a very normal way at least i dont think so. This series came out whilst i was transitioning from AIT to my first duty station and I had only watched this episode whilst i was in processing and i remember this great deal of sadness as i was on my own for the first time in my life in a part of the country i had never been in before far away from the people i knew. Especially with this series being so close to Thanksgiving/ Christmas it was especially sad but I would come home from doing whatever paperwork I had to do or gear i had to get to a empty barracks room with nothing but a laptop and 2 duffle bags worth of stuff but just to feel that sense of almost home i would watch these videos watching the snow fall outside before finally falling asleep and it made life a lot less depressing while i was watching these videos so thanks mark for always being there, i also use these videos to gauge just how long I've been here so now im at 2 months and some change. Anyways if you read this i appreciate it. Sorry for the grammatical errors its 2 in the morning and im on my phone.

I like how Jack plotted everything out, planned ahead, and used strategy on the first boss. But couldn't beat him.

This game is seriously not that difficult. Jack played "correctly", but the boss expects that. mark did whatever, and it happened to work.
Never underestimate the power of a maxed out luck stat.
@@B-rex395 Mark really does have his stats as Luck: 100 and Charisma: 100 but everything else is 0.
He gives the cat, who can't attack, the poison that can kill anything when he could have given the adder the ability of the cat to be sacrificed indefinitely while maintaining the attack capability.
You wouldn't want to put many lives on a 2 cost card, as that means getting it in your topdeck means you can't play it immediately

I was hoping Mark would give the stoat the cats ability. It is nice that he acknowledges it though.
The point of the rabbit effect is that warren effectively pays back its cost when played, since you can immediately use the rabbit to pay for something else, and you still end up with a 0/2 on the field to block stuff.
I'd say overall warren is a decent card. Not great, but not bad either.
the rabbits will also inherit the sigils you put on the warren. So for example, you can put the 3 blood sigil and have a rabbit (and the warren itself) that gives you 3 blood for a sacrifice.

It hurt me physically that he didn't give the bunny effect to the cockroach, the card that can be played multiple times in succession.
the cockroach is quite expensive to play more than once sue to its 4 bone cost, so i would say the skink would also be a good option cause tail do be whacky sometime

I found a broken loop where you put an Unkillable sigil and a Corpse Eater sigil on the same card. If it's in your hand, it will immediately replace the next card that dies, and when it's killed, it returns to your hand and then is immediately placed back into the position it was in. It's equivalent to a card with infinite health.
The game creators should definitely add mark voice acting to all the characters in there 😂😂😂 he's really hell good in this
The physical pain i felt when mark wouldn’t read what the sigils meant, wouldn’t draw squirrels and just honestly ignored common sense when playing this game was torture. still fun tho😂

Tbh the most my brain hurt was when he made a zero damage creature meant for sacrificing poisonous when he coulda made his six health turtle poisonous and basically a stone wall that can’t be killed or survived.

Watching Mark endlessly draw anything but squirrel cards is probably the most infuriating experience I have had all week.
For real, every time he picked up a card from his deck instead of a squirrel card is so annoying
I was dying everytime he mentioned not being able to play anything but still pulling from his deck
I thought i was the only one, glad others noticed lol

Mark, quite literally, has had the worst start to this game I have ever seen, which is amazing considering he managed to surpass the Prospector. Also why won’t he draw a damn squirrel card T_T
This is the same man that in this video got told what rabbit hole did and then somehow in the span of 5 seconds took it to mean that it gave him infinite rabbits

Considering he regularly forgets things shown in many game tutorials, or even things shown to him to do within minutes, it is not a surprise. But it makes things funny in their own way.

His commentary and the vid's editing for me is quite entertaining. I gave up on expecting him to try to learn to play the game, any game properly. His channel is far too big for him to care about that aspect anymore. Plus he's got a horde of fans that will defend him for it so he can just play around as much as he wants.
Don't get me wrong though, again I am still entertained by his gameplay vids. I just threw my expectations about proper gameplay away. I know to look for a different channel for that. As it is always what they say in the first place.
The thing is, he doesnt even play it that bad compared to other peoples first time. Its impossible for me to watch a new players inscription video without just facepalming while i watch them misplay every other turn. Thats just how games work, you have to learn them.

its a rougue deckbuilder type game. interacting with the environment changes things in the game in one way or another.
I will also note that this is a DANIEL MULLENS game. If you don't know about this guy or his previous games, its important to know he tends to have...twists... in his games, and ones you definitely won't be expecting. What you see in this video is not ALL you get. That's all i'll say.
@@Lilfoxinabox Very much this- I came from watching Sean/Jack play this and he died *twice* to the prospector because he didn't learn from the first time. I almost thought Mark botched it, but he managed to pull a win. He's shooting himself in the foot, but still surprisingly doing very well despite that.

I think the worst part is if he decides to just sit down and look through the game for 5 minutes, he'll know exactly how to beat it. And that anonys me as much as watching him make th esimple mistakes. Cause he is a good gamer, he's just blissfully ignorant going into new games, and I envy that cause I wish i could blindly jump into a game without a care in the world and enjoy it to this degree. But it'll be interesting to see him stumble his way through it untill he decides to attempt to fully do a strategic playthrough

There's still quite a fair amount of resource management in Yu-Gi-Oh, even if it isn't as major as other collectible card game.

I played this game from launch as an mtg player. Being able to choose whether or not you want to draw mana is something I still dream about.
My service dog was so confused as to why I was shouting "Squirrels!"

When I first watched this, I thought this game was wildly difficult. Bought it for myself and once you understand the mechanic (and actually draw squirrels), it’s super easy.
